About this property
Dorving Barn - Mallerstang
Tucked away in the peaceful Eden valley sits this unique, modern barn conversion in the Cumbrian countryside. Avid walkers will be in their element at this cottage, with the Pennine Way, Wild Boar Fell and Whernside summit all within 18 miles of the property. There are a wide range of walks directly from the barn, providing beautiful scenery, waterfalls and local history, with the Lady Ann Clifford way, running behind the barn. When you’re not rambling through the area, the traditional market towns of Hawes and Kirkby Stephen are a short drive away, providing gorgeous, cobbled yards lined with interesting shops and spots to grab a bite to eat. Alternatively, the nearby town of Ravenstonedale (8.5 miles) is equally beautiful and has two cosy inns as well as many wonderful spots to walk and cycle.
Step inside this stylish property and into the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. This charming space is perfect for convivial living, allowing family and friends to come together throughout the day and share a hearty meal or a movie. The sofas are plush, and with the added benefit of a wood burner and Smart TV, it makes for a gorgeous spot from which to unwind with a glass of your favourite tipple. The kitchen is both contemporary and well kitted out, with all the equipment needed to rustle up dinners for four. For dining, you can keep the chef company at the breakfast bar or, perhaps, gather around the dining table next to the lovely picture window with ample seating. There is a WC off this room. When it’s time for bed, head up to the first floor and admire the beautifully handcrafted handrail and underlit stairs as you go. Two double bedrooms await sleepy heads, boasting stunning views across the fields and down the valley. A modern bathroom with a large shower completes the upstairs accommodation.
Outside is an enclosed garden, with a large patio area with seating and wildlife garden wrapping around the property. The perfect spot for al fresco dining, a morning cuppa or maybe a chilled drink on a sunny evening, whilst watching the sun set. There is ample parking for two cars on the gravel drive.
