The bedrooms consist of a double with en-suite bathroom and twin with en-suite shower room, along with a cloakroom. Outside, there is a rear garden and off-road parking for two cars. Sorry, no pets. Sorry, no smoking. You'll find a shop in 1.5 miles, pub in 1.4 miles, and lake in 1.5 miles. WiFi, fuel, power, bed linen, and towels are included in the rent. Region: Impressive mountains, open fells and clear-water lakes, the Lake District has it all. From walking in the mountains to exhilarating watersports or just a gentle cruise on a steam-powered yacht, Cumbria is the perfect holiday destination.

Town: Sitting at the foot of the Whinlatter and Thornthwaite Forest and between the magnificent northern lakes of Derwentwater and Bassenthwaite, is the village of Thornthwaite. Thornthwaite boasts a contemporary art gallery exhibiting many local artists and its teashop and the Church of Thornthwaite St.Mary with its origins dating back to 1240 The beautiful Comb Beck runs alongside the village into the nearby lake. Thornthwaite affords fantastic views towards Skiddaw and access to both leisurely strolls and challenging fell walks from the doorstep. The beautiful Newlands Valley is close by and is great to walk or cycle, especially if you like to stumble across pubs and tea shops and its ‘buggy friendly’! The whole of the National Park is accessible from Thornthwaite but close by are Keswick, Braithwaite and attractions like Derwentwater for its sailing and kayaking, The Whinlatter Visitors Centre with its ‘Go Ape’, mountain biking and children’s play area, Mire house, a grand house and gardens on the shores of the lake and Armathwaite Hall for luxury afternoon teas.
