About this property
Chalet in the enchanted forest
Wonderful enchanted chalet nestled in the woods inside the former ENI Tourist Village, located in Borca di Cadore a few kilometers from Cortina d 'Ampezzo.
Perfect solution for a peaceful stay on the slopes of Mount Antelao, the king of the Dolomites, both for winter snow lovers and summer mountain lovers.
The former Eni Village, declared since July 2024, a national heritage of cultural interest by the Ministry of Culture, was born from the visionary idea of Enrico Mattei who was actually translated, since 1952, by the architect Edoardo Gellner, who worked on a design solution that reinterpreted the alpine building typology in a modern way, defining the project in every detail, both on the technological and structural level.
The villa has been completely renovated keeping true to the original design of the architect Gellner, including all the original furnishings of the time, incredibly current and modern in their essential forms.
The large living room with stube is dominated by the immense window in the enchanted woods, where it is very easy to see squirrels, deer, roe deer and especially Foxie, our house fox that occasionally emerges from the woods for an unexpected visit.
There are three bedrooms: a double with a view of the woods, one with two single beds and a living room with TV and cove fireplace, there is a large and comfortable sofa bed.
The kitchen is completed by the kitchen, two bathrooms, the main one with a shower.
The chalet is immersed in the forest of Borca di Cadore, easily accessible by car accessing from the state road in the direction of the former Eni Village, following the directions of the 300 villas.
Two bends before arrival pass by the famous church of Our Lady of Cadore, designed by Gellner with the collaboration of the architect Carlo Scarpa, and definitely worth a visit.
For ski lovers we are in the heart of the Dolomiti Superski area with over 150km of slopes, of which are part of San Vito di Cadore (3km), Cortina d 'Ampezzo at 15m, Alta Badia 50 minutes, Tre Cime 45 minutes away and Kronplatz an hour away, also reachable by SkiBus.
Not to mention the countless cross-country ski slopes, between Cortina and Dobbiaco, in an idyllic setting, where it is also possible to snowshoe with and without guides.
Summer is a dream , among the most beautiful mountains in the world, many hiking trails suitable for everyone, and some of the most spectacular places in the Dolomites (the Tre Cime di Lavaredo, Lake Sorapiss, Lake Braies, just to name three nearby).
Not only hiking, this is the paradise of bikes, with lots of routes including the very famous "Lunga Via delle Dolomiti" that connects Calalzo-Cortina-Dobbiaco-S. Candido and Lienz, and goes right on the slopes of the village.
In the village there is also a SPA equipped with pools, saunas and wellness center and a famous restaurant brewery "da Bauce", open all year round.
