Beautiful home and beautiful property. But the best part were things you don’t see. You can feel the family history in this home, there is a warmth you feel just walking in. My daughter visited and mentioned it feels like grandma’s. Darryl our host was kind and attentive. Hope we get to come back soon. Highly recommended for a couple or small family.
The property was well maintained and has a great location for anybody wanting to get away from the hustle and bustle of every day life. A quiet and comfortable farm house with a great sunset view. 10/10 would recommend.
From check in to check out everything was wonderful. Everything you need and more is available. Extremely clean. Family came by and were able to have dinner with us and loved the house and property. It was a great trip. Look forward to staying there again when we visit again.
The house is beautiful along with the property, very serene.
Darrell is a wonderful host, he met us to check us in. The location of the house is exactly what we were looking for. The house is beautiful, the family history is amazing. We’ll definitely book this house again!!
We absolutely love this property. Darrell the owner was very kind and responsive. The place was exactly as described, well actually better than describe! Made us feel right at home. We will definitely be staying here again when we come to see her grandson who lives near Fort Bragg.
Quiet property on 60+ acres, nicely renovated and quite comfortable. Convenient for visiting family in the Ft Bragg area. Host very responsive. Highly recommended, will definitely return. The horses were a nice bonus!
This is one of the best properties I have ever stayed in. A wonderful 100 yr old farm house on 60 beautiful acres. Nicely updated but still has the farm house feel. Darrell couldn’t be a more congenial host! I’d give it 10 stars if I could!
This 101 year old farmhouse is perfect. It was so much nicer than staying in a hotel room. It’s so peaceful. And Mr. Salmon makes the whole process extremely easy. Just a wonderful place.
This is a lovingly restored 101 year old farmhouse sitting on 62 acres. The house is beautiful as is the setting. I have never seen a VRBO rental so well equipped. It is very comfortable, very quiet and yet only a few miles from anything you might need. The host is super nice and helpful and met us at check-in to show us around and answer any questions. Front porch is perfect place to enjoy coffee while also enjoying the rocking chairs. Hope we get to stay here every time we are in the area.
We went for a local wedding and stayed for 4 days. The place, location and host were first class. Would highly recommend a stay. We loved the farm house and surroundings very much.
Such a nice home with gracious hosts. Property IS as advertised, and even more. This property comes HIGHLY recommended.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
We had a wonderful time here! We had a short 3 night stay and wish we could have stayed longer. We had 2 infants with us who absolutely loved the horses. The deck was perfect for barbequing and relaxing. If we are ever in the area again we will definitely check if Darrell's property is available first!
This property is absolutely beautiful! It is well maintained, spacious and full of history. It's close to town but tucked away enough to relax and enjoy the stars in the night sky. The host is kind, accessible and accommodating. We would recommend staying in this slice of NC and we'd definitely stay again!
My husband and I, along with my mother, stayed at the Salmon farmhouse for a long weekend to visit our kids and grands who live in Sanford. Oh, we only wish we would have found this spot 8 years ago when our kids were posted to Fort Bragg! The location is perfect, the house is extremely clean and well-maintained, the property is beautifully landscaped, and Darrell, the host, is very friendly and helpful.
The kitchen is supplied with everything you might possibly need---from dishes to cookware to paper products and staples. The beds were the most comfortable we have ever slept on!
Darrell also met us at the horse pasture and let our grandkids get acquainted with the horses. They loved it!
If you are in the Fort Bragg/Lillington area and need a place to stay, pass on the hotels and contact Darrell. You will have a wonderfully refreshing and peaceful visit.
Our stay was wonderful. Checking in with Darrell was easy and the guided tour was helpful. We loved being close to Raven Rock State Park and took several hikes there. The property was well maintained and had everything we needed. Being able to walk around the farm and see the horses was fun for our kids and us. Definitely a great trip for our family.
