The house was great and just what we needed our quick birthday weekend celebration. This house is an easy drive from Boston, allowing friends to do a day trip. They met us at the house for a visit before we did an escape room and dinner in downtown Portsmouth. Due to the weather we opted to drive and park, but this would have been an easy walk. While we didn’t utilize the upstairs bedrooms they were nice. One thing to note the stairs were narrow and steep and our dog didn’t like to navigate them. This house has the characteristics of an older house, making it feel very cozy. They have made some nice updates that it feel modern. We plan to keep this house in mind for future family getaways.
My husband and I flew from California to join our daughter, son in law and granddaughter for Christmas. This property is an old New England house updated for modern use. It’s located on a lake (pond?) which is more likely useful during summer months. It was very cold for us so we didn’t walk in to downtime Portsmouth but that was not a fault of the property. We had a wonderful stay and the owners were terrific.
Wonderful property that was spacious, clean, had tons of amenities and in a fantastic location for easy walking to downtown with a short drive to groceries and other shopping. Loved it and hope to stay longer on our next visit to the area.
Cozy, 3-story, pet-friendly, and clean. Walkable to town and quiet area on tidal pond. Great furnishings and amenities as described. Ample parking for two. Steps to second and third floors are steep and narrow as expected for a home this age.
We stayed here for our annual girl’s weekend getaway. The house is absolutely adorable and there was plenty of room for the five of us. Everything we could have possibly needed was present and the short walk into downtown Portsmouth was super quick! The few times we needed to communicate with the owner she responded quickly and was able to resolve our questions. We had a great weekend!
Michelle's property was absolutely perfect for our family and weekend plans. It was walking distance to so many amazing restaurants and shops.
The house itself was filled with sunlight and warmth. The furniture was extremely comfortable as well.
Michelle was quick to respond to any inquiry we made, and she made some nice recommendations of places to go.
Thank you, Michelle.
This house was perfect for a group trip with multiple king beds and twins as well. The house was very clean and check in and check out instructions were clear and easy. Definitely would recommend.
We had a great weekend in Portsmouth. The property is in a great location- short walk to downtown Portsmouth, yet tucked away on a quiet side street. The property listing was accurate and we enjoyed the character of the old house.
We enjoyed our stay in this historic 1800s home. It is situated in a small neighborhood within walking distance to great shopping and excellent restaurants. Our dogs loved it, and our Shih Tzu teeny made many new friends that walked daily down to the dog park. The only thing we would caution you is that the parking is very expensive and if you don’t mind the walk you will save yourself a lot of money.
We were in Portsmouth for my son’s wedding and this was a wonderful place to stay! There was plenty of room for everyone, it was clean, had an abundance of good quality, thick towels, great location very close to downtown, and we enjoyed the nice patio in back of house.
The 4 of us (2 older couples) love staying here—within walking distance to downtown, close to Maine and there are lobsters and clams! What a great vacation (although both our families were impacted by Hurricane Helene in Florida, so we were stressed). Thank you for hosting us—we hope to return next year!
We really enjoyed our stay at this well appointed home. My husband and I stayed with our son and his wife and our daughter. We were in town for a family wedding at Wentworth by the Sea.
This home is very well equipped We highly recommend! Thank you, Michelle!

We stayed at this property for a wedding weekend and it was perfect. Plenty of parking, lots of space, a well-equipped kitchen and super comfy beds. My two teenagers had their own spaces and we were a five minute drive to downtown Portsmouth. Communication with the host was perfect. I highly recommend this property. Thank you.
We had such a great stay at Michelle’s property. We had 4 adults and 2 young children and had plenty of space with 2 1/2 bathrooms, large living room, and multiple outdoor spaces. The home was very clean and had all the amenities we needed and more. Quiet street/neighborhood right by a tidal river, and a less than 10-minute walk to downtown Portsmouth that has wonderful stores, bars and restaurants. We also enjoyed a fun harbor cruise that was just a 15-minute walk from the house. A local neighbor recommended New Castle beach which was less than a 15-minute drive, and it was perfect for the kids with no crowds, a playground, tide pools and bathroom. We went there every day! Michelle was incredibly responsive and made sure our stay was was perfect. As noted in other reviews, the steps to upstairs floors are steep, but our nearly 3- and 5-year olds managed just fine. We hope to come back!
Our stay was everything we expected and more. The property is a nicely updated and well maintained older home with exceptional character. We particularly enjoyed the beautiful kitchen, back patio, and front porch. The grill is a nice feature, and the kitchen is very well appointed with everything you will need if you decide to cook and eat in. This great Portsmouth house has everything needed for a wonderful stay that is within walking distance of all the Downtown Portsmouth area has to offer. The manager is available and responds quickly to questions and any needs you may encounter. We will definitely be returning the next time Portsmouth is on our vacation list!
We really enjoyed our stay at this property. Although the home is an older home, it has been updated in the necessary areas and was veryclean and organized. The location was terrific. You can walk downtown to restaurants and shops in less than 10 minutes.
Michelle, the owner i believe was great, very communicative. We would definitely stay again, and probably will. We had a terrific stay.
Thank you Michelle!
