About this property
Lovely 2-bedroom home with stunning city views and direct access to countryside
“Highbury” is a beautiful, spacious, traditional semi-detached two-bedroomed house situated in a quiet cul-de-sac. Just a short walk from the World Heritage City of Bath and with stunning views across both the city and surrounding National Trust countryside. Well-equipped and very comfortable, with your own private south-facing walled garden, personal parking space and unique private access from the garden into the beautiful National Trust Skyline walk with its panoramic views across Bath.
The space
“Highbury” is a beautiful, spacious, 1950s semi-detached two-bedroomed house situated at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac. Just a short (10 minute) walk from the World Heritage city of Bath and with stunning views across both the city and surrounding National Trust countryside.
Well-equipped and very comfortable: large two-seater sofa plus two easy chairs in the lounge with 42” smart TV (Netflix and Amazon Prime available), adjoining dining room with dining table for six; two bedrooms; family bathroom with separate WC upstairs and separate WC downstairs; utility room with fridge freezer and washing machine; kitchen and quaint separate larder.
The mature garden is fully enclosed and south facing, with your own private gated access directly into the National Trust fields and onto the famous Skyline walk.
Single parking space on the driveway for one small or medium car, or we may be able to provide you with a visitors’ parking spot on the road if you prefer (please let us know at the time of booking).
A pleasant 10 minute downhill stroll in one direction takes you into Bath city centre via the pretty Kennet and Avon canal, or you might prefer to wander down en route through the pleasing and interesting community of Widcombe with its array of lively gastro pubs, quaint cafes and gorgeous independent little shops.
If you’re looking for a comfortable, private, ideally located and hassle free relaxing stay then Highbury is perfect for you.
The space
Highbury is our family home and we would love for you to use it as your own home when we are not using it!
You will have sole access to a spacious and beautifully decorated family home with two bedrooms (one with king size bed, one with twin beds), a large lounge-thru-dining room (with patio doors leading you out into a glorious extensive walled garden), a fully equipped kitchen with electric hob and oven, dishwasher, coffee machine, toaster and kettle, separate larder and utility room with washing machine and fridge freezer.
The large mature garden is south facing and there is an outside table with six chairs. With the sun setting in the garden at around 9pm during the height of summer, it’s perfect for al fresco dining. Keep your eyes to the sky too; hot air balloons regularly fly over the garden when the weather allows.
The pièce de résistance at Highbury, however, is your location. The house is situated at the end of a very quiet cul-de-sac yet is conveniently located for town, being just a short downhill walk right into the centre of Bath where you will find the gems of the Roman Baths, Royal Crescent, The Circus etc. You will also have your own parking space for one small/medium car in the driveway directly outside the house, or, if you prefer, we may be able to provide you with your own visitors’ parking permit which will allow you to park outside on the road, or anywhere within zone 2 in Bath. Please just ask when you book.
Into the walled back garden, and, walking up into your own private little woodland - which is alive with bluebells and wild garlic in the spring - you arrive at your own lockable gate which allows you direct access into the vast and untouched National Trust meadows beyond. From there you can walk the beautiful Bath Skyline walk which gives you quite simply the best views across the city. Look out for the abundance of wildlife that frequent the fields and woods close to the house and garden too: from roe deer, foxes and badgers to tawny owls, buzzards and sparrowhawks. It really is the best of town and country here!
Guest access
Guests have access to the whole of the house and the private, walled garden.
Other things to note:
The house is used as a family home between rentals.
We provide all bed linen, towels, tea towels, dishcloths, cleaning equipment etc.
We are in a quiet residential area so we ask guests to be mindful of noise and respectfully request no hen or stag parties.
Sorry, we do not accept pets.
