About this property

Located on the third floor of Kauhale Makai this well-furnished and fully stocked 1 bed/1 bath condo is available to rent to couples or families with the provided sleeper sofa allowing for four adults to stay together comfortably.
You are just a few feet away from a wonderful beach where you can stand up paddleboard, snorkel or kayak. Swim in the ocean or just relax with your toes in the sand.
This condo was remodeled from head to toe in December of 2017 with new appliances and finishes throughout. Beach towels, linens and toiletries are provided for guests to use while staying at Kauhale Makai. All the needed resort-style amenities are here including tropical landscaping leading to a gorgeous pool area featuring a large main pool, hot-tub and shallow wading pool for small children. There are outdoor gas-grills ready to cook on and tables for outdoor picnicking.
Inside the unit, there is powerful A/C and a fan to keep cool. The condo kitchen has anything you would need for cooking at home including a dishwasher and full-sized refrigerator. Cable TV and Wi-Fi are provided and there are beach chairs and a cooler for enjoying the many fabulous beaches nearby. There is a large green lawn for an afternoon nap in the sun or relaxing in the shade of a palm tree. You can fish off the beach right outside or in the shallows directly in front of the building. Hawaii 24 vacay

This property had lots of room and was probably nice once. Lack of attention to details left it grungy, shabby, dinghy. There was a broken tile covered by a dirty rug. The couch and chair were worn and stained. The outdoor furniture was coming apart, tiles missing on the lanai. Bathroom vent was filled with dirt, rugs were stained. Information on check in was inaccurate. Communication with the owner was poor We got locked out of the unit due to a faulty key pad. It was 2 hours before the owner contacted us and another hour getting the problem fixed. We had a car and we were able to drive to restaurants, grocery, etc. Nothing within easy walking distance. The grounds and pool were nice though the pool was closed for repairs the last day there (not mentioned at booking). Overall I cannot recommend.

A very nice Condo

Great patio for watching sunsets. Clean and comfortable. We locked ourselves out once, but owners was quick to get us back in.

Convenient and comfortable

The condo is very conveniently located and was comfortable for two. We had everything we needed. There are some minor issues that need attention (flickering light in hall, closet doors, and bathroom sink drain). The view from the balcony is beautiful.

Nice location, comfortable condo

We liked the location and amenities of this condo. The condo was clean with a very comfortable bed and nice shower, along with a great patio and view. The price was right as well. The constructive criticism we have with this property is that the condo needs some upgrading. Tiles in the kitchen and patio were loose, missing and/or broken, the beach chairs needed replacing, and the deck chairs were coming apart. The stove was frustrating to cook on, due to inconsistent heating elements. Please don’t get us wrong, we had a wonderful stay, but it would have been better with a little TLC.

We spent the middle third of our time in Maui in this well located condo in Kihei. You’re a short walk to the beach for great sunsets. We were also able to use the gas grills conveniently located on the property. The beach chairs were also very helpful. This cozy little condo fit our needs for our time there.

Very expensive for what you get.

Ton of ants, it was an okay property, 2 to 3 stars out of 5. During our stay, we compared costs to staying in Kaanapali and it just seemed like it would have been worth the extra money for the location/ammenities.

Beautiful property

We really loved this property, excellent location near the beach where we swam with turtles! Nice pool and excellent bbq area. Well maintained condo with large balcony. Would definitely stay here again!

This property was all that it claimed to be. Beautiful beach & sunset views and a 1 minute walk to the beach from this unit. The grounds and pool are very well kept with the maintenance staff constantly present. Great location in Kihei and looking forward to our next visit. We would stay in this unit again if it is available.

Very enjoyable stay

We found the condo to be lovely. The grounds were kept and the pools were very nice. We loved the evenings on the lanai watching the sunset. The condo was very clean and well stocked. The bed was comfortable. The ac worked well enough. If I was to nitpick, there’s some minor maintenance that could be done. Loose towel bar, sliding door lock needs adjustment, tile on the lanai not complete. These are all minor things that didn’t effect our stay one bit. We found the condo was priced very well and had no regrets with our choice.

No bad days in Maui

We loved our stay at Scott’s condo. It was perfect for my husband and I to use as our home base for our week in Maui. We especially loved having our breakfasts on the lanai with the great views of the ocean. Scott was very quick to respond whenever I had a question.

Gem of a property !

The unit was clean and the location was perfect. Pool and hot tub great and a nice lawn area for smaller children to enjoy. Our grandson who lives here came over and enjoyed putting the golf balls in the hole on the lawn area. We would stay again given the opportunity. Host Scott was communicative and no issue on the check in or check out. Highly recommend !

Wonderful views

The condo was nicely decorated and stocked with kitchen necessities. The deck was large with beautiful views of the grounds, ocean and mountains. Only small negative was the road noise at night from the balcony but wasn't a major problem. Would definitely stay again.
