Whistler True Ski In/Out

Great location! This unit is a true ski in/out with the lifts just being a quick 30 second ride down the mountain and skiing back in was a blue-green or green run! Condo was nice and clean, very very good location! We will be staying here again on our next trip!

Great for a family!

Great spot, perfect layout for a family with kids. Only thing I noted was there are few basics staples I would have anticipated the condo having (bring your own olive oil, sponge, and hand soap for the kitchen - we left what we purchased for the next guest). Other than that it was fantastic, the check in was easy and we took advantage of the Ski Butlers - huge bonus!

Warm condo and good location

This is a good condo and a nice location in Woodrun. It's in good condition although the fireplace wasn't working. It's a very warm unit and could use a room AC unit for the bunkroom. The bathroom was mostly clean but did have a little mold in the shower. Biggest problem we had was trying to use the ski lockers because the combination locks wouldn't open even after several tries. Changing the ski locker to a different system should be a priority because many people were having trouble.

Quick weekend getaway

We did have a few problems from the start (ie. no toaster; en-suite shower didn’t work; no air conditioning) but Harmony was very attentive and ensured the issues (aside from AC) we’re resolved as quickly as possible. It was a bit tight for our group of 9 (4 adults and 5 children) but we made it work- we were happy to have a little getaway. A bit of a treck to the village but we managed fine. Thank you for having us

Great apartment

Major concerns with kitchen utensils. Knives dull and Teflon frying pans dangerously flaking. Also dining table chair leather cracked and uncomfortable. A bathroom picture was missing leaving exposed nail hooks. So more upkeep for this price of property would be appreciated considering the price paid. Everything was clean though and the location is of course the primary draw. So I rate it 4 stars due to neglected upkeep.

Great location but terrible property managers...

In terms of ski in / ski out property, this is tough to beat. Really cool 2bth/3bd unit. Unfortunately, management of the unit was poor to say the least. 8 visitors for 6 nights and the fireplace worked for 0 of 6 nights, the building jacuzzi was open for 4 of 6 nights, and we were supplied with 1 roll of paper towels and 4 rolls of toilet paper... for 6 nights! Stingy on the essentials, for quite the fee to stay. Really disappointed an investment in this property was not geared towards the guests visiting. Needless to say, I will not be back I would much rather stay at a hotel where I will be treated like a guest and where the burden of clean up upon departure will not be on me, despite paying a hefty clean up fee.

Fabulous location, great unit, but needs some updates and amenities

Overall a lovely stay, and recommend. Pros: Management company - amazing mgmt company and they are very responsive and accommodating. Location - terrific location, even for summer. I can imagine this being the bomb to stay in with its direct access location to the slopes. Spacious rooms, decently well appointed furniture, lots of kitchen utensils and crockery. Cons: Living room furniture needs replacement. The dining room chairs were tearing as well as the bar stools. The couch in the balcony was super saggy showing its age. In apt amenities - I've never stayed in a VRBO type location where there isn't basic kitchen things like salt, pepper, cooking oil. I strongly suggest adding these basic necessities. Fans/AC - There were 2 fans provided but one of them worked intermittently and almost broken down and the other one was el-cheapo and didn't do much. Given the 3rd room has no windows, its important to provide at least 2 fans that are newer and powerful just for this room. The A/C in the master bedroom was attached totally ghetto - with cardboard taped to the window. By the end of the 3 day stay there was water pooling all around the AC unit.

Needs some changes

The best part of this rental experience was the living room and dining space, cozy balcony and large king suite space. However, none of that could make up for the horrible sleeps and disparity between the king room and the queen room. The queen room is small with two dim lamps and the most uncomfortable bed that shakes with the smallest of movement from your partner. The only furniture in the room is a bed and two night tables. There is no dresser drawer for clothes or even a stand for suitcases, so you live out of your suitcase on the floor with dim lighting. It’s the only bedroom without a TV which may not matter unless if you’d like to have your own bedroom to retreat to. The first night I could not sleep even with laying on top of a comforter. I ended up on the couch at 4am to try to get some sleep. I called Harmony Whistler to see if there was a mattress topper or other solution but was told there was nothing they could do and suggested that I switch beds with our friends in the king suite or with the kids in the den (more about the den later). We discovered that the king bed had a mattress topper and our friends let us use it for the next night. This did help a great deal, however, the king bed was two singles pushed together and were very old which was noticeable without the mattress topper. We also discovered two pairs of dirty underwear from a previous visitor under the mattress. Our friends staying in the king room are tall (husband 6’2”) and since the beds are t

Great location, but pool/hot tub facilities often not working

I hate to leave negative reviews, so I will keep that part to the end (subject a bit of a spoiler). First off, you just can't beat the Woodrun's slope side location! It is so amazing to just park the car for a week, and ski right to your door. It makes the day to day so much easier, and you can even come back mid day to stop for lunch, take a break, change skis - whatever you want. My kids often like to just ski part of the day, and this was so easy accommodate. The unit was big enough and had all we needed. The kids room was very hot, even in March, and with no windows, it was hard to cool, but they didn't seem to mind. Now the challenging bit, we have been staying at the Woodrun for many many years, and unfortunately both of the last 2 years, DURING SPRING BREAK the pool facilities (pool this year, hot tub last year) have been shut down. My kids LOVE swimming after a day of skiing, and the hot tub is almost a medical requirement for me. I feel like a fool for having gone back here after last years experience, but I couldn't believe it would happen again. The owners/strata of the the Woodrun clearly aren't spending enough to keep their maintenance up to date to reliably operate what their owners are advertising the property has to offer. I do hold the management company culpable as well because they knew the pool was closed, while I was still in my cancellation timing, yet the ad for the place never removed POOL from the first few words in the description. We won't be staying at the Woodrun next year - how could I live it down if the facilities broke again. But will keep our eye on this property for possible future stays, to see if they sort out both their maintenance spending issues and their approach to ethical advertising.

411 Woodrun review

Here are our pros and cons for our stay at 411 Woodrun in late August. We had 2 children & 2 couples staying: PROs: 1) Easy check-in and they let us check in early since the place was done being cleaned. 2) Plenty of pillows, towels, kitchen supplies, TP, etc. Well stocked! 3) Pretty easy walk down to Blackcomb village. Just remember in the summer it is a steep dirt path you walk up and down. About a 5-7min walk down. 4) Blackcomb village is great! Little shops, kid things to do (bounce house, climbing wall, etc), little grocery store (open until 8) and good food. 5) There was an AC window unit in the main bedroom. I would say it worked okay. There is cardboard in the window for the venting system but wasn't sealed off and condensation on the carpet. It kept just that room cool enough to sleep in. Cons: 1) I didn't realize that the bedroom with the bunkbeds has NO windows, so there is no circulation in this room and I didn't feel very safe having my kids stay in there. I thought you can't call a room with no windows a "bedroom." They should call this out in the listing so everyone is aware. 2) Due to the shape of the unit (u-shaped) & location of the unit, it gets very hot in there. We were there in late Aug and the highs were in the 70's and this place never cooled down below mid 70s, even with all the windows open and fans going day and night. This was especially bad for the bunkbed room with no windows. It was at least 80 in that one room the entire time. We even kept our front door propped open the whole time we were there to help with circulation. 3) They provided 3 fans, but 1 was broken and one the highest speed didn't work. 4) The 2nd room (queen bed only) the window only opens at the top, so again there is now airflow into this room, keeping this room also hot. 5) I know the rental company has nothing to do with this, but it does need to be mentioned that the pool was closed while we were there on a weekend. They had to drain it due to cleanliness. This was a bummer because we did rent this place for the pool. If you are really wanting a pool,I wouldn't recommend depending on this one being open. 6) Beds are firm and wiggly. Just keep this in mind. Not terrible, but if there is a "mover" sleeping with you, it might wake you up.
