About this property
The Wildernest Lodge
With a multi-sport court, on-site restaurant and a free 18-hole golf course, Percy Wood Country Park is a great base for you to explore all that Northumberland has to offer. Northumberland’s coastline is a must-see, whether you’re visiting peaceful Warkworth Castle (8.5 miles) or venturing further north to Alnmouth Beach (10 miles). Alnwick Castle and Gardens are not to be missed by history enthusiasts, nature lovers or film buffs, thanks to its part in the iconic Downton Abbey and Harry Potter. Kids will enjoy Northumberland Zoo and keen walkers will also have plenty of routes to choose from along the Northumberland Coastal Path within 9 miles. Other local attractions include Seahouses and Bamburgh Castle, both within 25 miles.
Five steps take you onto the decking area where you enter this homely property to find the living accommodation conveniently arranged on one level. Discover the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner when you let yourselves in and unwind on the comfortable sofa with a cup of tea. Switch on the electric fire for extra heat on cooler days and on warmer days open the doors leading to the decking. The kitchen includes a great selection of equipment alongside a washing machine for keeping up with the laundry throughout your stay. The central dining room is an idyllic spot in which to enjoy meals together, or bring along your board games and compete to be the family champion. Located just beyond this are two beautiful bedrooms with soothing-toned decor and integrated storage. The first is a double bedroom with an en-suite shower room, and the second is a cosy twin room. Completing the inside of the accommodation is the light and fresh bathroom.
Outside the lodge is an enclosed, decked terrace. This fabulous spot overlooks some of Northumberland’s finest scenery, where you may even spot roe deer or red squirrels. The hot tub is a lovely addition to the end of any active afternoon, while the furniture provides a pretty location for a picnic or alfresco dining. Private parking for one car is also provided.
