About this property
Cosy house, Llanberis. Good access to High Street, Llyn Padarn (lake) & Snowdon
In the heart of Llanberis, with Padarn Lake on your doorstep (watersports and swimming facilities), a short walk to both the Snowdon mountain railway & the 'Llanberis path' up Yr Wyddfa/Snowdon. A fully modernised 19th century house with views of Yr Wyddfa at the rear and a quiet cul-de-sac street at the front. Benefits from being right by the Llanberis High Street, with it's cafes, outdoor shops, takeaways and everyday essentials at your disposal. Also good bus links if you're without a car
A late nineteenth century property that has been modernised throughout and is heated with a modern combi boiler (living room gas fire currently decommissioned). Light, open-plan living on the ground floor with a combined living and dining room and a large open hatch in the dining area bringing natural light through from the kitchen at the rear, with it's views to the Yr Wyddfa/Snowdon range of mountains. A rear porch, with coat rack and boot-rack bench, provides a dry place to get wet walking gear off after a day in the hills (not that it's going to rain of course!)....and a quicker route to the chippy! The dining area has a large wooden dining table and 6 chairs. WIFI, smart TV and Blu-ray keep you entertained. A selection of board games are available in the storage cupboard, along with an Ikea highchair and a hoover and spray mop (not that you'll want to do much of that on holiday!).
Upstairs consists of a generous master bedroom with king size bed and large built-in wardrobes - two rows of hangers and separate shelved sections for smaller items of clothing, with full length mirrored sliding doors. A dressing table with mirror and hairdryer is also provided, and a travel cot and mattress is available for those with infant guests. The dressing table could also double as a work space for a laptop. The rear bedroom, which, like the kitchen, enjoys those views of Snowdon, consists of a triple bunk, which is a double bed below and single above - it is only suitable for a maximum of 2 adults (12yrs+) and the top is only suitable for 6 years old and upwards. See the 'Other details to note' section for info about the charge for use of the top bunk. **No more than 4 adults (12yrs +) per booking**. There are 2 bedside lights and shelves, and the same large wardrobe space and mirrors as the master bedroom. An upstairs bathroom with both bath and over-bath shower, with as much hot water as you need available from the combi boiler. Towels provided, all bedding, initial supply of toilet roll and hand soap.
The downstairs kitchen has a gas hob, electric fan oven, 900w microwave, toaster, kettle, Tassimo coffee machine (disposable pods not supplied), washer/dryer and all the crockery, cutlery and utensils that you'll need. Initial supply of teabags, instant coffee, sugar, cooking oil, salt/pepper/vinegar, washing up liquid are all provided, along with reuseable coffee pod.
There is a small paved patio area at the rear of the property where you can check the mountain conditions first thing in the morning before your day of adventure.. A picnic bench/table in the back yard means you can also eat outside or enjoy a drink in the sun. Llyn Padarn (Padarn Lake) is a minute walk from the back door, and there's also a children's play park there. In the summer you can hire boats and it's also popular with swimmers and paddle boards.
There is on-street parking available in the surrounding streets. The High Street, with all it's shops and cafes, is just around the corner, and with that convenience and the popularity of Llanberis comes busy parking conditions in busier times, especially in school holidays, so consider this if you have mobility issues and/or want doorstep parking. If you struggle to park in the surrounding streets there is a nearby Council-owned long-stay car park (charges apply). There is also a nearer (50m away) short stay car park, where you can pay for up to 3 hours (£1/hour) between 10am and 4:30pm, and park for free overnight between 4:30pm and 10am the following day (although check the info board yourself at the car park for latest charging/restrictions info). There is an area immediately at the back of the property where you can *temporarily* stop right by the back door, to unload/load your car. You can also load and unload at the front of the house.
Other things to note
-If you wish to use the top bunk of the triple bunk there is a small extra fee of £6/night. If you are a family of five with a child under 12 who wishes to use the top bunk, this fee will be automatically added as you book, so you don't need to do anything extra. if you are a group of four or less adults and one person wants to use the top bunk then the extra fee will be manually requested. Either way, I do not accept bookings of five adults (as defined as 12 years old and over)
-Strictly no smoking or vaping anywhere at the property (either in the house or in the garden areas). No BBQs or fires allowed in either garden area
-No pets allowed
- no charging of electric cars or e-scooters/e-bikes allowed
- Please arrive no later than 11pm, to respect our neighbours
- all guests must provide photo ID to host upon booking
- please note that there are security cameras outside on the front and rear entrances to the house.
