Let Morningtide be your perfect Cornish retreat in Mousehole, with incredible sea views across Mounts Bay. Just a short walk to the iconic Cornish harbour of Mousehole, with its picturesque harbour, cafes, restaurants, pubs and independent shops. This wonderful cottage is beautifully furnished, spacious and stylish, the perfect choice for a relaxing and comfortable getaway. Your dog is very welcome too!

You will relax the minute you open the door to this beautifully furnished, spacious and stylish cottage! Unpack your bags and then take a short stroll to the picturesque harbour of Mousehole, which truly lives up to Dylan Thomas description as the “loveliest village in England”. Discover a picture postcard Cornish harbour with a small sandy beach at one end and a myriad of winding streets, with an array of cafes, shops, galleries and restaurants. The only problem you face is where to try first.
Spend your days exploring the many attractions of West Cornwall, from the iconic Minack Theatre at Porthcurno, to the bustling streets of St Ives (take the train from Penzance or St Erth) where you can visit the wonderful Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden and the Tate St Ives, followed by ice cream on one of the seven sandy town beaches. For the adventurous, grab the Scillonian, which you can see from the window, from Penzance to the incredible Isles of Scilly.
Alternate busy days with more relaxing ones; a morning walk, along the South West Coast path, a relaxing lunch at a fabulous local pub and then either flop on the beach with a reviving dip in the crystal blue sea; or visit one of the many stunning gardens in the area. Everything is on your doorstep and always return home to a comfortable home from home, with a well-equipped kitchen for a family dinner. Accommodation in Detail:
Ground Floor: Entrance to hallway, with stairs to first floor. The sitting room is off the hallway, a stylishly decorated and comfortable room with magnificent sea views from the large windows. Cosy in the cooler months with small wood burner and comfortable seating consisting of sofas and armchairs. Large smart TV with a range of streaming services available and a DVD player. At the end of the hallway is the heart of the home, a large open plan dining and kitchen area. The dining area with a large table seating six people, with large cushioned bench and separate bench seat. There is a wood burner making this room the perfect place for a cosy family dinner in the winter months. The modern, fully integrated and well-equipped kitchen is at the far end of the room, with two separate Bosch ovens, dishwasher, undercounter fridge and separate freezer.
At the back of the house is a useful utility area with washing machine and separate tumble drier. There is a downstairs bathroom with WC, basin and large shower enclosure, a useful addition, accessible from the back garden to get sandy children straight in the shower! The back door leads to a charming, fully secure patio garden with small bistro table and chairs. There is a secure gate into the garden from a side passage, which is ideal for dog owners not wanting to bring their muddy dogs through the house!
At the front of the house is a small patio area where you can sit with your morning coffee (or evening glass of wine) and drink in the fabulous sea views.
First Floor: from the stairs the landing leads to a double bedroom with lovely sea views across the bay; with double bed, hanging space and tall chest of drawers. The master bedroom has more fabulous sea views; for the early risers grab a coffee and watch the glorious sun rise across Mounts Bay and fishing boats coming and going from nearby Newlyn. The master bedroom has a king size bed, cupboard and chest of drawers. At the back of the house is a charming twin bedroom, with two single beds, cupboard and chest of drawers. All the bedrooms are comfortable and lovingly furnished with cushions, blankets, headboards and curtains creating a haven for you to relax and unwind. There is a further family bathroom with full sized bath and shower over, WC, basin and tall towel rail.
Morningtide is located on the far side of Mousehole (if coming in from Penzance), in a row of houses on a pedestrianised street. The location provides a quiet, traffic free, safe space to fully relax; yet just a short stroll to the harbour or an easy route by car out of the village (avoiding all the narrow, windy roads) to explore the many attractions West Cornwall has to offer. It’s location makes it the perfect retreat in Mousehole with added bonus of beautiful sea views! Although there is no parking at the cottage, you can stop outside to unload luggage and passengers and then park at one of 3 car parks in the village; or on the nearby residential streets.
