The property originally was a coach house built in 1890 from local stone. Over the years it has been tastefully renovated into three holiday cottages. I am a retired teacher and was looking for something to keep me occupied in my retirement. I have a strong connection with the local landscape as I use to run climbing and walking trips for a London University. When I saw the place two years ago I had to buy it.

The holiday site has become the corner stone of my life and allowed me to gain access to Snowdonia National Park and enjoy the outdoors. Mt Snowdon and Aran are in my back garden !

Why they chose this property

Love Snowdonia and the outdoors want to share my experiences and provide comfortable and affordable accommodation to explore the outdoors.

What makes this property unique

Lovely glacial valley setting, with 2.5 acres grounds in ancient Celtic forest. Uniquely located 2.8 miles from the summit of Mt Snowdon 300m from the Watkin path and the waterfalls.
This makes for a unique picturesque and tranquil setting perfect antidote to city life. If you like the outdoors there is no better setting. We are located in the centre of Snowdonia National Park and the site has a back to nature feel about it located in a woodland setting and close to the babbling river Glaslyn. For those that don't want to cook Caffi Gwynant is a short walk away and does a hearty Welsh breakfast. A trek up Mt Snowdon *Wydffa" will take approx 6.5 hrs up and down for those that have a reasonable level of fitness. During the high season a train leaves from Llanberis will take you to the summit. In all there are seven paths up and down Snowdon each of which has its own character and spectacular views with thoughtful use of the Sherpa bus it is possible to do two of these routes in a day. During the high season the Sherpa bus runs every hour and saves the hassle and expense of parking at Penn y Pass.

Bryn Dinas Red Dragon Holiday cottages gives the guest convenient access to all the surrounding attractions. Major towns and attractions are a max of 25 minute drive from your cottage providing Llanberis, Betws y Coed, Beddgelert, Bangor, Caenarfon and Porthmadog withinin easy reach. A little further afield are the attractions of Anglesy and the Lynn Peninsula. Cader Idris another one of Wale's tallest mountain located in south Snowdonia is also accessible only 40 minute drive away. Those that seeking adrenaline fuelled attractions of Zipworld are only a 20-30 minute drive away. Zipworld has attractions of underground trampolining, a mega zip line and roller coaster ride in the forest. Another perfect attraction nearby is Sygun Copper mine which provides self guided tours underground. Not only are we the perfect spot for a walk up Snowdon there are also many local little walks and beauty spots which will enhance your stay. Mt Cnicht opposite the site though only 2200 ft is set in a stunning landscape that has out of this world views of Snowdon and the Glaslyn valley. In addition we also an ideal centre for water activities in the nearby two lakes of Llyn Dinas and Llyn Gwynant, whether that be kayaking, paddle-boarding or wild water swimming. In heavy rain the river Glaslyn becomes a grade 3 white water run.

Those of you that fancy sea air short 25 minute drive gives you access to some lovely beaches at Harlech, Criccieth and Dinas Denile. Why not fly a kite or go for a paddle. Continuing the water theme we have access to the waterfalls at the Watkins path and our location between two lakes of Llyn Gwynant and Llyn Dinas provide the perfect venue for Kayaking, paddle board or even wild water swimming.
