About this property
Cozy house with a large terrace in Rossö Strömstad
The west Swedish coast is an experience in itself, and Rossö is something entirely on its own.
Welcome to spend a few days here in this home which has Rossö harbor and several lovely beaches within walking distance.
Explore what this place has to offer. Rossö harbor has a cozy café, where you can have a prawn sandwich with a glass of wine, or at the convenience store, where you have a fast food restaurant that serves different good dishes from the menu.
Visit the Koster Islands with the Kosterhavet National Park by ferry from Strømstad, Daftöland with lots of fun for the children, and of course Strömstad town.
Kayaking around the island is recommended.
The region around Rossö is more than just archipelago pearls. You will also find a number of different golf courses in Western Sweden. Here there are golf courses facing the sea as well as large and small forest, park and manor courses, well-trimmed greens and challenging rough in hilly terrain. And the most with a fantastic sea view!
Enjoy the place after today's experiences! The home faces west and you can enjoy the sun from morning to late evening on the large and beautiful terrace. Grilling and relaxing or playing on the large lawn in the garden.
The home has a living room with a fireplace, a great, well-equipped kitchen, a bathroom and 3 bedrooms.
NB! Please note that bed linen/towels are not included in the price. So you should take it with you or you can hire for 200 NOK per set (excluding last-minutes bookings). Let us know. Cleaning is included, but you must prepare the place for cleaning according to additional instructions.
p.s. When you book an Easter holiday, the rule is that you can book from Friday to Wednesday or from Wednesday to Monday or the entire period.
Hiking and Places Worth Visiting
1. Forest Trails from the Cabin
If you take Myrens vâg to the left up towards the trash bins and continue straight ahead, you will pass several houses. When the road splits further ahead, you can either continue straight onto a nice hiking trail or turn right at the blue house and follow the many paths crisscrossing through the forest.
2. Walk to the Local Store and Small Beaches
Head onto the main road and turn left towards Garviks Camping, just after the playground with workout equipment. When you reach the sea at the campsite, keep right and follow the trail along the water. You will pass several small beaches before reaching the pier, Hamncaféen, and the local store.
3. Round Trip via "Høyden"
Follow the main road towards the local store, but turn left up Høyden. When you reach the top, keep right and walk past the large yellow house on the right (a former guesthouse). From here, the trail enters the forest at a barrier. This path leads down to the campsite, where you can keep right to reach the pier, the local store, and Hamncaféen.
Food and Drinks:
A glass of wine and a räkmacka at Hamncaféen, an ice cream from the local store, or a kebab plate from the takeaway stand at the store are great options if you want to combine your walk with a meal.
4. Shallow Beach at Rossö
To reach a large, shallow beach, take a right at the trash bins, follow the road uphill, and then turn left where the sign says V. Rossö. It is a long and steep hill, so driving is recommended. After about 1.5 km, you will find a large parking lot on the right. From here, it is just a short walk to the beach, which is both beautiful and family-friendly.
5. Kokholmen – Scenic Hiking Area
If you wish to continue your walk, from this parking lot, you can head further into Kokholmen, a beautiful area where cars are not allowed. Follow the road to the end, where you will encounter a fence and a gate. Go through the gate to find several scenic hiking trails and stunning nature – a highly recommended visit.
6. Nearby Excursions
Grebbestad, Fjällbacka, Kungshamn, and Smögen are charming towns worth visiting, with opportunities to take boats out to different islands.
Day Trip to the Koster Islands from Strömstad
From Strömstad, you can take a boat to the Koster Islands, rent bikes, and explore the island at your own pace. Find a picturesque cove for a swim – a fantastic nature experience you won’t want to miss.
