Fully furnished! The Appalachian Cabin is a one bedroom one bath cabin surrounded by woods with 744 sf of living space. The private master bedroom is spacious with a king size bed and full bath. The living room features a stone wood burning fireplace, flat screen TV and sliding glass doors opening up to a private deck. The dining area is next to the well equipped kitchen which also leads to the private deck. On the deck you can cook dinner on the gas grill, relax in the rocking chairs or soak in your own private hot tub. Accommodates two people. Please come and enjoy a quiet getaway.

Mountain cabin

This is a nice weekend get away for 1-2 people. There is enough cookware, silverware, plates and cups, to cook a “simple” dinner for 2. Bring all the comforts of home ie: corkscrew, soaps, detergents, any thing you think you may need. The wood burning fire place is wonderful but with this comes a little ash and dust. If you are fragile or expect a fully furnished house and someone to kiss your butt, it may not be the place for you. The hot tub was warm and clean. - I will be staying here again. For the size and price it be tall 4 stars over all!!

Vrbo is great

The property was not clean it was so dusty in our house but we slept good had hot water. The wi fi never work. The grill had food in tin foil still in it. The oven was too dirty to use. Spiders and webs in tub. Floors could use a good mopping. We love the wooded area. The porches r great and we use hot tub one time it has sand in it but we took a quick dip one morning. Coffee maker was still on with dirty filter and burnt Coffee in pot I clean it out. We love the location. Thank you for a wonderful weekend

Cute but needs a deep cleaning and more cooking supplies

I want to start by saying we had an enjoyable weekend but we will not be renting this cabin again. This place needs a deep cleaning. There were dirty washcloths left on the shower curtain rod, dead bugs around the bathroom and kitchen sinks, and thick layers of dirt/dust on the baseboards, either side of the fireplace and under the bed (I dropped something and had the unfortunate experience of seeing the filth under the bed our last day there). The sheets on the bed were cheap and kept coming off the bed while sleeping. There are no baking sheets to heat up frozen food in the oven and the microwave is only 700 watts and old. There were no toiletries for the bathroom or basic needs for the kitchen. The cabin is hard to find, even in the daytime. I messaged the owner to see if I could get help locating the cabin and was messaged back with "it is halfway up the mountain with a sign that says Appalachian Cabin". First off, I had never been there before so I didn't know how far the mountain went up. Secondly, the sign they were referring to was not a big sign. It came up just past my ankle and was located at the end of the driveway. When going up a mountain in an SUV you cannot see that sign. The sign on the door was not visible from the road. I am not one to leave negative reviews but feel this owner and future renters need to be made aware of these complaints.

Cute space but needs cleaning

Upon arrival I was pretty shocked by how dusty the cabin was. There was dust everywhere. I do recommend bringing your own comforter,sheets,pillows and towels. Everything is pretty musky. The cabin is very cute! The hot tub was very nice except for it overlooked our neighbors below. The drive to the cabin could be a bit tricky for someone not used to mountain roads... its very narrow and curvy! While visiting there was a storm which caused the town to lose power. We ended up having to leave a day early. The owner kept in constant contact with us about the power outage and even helped me get a refund for the night that we didn't get to stay. All in all...IF the cabin had a VERY good deep clean I would rent it again.

The kitchen needs to be stocked with bit more dishes. It also needs new sliding doors and new blinds and curtains.. Also could use a paint job inside.

Great getaway.

We had a little problem finding the cabin do to our gps. I called the owner and was promptly directed straight to the cabin. The road up was well maintained but was very steep. The cabin was cute and comfortable. We felt at home as soon as we walked in. The cabin was well equipped with all comforts of home. The hot tub was great. Would definitely come back again!

Terribly filthy

The cabin was filthy. Other reviews said that it was dirty, but we thought it might not be that bad. We'll we were wrong. We spent 2 hours cleaning when we got there just to make it to where we felt comfortable being there. There was pieced of food on the floor from the last people that stayed there. The 1 thing we really wanted was a hot tub, which it had, but it was disgusting. We couldn't see a lot on the 1st night because it was late and dark, but when we got in, we noticed some kind of odor. Well the next morning we were able to see a line of filth all the way around the tub. I have no idea when the last time it was cleaned was. And there was a leak under the house. I tried messaging the owner, but got no response. We juat wanted to be able to celebrate our 20 year anniversary, but instead we wasted our money. We will not be going back here or any other place owned by this owner. Clearly they don't care about what people think.

We really enjoyed this cabin. It was very roomy. The only negative, I have to say is, the cabin really needs a deep clean. It wasn't as clean, as I think it should be. Dusty, cob webs, and needs to smell clean, when you walk in. Over-all, I would stay here again.

Cabin birthday weekend

I wish it was cleaner. Cob webs that have been there awhile. The floors were dirty. This cabin was bare bones. I did wash our sheets after seeing how the place was cleaned. Haven’t been anywhere in a while due to Covid. It’s a great place just needs a deep cleaning. Disappointed this was for my birthday and ended up having to wash the bedding

Not for a Harley

Manager/owner told me property was suitable for motorcycle. Not true. Boyfriend was not happy. House was not very clean but I enjoyed my stay overall. Nice hot tub. Nice shower. Comfortable bed. Nice spot just not easy to access with a trailer and or Harley

Perfect for us

The location is perfect and the cabin is so secluded and cozy. It’s got dust here and there but it has delightful character. We will definitely be back to enjoy the beautiful fireplace in the fall/winter.

This place need a good cleaning!!! Even though you pay a cleaning fee, doesn't look like they are cleaning it. Door handle on sliding door broken. Sent owner a message and he stated they would get on it. After reviewing some of the reviews I noticed this same door handle was broke in a previous review. There are cob webs everywhere. Dead bugs everywhere. Dishes, what little there are, were dirty. My best advice is to choose another location. This could be a great place to stay if only they would invest some time and effort in just cleaning the place.

We don't get to have much quality time to ourselves so this was absolutely wonderful. Very romantic and the hot tub...OMG, so relaxing. This experience has made up decide to go to the mountains every year!! Beautiful experience

Great for a weekend getaway

This cabin is great for a weekend getaway. Our only suggestion for improvement would be to update the bed or get a mattress topper. The bed was extremely hard and we had difficulty sleeping. Overall the rest of the cabin was pretty well as described. The sliding glass door we never got to open but that wasn't a huge thing. The location is perfect and within minutes from everything in Chimney Rock. We were worried about our car after reading reviews saying you needed a truck or four-wheel drive, but I can tell you this is not the case. The road is completely paved and we had no issues whatsoever. Communication with the owner was better than expected. We would definitely rent again.

Cabin in the woods

You'll never find this place in the dark. Took an hour of searching house to house. No instructions. No return calls from contact. Upon arrival door knob almost falling off. Sliding door to deck broken so had to access by kitchen door all weekend. Cow webs in corners. Broken furniture. All in all not very kept up for the price. Will not rent this one again..
