Rothay Cottage in Ambleside, Cumbria sleeps four guests in two bedrooms.


Rothay Cottage, a three-storey home, consists of a kitchen/diner with an electric oven and hob, cafetiere, coffee machine, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, a dining area, and a second-floor sitting room with TV and DVD player. The bedrooms consist of a king-size and a second-floor twin, along with a bathroom and cloakroom. Outside, there is a rear garden with patio and furniture, plus roadside parking available nearby property. Sorry, no pets and no smoking. Shop 0.1 miles, pub 0.2 miles, Lake Windermere 1 mile. WiFi, fuel, power, bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Escape to the heart of the Lake District National Park at Rothay Cottage. Note: Due to steep stairs, this cottage is not suitable for children under 4 years old and for guests with limited mobility. Note: Access to the cottage is restricted to unloading only, with a local parking disc available for 1 car on Millans Park. Parking Permit available in cottage for use on several local car parks.

Amenities: All bed linen, towels, tea towels, electric and gas included. Kitchen – electric oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge/ freezer and smart TV in dining area. Nespresso coffee machine with initial supply of coffee pods (pods available in Ambleside), and cafetiere. Welcome pack – cloth, scourer, dishwasher tablets, bin bags, washing up liquid included. Sitting room – amazing views over Ambleside, Wansfell Pike and Baystones, smart TV, selection of maps, books, games and jigsaws. 2 well behaved dogs welcome. Parking – roadside parking available on Millans park, free overnight 6pm to 10am. Daytime - local 1 hour free disc parking - parking discs available free from local shops. Vehicle access to directly outside the cottage door is available but limited to loading and unloading as shared with other cottages. Parking permit available in the property allows parking in several public car parks. Wifi in the property. No smoking. No electric car charging at the cottage – charge points are available in Ambleside. Note: check in 3pm, check out 10am. Note: Due to the cottage being over 3 floors, a smaller than average tread stairs and stairs configuration (2 steps extra into sitting room), this cottage is not suitable for children under 4 years old and for guests with limited mobility. Note: Cottage is off Millans Park up a small incline, small gravel road with minimal street lighting. The cottage has an outside light

Town: Lying at the northern tip of Lake Windermere, England’s largest lake, Ambleside with its numerous shops makes a superb base for touring the central Lakes, with Grasmere and the Langdale Valley just a short drive away. There is plenty to do here - cruises, boat trips, and watersports on Lake Windermere itself and the lakeside at Waterhead with parkland offering lovely views down the lake and a short stretch of beach. A walk in the other direction, following Stock Ghyll through woodland, will bring you to the entrancing waterfall of Stock Ghyll Force. Along with the Lake and the great walking on offer, Ambleside is also famous for its annual rushbearing ceremony and the diminutive 17th century “Bridge House” - one of the most photographed buildings in the Lake District and now the National Trust Information Centre. Ambleside has plenty of restaurants and pubs to suit all tastes from great fish & chips to its two Michelin Star restaurants and all tastes in between are catered for.
