The Neighborhood:
The neighbourhood is full of lakes. Next door is the Recreational Lake where one can hire kayaks, canoes, cycle hire, high ropes/climbing wall, paddle boards, sailing, etc and waterskiing on another lake close by. There are wonderful walks in the area, cycling, riding, and some adventure parks. Also there are many species of birds and other wildlife.
South Cerney is a very old village with 2 pubs and a few small shops. It dates back to the 10th century. Cirencester offers excellent shopping, markets, and good cafes and restaurants, also it has probably the best small museum in England and a magnificent Church.
Within walking distance is the De Vere Hotel which has an attractive bar, restaurant and Spa.

Getting Around:
A car is ideal to make the most of what the Cotswolds has to offer. Otherwise Kemble station is only 7 miles/10 minutes in a taxi. The 51 bus from Cheltenham to Swindon goes past the end of the lane. Walking and cycling are popular.
