About this property

Shepherd's Lane-a secluded, peaceful, remodeled house in the Laurel Highlands

Nestled in the quaint and peaceful borough of Addison, Pennsylvania; Shepherd’s Lane offers the perfect getaway for relaxation, restoration, and connection. Tucked on a grassy 3-acre lot, towards the back of a private road, this beautiful house embodies comfort and serenity.

Remodeled to provide ample space and updated features, the Lane can comfortably sleep up to 7 people and contains multiple common areas to spread out or come together. Much detail and thought has been poured into every aspect of this beautiful haven, and you will see this the moment you pull in the drive.

As you enter the house via a secure keypad, you will be welcomed to the beautiful living area with comfortable leather couches, custom wood detailing and shelving, and décor aimed at cultivating a warm and welcoming feel. The living area leads directly to the open dining and kitchen space which holds everything you would need for an exquisite dining experience. Beautiful rustic shelving conveniently displays all dinner and glassware, an antique coffee bar boasts both drip and Keurig coffee makers, along with complimentary coffee pods. The large dining table is the perfect space to gather and connect, all the while providing a stunning view of the backyard through the covered deck.

The second story contains the primary sleeping spaces and is comprised of three bedrooms and two baths. The primary bedroom hosts amazing views of the back grassy pasture and woods beyond, a luxurious king bed with custom pine headboard, a spacious attached bath with a large soaking tub. The two additional bedrooms hold comfortable and spacious queen beds, beautiful views of the front yard and park, plus all the amenities you would want when turning in for the night. Each bedroom is equipped with a smart tv, closet and dresser, and convenient charging stations at either side of bed. The additional full bath is conveniently located in the hall and is just steps away from the other bedrooms. Each bath contains complementary shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and soft cotton towels.

The lower level has been transformed into a complete living area with a beautiful custom fireplace, comfortable couches, a game room with an array of board games, a bar with wine glasses and basic essentials, and a library/office area that contains a day bed that can easily create another sleeping area. This unique space is the perfect place to warm up by the fire, play chess, or cozy up to read a book and watch the snow fall.

Even though you may not want to leave the interior of this beautiful house, the outdoor area has been created to offer a private and peaceful experience. Whether it be having coffee on the beautiful deck watching the sunrise or enjoying a glass of wine while watching the sheep lazily graze in the pasture at sunset, the deck is a prime location for relaxation. The large stone fire pit is a great place to accommodate families and take in the sky of Addison, which is unmatched when it comes to stargazing. If you enjoy grilling, our complementary charcoal grill is available to cook up a delicious meal to enjoy on the large patio with picnic table. There are so many beautiful spaces; you may not know which to choose first.

We highly recommend you head out and about and experience some of what this lovely and historic area of the Laurel Highlands has to offer. Right within the borough, you are a few steps away from a well-maintained park with a paved walking path that leads to the very tip of Addison. Here you can see for miles and take in the most amazing sunsets you could image. Addison is very rich in history, and it is worth a stroll up and down the main street to see the Toll House and other historic sites. The Youghiogheny River Lake is just a few minutes away and it contains beaches to relax, areas to kayak and explore, and also the interesting story of the town of Somerfield that lies beneath the surface.

We have many local attractions, 15-45 minutes away, that offer exciting options for rafting trips, bike rentals to experience the Gap trail, exceptional walking trails for all skill levels, waterfalls, kayak and boat rentals, lakeside beaches, skiing, and snow-tubing. This area is essentially an outdoor enthusiast’s dream any season of the year. Also, if you travel with your own gear, we have ample secure storage space to accommodate anything from bikes to boats!

If your interests lean in other directions, there are still so many choices in close proximity. Whether it be checking out local antique stores, making a visit to Fallingwater and Kentuck Knob to see exquisite architecture, receiving spa treatments at the local salons/resorts, trying gourmet food and drink, visiting local small businesses…the list goes on and on. Not to mention, if you are up for driving a bit further, there are extensive offerings of fine dining, theatre, and shopping anywhere from 1-1.5 hrs away. You are surrounded by a wide array of options!

This is just a glimpse of what this home and this area has to offer. Seeing and experiencing it all in person is the only way to truly understand. With that said, we would love to welcome you to our remarkable home and help you to create some very special memories just like the ones our family holds dear.
