We are in love with Camp Maine. The 1909’s cabin is full of charm. The lake is beautiful and the loons at night are soothing.
Kim the manager is friendly, knowledgeable and always available (although we did not need anything) Can’t wait to visit again!
Gorgeous setting for a relaxing trip to Maine. We hiked most days in Acadia, National Park, and particularly appreciated being close to Winter Harbor and the Schoodic Peninsula.
This Maine camp is old and very beautiful. It is also modernized and very comfortable with all the amenities you could want. Because of its age, it was allowed to be built at the edge of the lake. We spent every morning on the patio watching the loons, cormorants, and ducks while drinking coffee. The grandchildren spent most of their time in the water or on it in one of the watercraft supplied. I can't imagine a better place to spend time - including my milestone birthday! We've already reserved our next stay.
Great Views...Host was very accommodating and helpful...loved the stone fireplace...Very cozy....Best part after hiking in Acadia National Park was coming home here.....Highly Recommend!
This property is lovely. It's a beautiful old log cabin, beautifully maintained. It's right on the lakeside, so we sat and watched the lake, the loons, the ducks, the occasional kayakers. The cabin is so well supplied - better than many rentals we have had. Communication with Kim was perfect. We had a small problem and she was totally responsive. We plan to come again - we LOVE this property.
Very rustic cabin. The surrounding view and setting was so beautiful. We enjoyed the Loons and the beautiful pond. A family of ducks visited us every day. The sunsets were beautiful. The cabin was clean we just felt like it was a bit to rustic for us. Kim was great to work with and timely in her responses and very helpful with places to eat and hike. Maine is just so beautiful.

Rustic cottage
Rustic cabin which is ok but didn’t expect that rustic. Pond and dock were great. Didn’t care for wild mushrooms growing on inside of ceiling or excessive moisture in cottage. Run out of propane for grill after 10 minutes of use with no backup tank.
Our stay at Camp Maine was exactly what my husband and I needed. The location is gorgeous, an isolated cabin on a private pond. Fishing was my husband's favorite activity, large fish to be caught :) Fortunately the internet worked perfectly, I was able to stream the convention every night. Our dogs had the best vacation ever. One even took a canoe ride with us. Thank you for making this amazing cabin available to my pet family.
This cabin was exactly as advertised: rustic, cozy, and charming. We had a very relaxing week and the cabin was in great shape, clean, and well stocked. The beds were comfortable and the comforters very warm for those chilly Maine nights. The area was very quiet and peaceful. A definite plus. Keep an eye out for the pair of bald eagles (one landed beside the dock) as well as the loons. A large family of geese and goslings hung out in the yard several mornings. We even heard a whipoor will calling one evening.
The bedrooms and bathrooms are a bit on the dark side, so additional lighting would have been helpful. The washing machine is a little temperamental on whether it was going to decide to operate or not. Detailed instructions would be useful, but we eventually figured it out.

Disappointed
I expected a rustic cabin, what I did not expect was that it was not well maintained. Very disappointed.
There were several issues with the property: as this is “in the woods”, many bugs, etc abound and several screens on the windows were not intact and therefore not usable, nor was the screen door to the deck. Therefore, we could not leave the door open which impacted the ventilation through the cabin; the kitchen floor was missing some of the vinyl floor covering in many spots; the bathroom shower surround curtains arrangement was very awkward and full of mold in both bath tubs. The cabin manager did come to cover over it, but it was just a bandaid, not a suitable fix for the mold problem.
It was a lovely setting and enjoyed the views of the lake from the deck.
We had a great, relaxing, peaceful time! My husband got to fish, Acadia is close by, Ellsworth is worth a visit! Went to the Blue Hill fair, got seafood from Dorr’s, and went to some great antique shops plus beer tasting g at Atlantic brewery. At the end of the day it was nice to come back to this remote cabin on la lovely pond to chill on the Deck, have a bonfire or make a fire in the cabin. Kitchen is fully stocked and the beds were comfy. The hummingbirds and call if the loons was nice too!
Our Family and our Golden had a fantastic week here.
We were lucky enough to meet the owners when we checked in. They were warm and welcoming ( just like the cabin) and gave us a quick tour and history!
The cabin has a unique ,wonderful, rustic ,cozy charm. It was larger than we expected. 2 bathrooms were nice to have since were were a party of 6.
Camp Maine is well stocked. The kitchen has anything you could ever need to prep meals. For entertainment there are board games, puzzles and books . There are kayaks and a canoe! Life jackets and even watershoes are available. The fire pit was a highlight each night.
We appreciated the quiet of Camp Maine after busy days of exploring.
On a final note communicating with Kim was easy and prompt.
Thank you!!!!
We look forward to returning next year!!
This property exceeded our expectations. The lake was beautiful. The cabin is bigger than it looks in the picture. The description of the property was accurate. We visited Acadia NP on Mount Desert Island and on the Schoodic Peninsula which are 45 to 50 minutes away. The cabin was a very relaxing place to come back to after a day of hiking and biking. We plan on coming back one day.
My husband and I stayed in the cabin with his parents. Our sisters and their kids visited during the day from their place close by. The cabin is amazing, exactly as listed and has absolutely everything you could need! It’s an unbelievably beautiful and calm setting. Phone service is touch and go and you’ll need to bring bug spray but that is to be expected For a cabin in the woods in Maine. Kayaks and lifejackets are provided and the pond is perfect for that, or just cooling off in the water. The kitchen and bathrooms were fully stocked with more than we anticipated. It was great to have the washer and dryer on site, although we only used it once. There’s plenty of outdoor seating on the deck and at the fire pit which was wonderful. Everything is in great working condition throughout the entire place. We would definitely come again. Kim was very helpful and responsive, she’s very nice also, we met her as we were leaving. This is a perfect 10 out of 10 for a woodsy cabin vacation if you want peace, beauty and fun!
Rustic, spacious cabin close to serene pond. Observed up to 8 loons at once. Frequently saw a family of both eagles and osprey. With onshore breeze water temperatures we’re as high as 85 degrees. Proximity to Acadia National Park made it easy to visit.
Description is dead on. It’s remote. It’s wonderful. Beautiful location. Our granddaughter was the pied piper for a group of ducklings. Just to keep this from being a perfect score, the internet and phone service were sketchy. But that’s it. I would stay there again in a heartbeat.
We had such a great time exploring the area. The camp was located in a great area. We went to Acadia, Schoodic Peninsula, Bar Harbor, drove to Bangor to see Stephen Kings house, went to the Penobscot observation bridge and went on a nature cruise around Bar Harbor and Acadia. We enjoyed our morning coffee on the deck and listening to the loons. We even had a female Bald Eagle fly around and land just a few yards away! Even though the weather was warmer than usual we had a nice breeze across the pond and the fans to keep us cool. I made hummingbird food and filled the feeder with in minutes they were eating away. We never had the chance to use the kayaks or canoe.. already looking forward to our next visit❤️
Beautiful setting, steps away from the refreshing water. The area was very peaceful broken up only by the calming calls of the loons. We kayaked and paddle boarded throughout the week and loved it. So relaxing to be on a pond that was truly golden.
