About this property

Less than a minute's walk to the beach, dog friendly, 2 private parking spaces.

Once you have parked (the house has two private parking spaces directly outside) you step into a home from home environment. The garden is enclosed with a slate patio so no need to worry about your dogs trying to escape to the beach! Beautiful Harlyn Bay is about a minute's walk away and dog friendly all the year around.

At low tide there are plenty of rock pools to explore and shells to collect. When you return to the house you can cook your favourite meal in the fully equipped kitchen, whilst your family relax in the open plan living and dining area. There's plenty of hot water and central heating if the weather is a bit chilly.

Once the sun has set, you can watch Sky on television or log into the WiFi, a selection of board games/cards and jigsaw puzzles are also provided. If you fancy a go at surfing, why not join the Harlyn Surf School to learn how to ride the waves. Harlyn Bay has heaps of space for fun and games, when the swell is big, take advantage of some of the best surf waves of any of the beaches in Cornwall, suitable for all levels. If you fancy a round of golf, then Trevose Golf and Country Club is worth a visit, a links course with spectacular views across Constantine Bay.

Your base at No 1 the Mews is brilliant for exploring the North Cornwall coast with Padstow less than 10 minute drive away. Enjoy an ice-cream sat around the harbour or treat yourself to a little something from Rick Stein's shop. From the harbour at Padstow there are many boating options, from the ferry to Rock, vintage speedboats or a sight seeing voyage on the Jubilee Queen, where you can often see seals and dolphins. If you want to go further afield, Newquay's famous Fistral Beach is only 14 miles down the coast.

If you're looking for fine dining, then a visit to The Pig is a must. Around 2 minutes drive and 12 minutes walk and with amazing sea views, lots of character and meals using local produce, they also have the Lobster Shack where you can savour plates of lobster and old school ice cream sundies.

Why they chose this property

I have so many happy memories of Harlyn, my beloved grandmother rented a house on the headland for years. I have been coming down since I was tiny, she taught me to swim (well, I use the word lightly, she chucked me into a large rock pool where I promptly sunk, but I forgave her). She was simply fabulous, strutting into the sea with her wooden surfboard, resplendent in a flower covered swimming cap, swimming out, and often past, the wetsuit clad "dudes". I have two Jack Russell's who love the beach, which is dog friendly all the year around, I just release them and they find a pack to join. Harlyn really is dog heaven.

What makes this property unique

I think the house is unique due to it's close proximity to the beach, you can take a cup of coffee out with you and pop back in a few minutes. I have made every effort to ensure that the house is as welcoming as possible, for guests and their dogs. I have tried to provide as much as I can, from a high chair to a travel cot to champagne glasses!
