This is a really nice property. It is clean. VERY well stocked with everything we needed to prepare and serve meals. So far, the best we have stayed at as far as kitchen needs. There are plenty of linens. The beds are very comfortable.
It is right on the beach and we could walk for quite a distance. The views from the house and deck are great. We saw eagles, blue heron, sea lions and a big buck on the road. It is private and quiet. The few people that came down to our end of the beach were very friendly.
Plenty of seating on the deck. Being summer we ate outside which was very enjoyable. And nice that there is an umbrella covering the table to protect from the bird "fly-overs"!
There is a very small grocery store on the island. It has most of the basics. And yes, it is pricey but that is understandable as they must bring all supplies over and they pay more for their inventory than big stores. And believe me, when you forget the pizza sauce, getting a substitute there was a lot cheaper and less time consuming then the short ferry ride to the mainland.
If there was anything I would like to see added is a small dining table in the large family area next to the kitchen that could seat 4 + people. The dining room is quite formal and with kids it's not an area I would want to use for meals, especially if we were there in the winter and couldn't eat outside, because the floor under the table and chairs is carpeted with a very light-colored carpet, and accidents can happen, even with well-behaved kids and adults.
Virginia, the property manager, is very cordial and responsive. Thanks to her for helping oversee this property and ensure its in good shape.
I hope all who visit respect and take good care of the property so that it remains a great place to stay!
I would definitely stay here again. It was a pleasurable and comfortable four days.
