Tons of Room & Great for large families

Great say if you are coming and going from Yellowstone. Especially if there are several families staying together. Lots of room. We felt it could have been cleaned better, especially the floors. Didn't look like the floor especially under the fridge had been cleaned in sometime.

Yellowstone visit

We chose this place with its proximity to Yellowstone. It was only a short 15 minute drive to the entrance. The house fit all of our needs. The host was very prompt with responding to any questions. We had an issue with the hot tub, but it was able to be fixed in under 24 hours. The layout was a bit unconventional, but didn’t bother us much.

Perfect cabin near Yellowstone

Cabin was clean and had more space than needed for our family of 5. It was a short drive to West Yellowstone. Howard Spring is just east of the Cabin on HWY 20 and people were stopping to get water. We tried the mountain spring water and it tasted great.

Comfortable Stay - Some Cleanliness and Logistic Issues

A comfortable stay and we made the property work for us, but not without some work on our part due to maintenance issues and some property design issues. When we arrived late, there was a management person just entering or leaving the house. This was 4-5 hours after our allowed check-in time. She said she was just making a final check on the property. Not a huge issue but odd that it happened so late. The heater in the main floor bedroom was not working (thankfully we didn't need it). Several light bulbs were either missing or not working, the refrigerator water filter showed it was ready to be replaced, upstairs bedroom blinds were in need of repair, ice maker was frozen over so no ice was available, upstairs lamp switch is broken, etc. Other property issues to note. The living room area is upstairs so is separated from the kitchen so it is not easy to have everyone relaxing and living in a common space. The kitchen table area is pretty small so it takes some shuffling of people and chairs to get everyone at the table. The bathroom on the main floor is only accessed through the main floor bedroom, making access at night problematic. The folks staying downstairs must go up two flights of stairs to reach the bathroom outside the upstairs bedroom when the main floor bedroom is occupied. The main floor bedroom is small and you must crawl into one side of the bed from the end as the bed is right next the wall. Decent and comfortable property but has some issues.

Awesome cabin close to yellowstone

Our family enjoyed this cabin close to yellowstone west entrance. The cabin had lots of beds for a large group. It was well stocked with everything we needed for our stay and the hot tub was well deserved after a day of hiking. Instructions were clear and communication was great.

Great Location to West Yellowstone!

This house was perfect for our family of 6. Everything was just as described. Location to Yellowstone was an easy drive! House was comfortable and clean. As some have described the layout is a little strange but worked for what we needed. Will definitely check this place out again when returning to Yellowstone.

Very clean and comfortable

My family, including my two daughters, their husbands, an 11 year old, an 8 year old and my husband and I enjoyed our time here. The beds were comfortable and everything was very clean. We enjoyed watching the ground squirrels and a coyote from the porch. The kitchen seemed well equipped. The neighbors, though close, were quiet.. Some of the things I wish I had known: 1. The cabin is a little tight for a large group. 2. The only sitting area on the main floor is at the kitchen table and the bar. The main sitting area is on the 2nd floor. 2. There are only two bathrooms (I did know this but didn’t understand the configuration). None for the bedroom downstairs. Therefore, those staying downstairs have to share the bathroom on the main floor by walking through the main floor bedroom. 3.The cabin was a little farther away from Yellowstone than I had understood; however, it wasn’t a problem for us. We enjoyed getting away from the crowds. Two concerns: 1. I received a text asking if we needed anything. I responded that we needed more towels. There was no response. 2. As I told the manager/owner, my most important concern was the very unstable stairs leading into the cabin. We feel they are a hazard.

Yellowstone quick visit

The house is very comfortable with seating off the kitchen and a porch off of that. We didn't stay long enough to take advantage of the upstairs den and second deck. Bedrooms and baths had everything we needed, Beautiful location and we had no problem finding the house. Very positive experience.

Clean and comfortable

My family of six adults and two children enjoyed our stay at this property. It was far enough away from Yellowstone that we didn't have to deal with the traffic but close enough for an early morning or late evening wildlife trip. (Although we were never able to make the trip in the reported 10 minutes). We also enjoyed watching the ground squirrels and a coyote from the porch. The house was very clean, well stocked and the beds were all comfy. I only had two issues. One was on me-I booked a property for eight people with only two bathrooms. The other is definitely a property problem. The steps into the house are not secure and are a safety hazard. I informed the manager and received a text stating they would work with the owner to address this issue. If this issue is addressed I would gladly vacation here again and highly recommend this property.

The property was great. Only a few minor problems. Refrigerator leaked but repairmen fixed it really quick. Dishwasher and garbage disposal stopped working after they fixed it. Perhaps it was a problem with the circuit breaker. bathroom toilet leaked slightly. But other than that it was great.

Cabin close to Yellowstone Park west entrance

The cabin location was perfect for our visit to Yellowstone National Park and the town of West Yellowstone. However, we were put off by the dirty sink, the dirty dishes left in the dishwasher and stains on the pillow cases.

Enjoyed Grizzly Getaway, great view of the mountains

My family and I enjoyed our stay at Grizzly Getaway. The property manager communicated with us alot and made sure all was well upon arrival and departure. The cabin was spacious, clean, well equipped, beds were comfy, we had a great view of the mountains. The welcome book had lots of good and useful information. The cabin was easy to find from the highway, situated right off the highway. It was a well located for our trips to visit western Yellowstone NP. I recommend this property.

Our family lives in Island Park year round and we love it. The area offers so many activities and sights. We spend as much time as we can hiking, biking, and canoeing to amazing fishing locations and sights few people will ever see. In Yellowstone National Park, I was fishing in the Maddison River (standing right in the middle) when 35- 40 Buffalo appeared on the edge of the river and started crossing down stream from me. Admittedly, I was a bit nervous, but my family was on shore letting me know the direction the Buffalo were going so I could move to a safe location. In Yellowstone we have seen Grizzly, Majestic Bull Elk, Wolf, Fox, Moose, and caught a huge Cutthroat Trout (photo included) on Yellowstone Lake near Grant's village. We also snowmobile and motorcycle, which allows us to see even more of the wonderful area. It is surprising the amount of wildlife in the area during all seasons of the year. Last year my son and I were snowmobiling across mountain peaks overlooking Henry's lake when a moose and her calf crossed the same peak. We stopped our machines to watch and give these animals some space. We were amazed at the ease these magnificent animals moved through four feet deep snow. We had this same experience with a herd of Elk. Last week I came across a weasel in its beautiful white winter coat, with just a little black tipped tail, which helped me keep track of it. The weasel seemed to be asking me to pause from the days activities and just watch it play in the snow, which I did. Two years ago while fishing in a canoe at dusk, my family, watched as some swans landed close to us. The orange and red setting sun made there wings and the water glow as they circled and landed, it was the kind of sight that stirs the emotions and reminds us there is a Supreme Creator that has a love for beauty. Let us help you capture the beauty of this amazing place while you vacation here.
