Bathroom: Bath With Shower Over, Toilet. Gas central heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Travel cot and highchair. Front garden with sitting out area. No smoking. Please note: There are 3 steps in the garden.. This cottage offers a delightful retreat for families or friends wanting to explore this fascinating region. The cottage features a porch at the front, leading into a cosy sitting room with a dining area. On cooler days, you can relax by the lovely electric fire. The well-equipped kitchen provides everything needed to prepare delicious meals. Upstairs, you’ll find two charming bedrooms – one double and one twin. The twin bedroom has a low door entrance. It also features original beams that add character. The accommodation is completed with a modern family bathroom. Outside, the cottage has two patios: one at the front with seating, and a raised rear patio, accessible via galvanised steel steps, where you can enjoy a refreshing drink and take in the fresh air.
The stunning village of Castleton, located at the head of the Hope Valley, offers a gateway to some of the Peak District’s best walking terrain. Rich in history, the village is home to the impressive Norman Peveril Castle Keep, which stands watch over the village. Castleton attracts walkers and outdoor enthusiasts alike, drawn by its scenic paths, the challenge of Winnats Pass, and the opportunity to try caving. Famous for its show caves and the rare Blue John stone, which is only found and mined here, Castleton is a must-visit destination. The village also features a delightful selection of unique gift shops, pubs, tea rooms, and an excellent Visitor Centre, complete with a small museum showcasing life in the Hope Valley. During December, the village is especially popular for its festive Christmas lights and activities.
