Shepherd's Hut The Den

Each Shepherd's Hut is equipped with ultrafast WiFi, television, and a healthy dose of comfort and relaxation. Perfect for a long weekend away from it all. Each Shepherd Hut sleeps two adults, and The Burrow is dog-friendly. A Full English Breakfast in the pub is included in your booking, and discounts are available if you stay for a week or more.
The Red Lion pub, situated in Northmoor, a beautiful Oxfordshire village close to the River Thames, has three beautiful shepherd's huts set on the grounds and in the orchard of our pub. The huts overlook the church and nearby countryside. You can enjoy home-cooked food and drink from our award-winning pub and a peaceful night's sleep in a cosy hut. Each hut is insulated with central heating, a wood burner and all mod-cons. Each one has everything you need skilfully put together: a big, soft bed to the left, with places to charge your phone and store your book, as well as a smart television at the end; the living space has comfy seating as well as a mini fridge and tea/coffee making facilities; the bathroom is remarkably spacious, with an oversized shower and plenty of towels and hot water making them a great B&B experience all year round. With easy walks to the river Thames, you can truly relax or use us as a base to explore Oxford, Blenheim Palace and The Cotswolds.

The Den is one of three shepherd's huts at The Red Lion. It has a comfy king-size bed and a classic Chesterfield sofa. Our huts have an en-suite bathroom, Smart TV, wood-burning stove, and tea and coffee-making facilities.

The Nest is one of three shepherd's huts at The Red Lion. It has a comfy king-size bed and a table and chairs. Our huts have an en-suite bathroom, Smart TV, wood-burning stove, and tea and coffee-making facilities.

The garden is spacious and peaceful. Our menu includes tasty, home-cooked pub favourites, including a delicious Sunday Roast lunch and a menu celebrating British seasonal produce, including roast dinners.
The pub offers a good selection of fine wines, cask ales, draught beer, lager and cider, spirits and soft drinks.
The pub is known for its hospitality, and whether you have two legs or four, or are 9 or 90 years old (or anything in between or younger or older!), you are sure to receive a warm welcome.
We hold regular quiz and bingo nights, as well as hosting live music.
