About this property
Château Monluc -360° views, XL pool, cinema room, kids room & ping-pong
A 13th-century Gascon château, renovated in 2024 to offer our travellers a historic and elegant setting. Today it is a haven of peace and tranquillity. Erected at the top of a medieval village, it offers 6 bedrooms for 12/14 people, games room, winter kitchen, summer kitchen, shady park, brazier, 360° view, natural stone XL swimming pool, summer cinema room, ping pong table. AND: a knightly plunge for younger guests, with our theme room: ‘the knights of the long table’.
This "Château Gascogne", situated in a dominant position on the heights of the medieval village of Saint Puy and formerly the site of a famous vineyard (founder of the famous "Pousse-Rapière" cocktail), has today become an ode to elegance.
Its 600 sq m. of inside superficy offers comfortable living space for up to 12/14 guests
Configured over 2 levels, the first floor offers 5 ensuite bedrooms and the interior living rooms, scattered around a magnificent central corridor, itself accessed by a wide stone and wrought iron staircase. The last ensuite bedroom is part of what are known as the ‘ground floor flats’. This is a private suite adjoining the summer kitchen, with a private lounge, study area, private dining room and bathroom with shower and bath.
The high ceilings, period herringbone parquet flooring, antique furniture and panoramic decorations by the famous ©Zuber factory depicting great mythological scenes: Boston Harbour, Niagara, views of America... undoubtedly contribute to the very special atmosphere of the place.
Several lounges are at your disposal: 1 comfort lounge, a dining room for 12/14 people, a games room with antique games tables, chess, a harpsichord in perfect condition and a fireplace. There is also a winter library with another fireplace. A vinyl turntable (opera and classical music collection), TV and work + reading stations are also available in this room.
The winter kitchen, located opposite the dining room, is fully equipped with a three-oven @Godin gas cooker, complete kitchen utensils, cultery and table ware for twenty people in decorated Spanish earthenware, fridge, dishwasher, worktop, small electrical appliances and a natural stone sink.
Wi-Fi is available throughout the Château and the property is connected to the fibre optic network. Each room has its own private bathroom with shower and/or bath. These stunning bathrooms almost turn showering into a real experience...
The bedding is brand new, with draw sheets, duvets, 2 pillows per person, sheets and towels. There are shutters in all rooms and they all have a commanding view over the countryside.
For children aged between 6 and 14, the bedroom mezzanines have been designed as an adventure, with explorer beds, electric storm lamps, binoculars for observation, comic books, mosquito net canopies and fans for those hot nights in the jungle!

All bedrooms are equipped with new bedding complete with draw sheets, duvets, 2 pillows per person, bed linen and towels. There are shutters in all rooms and they all have a dominant view over the lovely gascon countryside.
On the ground floor, there is a utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer, as well as a secondary kitchen which we use as a summer kitchen. This is a rustic kitchen, full of charm and fully equipped with fridge, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, espresso machine for ground coffee, a large central oak table and a period natural stone sink that we have kept as it is. It gives access to a 100m2 outdoor patio with a brazier for cooking, parasol, garden table and chairs for the whole group. A perfect spot for summer lunches and al fresco dinners.
In the Château, the owner has also prepared a THEMED ROOM, the ‘Knights of the Long Table room’. Housed in the old wine press, with its monumental fireplace. Wooden swords, shields, maces, bows and arrows, and helmets (all in wood) are available for all the little knights.
LAST BUT NOT LEAST: Every summer, the old stone wine storehouses in one of the wings of the château are home to a summer cinema complete with chiliennes, video projector, big screen and popcorn machines! A French pool table is also available in this area.
The buildings are built of natural stone with walls over 60cm thick, giving the place an unrivalled coolness on hot summer days.
Outside, the grounds are fully enclosed and include the Château's main courtyard, which is partly shaded by the park's trees. The private swimming pool is protected by low stone walls and set in the old rainwater reservoir, made of local stone (length 19m x width 6m x depth 1.50m). One side has a gently sloping entrance to the water for the little ones. Loungers are available around the pool.
Continuing the view from one of the Château's porches, you also have access to the Château's large esplanade, a vast grassy area overlooking the village from its ramparts and opening onto an almost 360° panoramic view. At the far end, a charming oak wood gives access to the Château's former belvedere.
Although isolated and not overlooked, our guests can walk to all the amenities located at the bottom of the village (grocery shop, pharmacy, restaurants, etc.). So they can enjoy the charm of French village life, while having the impression of being alone in the world in the Château.
For the comfort of our guests, we also offer a private concierge service, including; airport transfers, shopping deliveries, catered meal deliveries, in-home chefs, private yoga and pilates classes... Don't hesitate to contact us after booking.
