Anniversary Getaway

Very spacious homes with amazing views from the back porches where we spent every moment possible looking down on the river rolling by. Great areas to cook both on grill and/or blackstone griddle. Close proximity to the downtown area in Elijay for shopping, lunch or drinks. Very nice area and we will definitely bring the family back for a stay at the Twin Homes!!

Amazing property

The view from the cabins were absolutely stunning. Most of the time was spent out on the decks overlooking the river. The cabins were clean, well stocked with all the essentials, and made for a very enjoyable stay. Communication with the owner was great and I would definitely look to stay here again if my travels bring me back to the area.

Relaxing

The homes are beautiful, both with a one of a kind deck overhang that puts you right on the waters edge! It's truly amazing! Our family enjoyed lots of fishing right outside the door. The one day it rained all day with chilly temperatures but not to worry we got some firewood for the inside wood burning firepit and watched some old movies! While staying at the cabin we saw a momma Fox with her 6 babies on the hillside, the babies put on quiet a show for us playing, pouncing, tackling one another. We kept our distance and watched them for probably over an hour. While driving through the neighborhood and higher up on the hills there are tons of Deer that have no fear, my daughter kept trying to pet one while reaching her arm out of the window to explain how close they actually are. I havent seen our family all together without a device in front of their face in a long time! Perfect.

Secluded amazing homes!

This is such a nice place to be, we were very pleased with the property on the river. Sitting on the front deck day or night was most relaxing. Very comfortable beds, and everything you need to cook any meal right in the kitchen. Beautifully decorated!!!! Thanks to Amy’s kindness we had no problem getting to the location, no problem checking in or out!! We would like be to go back.

Solid property in Ellijay

The strengths of this property are many. The views are gorgeous. The properties are very close and good for groups that want to be close but have some space. There are some elements of the property/experience that were more challenging to manage, but those were generally annoyances as opposed to a major deterrence. Those elements included: the gate agent not having our reservation, host sending wrong directions, dirty dishes in dishwasher and laundry upon arrival (causing odor), and temperamental stovetop/burners.

Weekend Getaway

We had a great time at the twin cabins! Awesome property with several different areas to hang out. The view of the river was beautiful and the property felt very secluded. I would definitely recommend this listing for a weekend getaway with friends or family.

Awesome weekend

The owners are very responsive. The houses are wonderful, well supplied with the basics. It was clean, comfortable, and very relaxing. There was room to spread out or hang out together. The 10 of us had a wonderful time hanging out on the decks and in the river. We’d highly recommend this getaway property.

Best river view and access

Everyone from kids to grandparents enjoyed our stay. The river view and the river access were the best we’ve seen in Coosawattee River Resort. If tubing the river is on your list of things to do then this is the best place. You can drive to Riverside Park and get in and get out about 2-3 hours later at the house. Many houses have river access but they have overgrown trees and bushes. This home has clean rocks and multiple stairways out of the river. If you just like relaxing then you have upstream and downstream views because of the river bend. And this property is just off of the main drive in the resort. No difficult or steep gravel roads. Also lots of east parking area. The owners are very nice and great to work with.

Summer Family Trip

Great cabins for large families! Enough room for six adults and seven kids. Great location along the river. Great for tubing. Kids loved hot tub, fire pit and being able to fish. Would definitely go back.

We came up for our oldest birthday. His 3rd in Heaven and he turned the big 16 so i knew i needed to get away from the familiar. The cabins were just what my heart needed. Lots of memories made lots of tears and laughs THE gazebo is where i stayed most of the time. We caught a few fish too. Amy and her hubby were so helpful and nice

We own four cabins in the Coosawattee River Resort, these two, Trout Trap - https://www.vrbo.com/109998 and River Lodge on Fir - https://www.vrbo.com/583476. All the cabins are catered to large groups and are located directly on the river.

Why they chose this property

The word “Ellijay” is an Anglicized form of a Cherokee word, perhaps meaning "place of green things" or "many waters." This would make a lot of sense considering this is the place where the Ellijay and Cartecay Rivers meet forming the Coosawattee River. The Coosawattee and Mountaintown come together and flow into Carter’s Lake: A gorgeous recreational lake developed by the Corps of Engineers. This region abounds with wildlife, including deer, wild turkeys, bears, eagles, and hawks. The Rivers are a favorite for trout fishermen or feel free to our stocked fishing pond within the resort.
