Eight of us traveled to Iceland - four parents, and four of our kids, aged from 15 to 24 (two boys, two girls). The sheer size of the apartment was perfect. The boys shared a bedroom, the girls another, and the parents in the other two. We had PLENTY of space.
The kitchen, cupboards and extra bathroom (toilet only, with external sink) kept people from arguing about inconveniences when getting ready, showering, or needing to go to the bathroom.
We only used the kitchen for preparing coffee and washing things, but the fridge, countertop, large table, and pantry storage were utilized daily.
The smart TV was great to decompress after some VERY long days.
The apartment is one block away from Bonus, coffee shops and bakeries. We walked EVERYWHERE downtown - including restaurants and shopping - with almost everything in Reykjavik between 5 to 20 minutes away. Old Harbour was a longer walk, but we still did it. We only took a taxi once.
The decor is eclectic and some things seem dated. The neighborhood seemed a little scary at first, but we got comfortable in the location very quickly.
However, we all agreed that it was the perfect place for us at the perfect price and excellent location to the city.
The free parking was a huge plus, and Runar was VERY responsive to any and all of my questions. He always immediately answered all of my questions before and during the trip.
I highly recommend this location for a large family who wants to stay in Reykjavik.
