About this property
Sea Vista - Dovercourt
Revel in the coastal life at this seafront-facing, traditional, Victorian property in the peaceful town of Dovercourt. From the house, walk along the seafront and around the point into historic Harwich with its busy harbour, Georgian houses, cosy pubs, and the UK’s oldest cinema, or walk towards Hamworthy nature reserve to enjoy the wild beach. Walk or swim from the safety of Dovercourt beach, accessed 150 metres from the property, where dogs are welcome year round on some parts. For families, there is a boating lake, adventure playground, football field, skate-park and outdoor roller-skating rink within 0.25 miles. For history enthusiasts, Dovercourt and Harwich enjoy a rich maritime history. The Harwich Redoubt Fort, 1 mile away, offers interactive military and social history, or visit the Light ship LV18, associated with the floating Pirate radio station. Take the passenger ferry to Landguard or Shotley, or join a seal watching trip. Further afield, the Stour Estuary, 6 miles away, is the perfect spot for walking, cycling and birdwatching. The traditional seaside towns of Clacton-On-Sea and Walton-on-the-Naze, as well as the city of Colchester and Constable Country, can be found within 20 miles.
Step into this charming four-story property, with plenty of space to accommodate a large family or group. On the left, you’ll find the large, well-appointed kitchen/diner. Next door, you’ll find an inviting lounge with comfortable sofas to snuggle on while keeping an eye on the Smart TV. Savour the magnificent views from the windows and enjoy the ever-changing light on the sea, whilst watching the shipping and yachts approaching Harwich and Felixstowe ports. For your convenience, there is a WC in the hallway. A doorway leads down to the basement games room - with a pool table, comfortable sofas and a large Smart TV, this is the perfect spot for kids to escape to and everyone to enjoy a film together. There is a door to the covered lower patio, where there is also a small outdoor shower and steps up to the garden. Next to the games room, you’ll find a separate utility room with washing machine and dryer. Back in the main hallway, you’ll find a doorway and porch that leads out to the terrace, with steps down to the garden. The first-floor is comprised of two bedrooms and the family bathroom; the lovely super-king-size bedroom with en-suite shower room is decorated in sea-blues and contrasting brights, coupled with breath-taking views. Along the landing, you'll find a delightful twin bedroom. Relax in the rustic bathroom which features a claw-foot bath with shower over bath. On the second floor, there are two further bedrooms; a king-size bedroom and an inviting king-size zip-and-link bedroom which can be laid with separate beds for children. The king-size bedroom is decorated in a palette of relaxing neutrals, with breathtaking views around the coast as far as the Naze, and a juliette balcony, and has a handsome en-suite bathroom with a separate bath and shower.
Outdoors, there is plenty of space to rest and relax in the garden by the olive tree. Prepare a BBQ and enjoy sundowners with your guests. The garden features an additional area for private parking of up to four cars.
