About this property
Drovers Cottage - Two Bedroom House, Sleeps 4
Offering light and spacious accommodation for up to four guests, this fresh, airy and inviting hideaway is a perfect base for couples and smaller families seeking a peaceful base for exploring some breathtaking countryside in both England and Scotland. Part of a group of charming properties situated in a tranquil spot in Tillmouth Park, the bungalow lies just over a mile from the Twizel Bridge over the River Till, which leads to the River Tweed, the Scottish border and stunning walks here and in Northumberland. The picturesque village of Cornhill-on-Tweed and the charming town of Coldstream have a choice of friendly pubs and restaurants. Explore nearby Ford and Etal and Chain Bridge Honey Farm. The coast is also within easy reach, with a long, quiet beach at Goswick and a range of historic sites in the famous border town of Berwick-upon-Tweed.
Entering this appealing and spacious stone built bungalow, the hallway has a handy utility cupboard before leading you through to the stylish open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. With high ceilings and exposed beams, this characterful dual-aspect space is perfect for unwinding in, the cosy lounge has a wood burner, TV and comfortable seating, with the sociable dining space just behind. Occupying the far wall, the fully equipped kitchen offers plenty of work and storage space. A shallow step leads up to the hallway and along to the two light-filled bedrooms: a relaxing double and a cheerful twin, both decorated in bright tasteful shades and featuring ample room for storage and peaceful garden views. The accommodation is rounded off with a fully tiled shower room with underfloor heating and a walk-in wet room.
French doors lead from the main space to the enclosed garden with a charming patio and a lovely lawn, overlooked by a former dovecot. There is plenty of outdoor furniture providing a perfect space for dining alfresco or for stargazing into the gloriously dark night skies. The garden gate leads to the parking area with private parking for two cars in the shared car park.
