Colorado Mountain Retreat - Spacious Cabin

The cabin is nestled in the beautiful national forests surrounding St. Mary’s Glacier in the St. Mary’s Colorado. The natural setting allows for all sorts of outdoor activities. In the winter you can enjoy backcountry skiing, snowshoeing, snowboarding. When the snow melts in May, opportunities for hiking, mountain biking, 4x4 off-roading, backpacking and camping abound. The base of St. Mary's Glacier hiking course is quarter mile away.
Also there are two private lakes in the neighborhood that can be fished. Two fishing badges provided to fish in two private and stocked lakes!
Walking distance to the glacier hike and fishing. If it gets a
little chilly, light a fire in the outdoor large fire pit, or head inside, light a fire in the cast iron wood stove.

Peaceful and spacious cabin with 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and great room with wood burning fireplace. On the top level is the master bedroom with a king size bed. Jack and Jill bathroom with second bedroom, which has full size bed. On the main level is the great room, kitchen, nook and 2nd full bathroom. Third bedroom located on main level with a full size bed. Wi-Fi internet, satellite TV, and variety of books provided. Enjoy stargazing in the evening through our large windows in the great room and balcony off the Master bedroom. There is a laundry room in the basement.

The nearby quaint town of Idaho Springs boasts unique shops and is rich in frontier and mining history. Try your luck at panning for gold after taking in a tour at one of the local mines. Run the rapids of Clear Creek with one of the several rafting companies right in Idaho Springs. Afterwards, soak in the hot springs and baths of Indian Springs. Or you can just spend the day shopping and visiting some of the several museums around town that are interesting for the entire family. There are several restaurants in Idaho Springs as well. BeauJo’s world famous pizza is an excellent choice or you can try one (or two) of the microbrews at Tommyknocker’s.

Please get your food supplies on your way up to the cabin as the closest store is about 10 miles away in the town of Idaho Springs.
Close to Loveland and Arapahoe Basin Ski Resorts.
The Georgetown loop railroad is only a 20 minute drive.
Close but not too close to Downtown Denver, which is 50 minutes away.

Beautiful and so peaceful!

This property is so tranquil. Wonderful hosts and the home is very well stocked with everything you may need. The sound of the wind thru the pines and the rushing stream brings such a lovely atmosphere. You will not be disappointed staying here!

Spring break from orlando

We came so our almost 13yr old daughter could see snow and visit fairplay. (Huge south park fans).. The house is great for the 3 of us. The dual coffee pot.. only the k cup worked. There's a leak in the wall but wasnt effected by it and the water was either ice cold or super hot.. but otherwise perfect.. great communication with host since we were/are snowed in for 3 extra days. They even came to blow the driveway.. great plus 🙂

The property was very nice. We were not able to use the hot tub as it was broken ,the oven didn’t work only the cooktop. The DVD skips continuously the bed in the master bedroom sages terribly one side and the coffee maker only works on the K cop side

Beautiful Property

Our Family was looking for a week away in a remote area to be together, beautiful scenery, hiking and options for things to do near by. This property provided us with everything we were looking for. We really loved the outdoor areas and this beautiful cabin!

Beautiful Home away from Home

The property was clean, fresh, and perfect for our extended weekend vacation. Gina was incredibly thoughtful during our stay and made the trip feel like home. The trails nearby were close (and challenging in the best way) and breathtaking! Would love to come back one day during the winter months :)

The heart of St.Mary

Everything we needed to experience the solitude of a mountain home. Located within walking distance of St.Mary's Glacier hike, which offers some of the most amazing views for intermediate hikers. The house seems to be getting a hot tub installed at the moment, and once it's finished, that will elevate this property's status. Thanks for sharing this amazing property!

Amazing house!!!

Me and two of my friends stayed at this property for three days to ski at winter park and even though it is a little bit of a drive, it was worth it! Right as we arrived, the house was clean, had games and a card, thanking us for staying there. We had a great experience here and 100% recommend this!

We had a great time staying in this beautiful house. We came in winter and it was just amazing. Gina was very helpful and answered all my questions. The house was super clean and very well set. Beautiful decoration and comfortable furniture. The bedrooms had a five stars hotel standard! We had everything we need for a comfortable and restful staying. I recommend it 100% !

Perfect mountain getaway!

We were wanting a family getaway while we visited our CU son from Texas. This exceeded our expectations! We were welcome to this comfortable and accommodating home with wine and chocolates and a sweet card. The weather could not have been more perfect. Though we were sad to leave the day before snow was expected (the day after Labor Day). The location was better than expected as it was walking distance and a great hike to St. Mary’s Glacier! Being among just a few residents, it felt remote without being isolated.. The first morning I woke early to watch the sunrise and was elated to see a mother and baby moose in the creek just across the road. First time to see a moose even though I have been to Alaska and Canadian Rockies! The only issues were electricity went out for much of the day one day but since we spent most of our time outdoors it had little impact on us. The kitchen was mostly well stocked but we could have used a few more serving bowls as we cooked our entire stay but this was a small issue and we made due. Our stay was overall a great experience for all of us and we all agreed we would definitely want to come back!

Gina’s property is so great! Just the road to get there sets the scene for an amazing mountain getaway! The property is squeaky clean, so cozy and she’s thought of every detail! We escaped our kids and the big city, and could not have been any more comfortable or welcomed. The property is secluded, but still close enough to some really good eats, trails and lakes! We would highly recommend this property and would love to visit again in the future!

Comfort before the wilderness!

I highly recommend this property. The property was clean and offered all the amenities of home. Everything was as promised on the website. We really enjoyed cooking meals together in the kitchen and playing board games after a long day enjoying the St Marcy Glacier trail (walking distance from house) and paddle boarding on one of the private lakes. Sometimes when you are “roughing it” in the mountains it is nice to take a warm shower and sleep in a comfortable bed. This property exceeded our expectations.

Awesome Time!!

Owner is extremely easy to deal with. We had a great time. Location is better than expected. You feel like you are in the middle of nowhere. There are neighbors close, but you would never know. I truly give this place a 5 star. We will definitely be back. St Marys Glacier is breathtaking and a must hike when you come.

JUST AWESOME

It doesn’t get much better than this. Pease and quiet in a time of turmoil. Beautiful property right across the ridge from the St. Marys Glacier trailhead. Moderate family hike to an incredible lake and glacier. No other houses in sight from the property, just the soothing sounds of the river across the street. I’ve rented dozens of places On VRBO, and this was the cleanest property I have ever stayed in. The owner responds quickly to any question and genuinely cares about each person’s stay. We’ll likely book this place again before the summer is over.

Father’s Day weekend

Gina was an exceptional host from the moment I messaged her. Very quick response. This property was wonderful. Upgraded and comfortable furniture, appliances, and decor. Hiking trails were within walking distance , we caught trout in lake close by and enjoyed watching the deer pass by in the back yard. All the amenities we needed were there. We will definitely stay here again. The wine and chocolate were such a pleasant surprise. Thank you for the wonderful time.

Beautiful Secluded Mountain Cabin

Our host went above and beyond to make us feel welcome to the property. We arrived at night and thought we would be in the dark and that the home would need to be warmed up. The cabin was well lit and was warm and inviting when we arrived. We mentioned that we were celebrating a birthday and there was a Happy Birthday banner along with a gifts and a card, very thoughtful! We had a party of 4 and it was plenty of space for all of us. There were plenty of staple items available, i.e. seasonings, that we had not considered to bring and it was readily available. The beds were comfortable. There were games to play. It felt like a home away from home. When we work up in the morning (since we arrived at night) we were blown away by the beautiful Mountain View’s from our bedroom balcony window. We found a local tubing area, Echo Mountain, and enjoyed our time there. The only minor issues that we had was ice on the stairs and a small leak near a window. Once notified of the leak, the host returned our call immediately and came to the home to shovel the ice on the stairs. These minor issues does not deter us from highly recommending this property. We hope to return in the near future. We only gave a 4 star rating on the location due to the distance from the highway. The location itself was beautiful and breath taking.

Beautiful cabin

Beautiful, clean, nicely decorated and fully equipped home. Great secluded area for peace and tranquil get away. Only thing I would suggest is homeowners advise if additional renters will be on property. There is a 2nd rental unit in the garage area that we were not advised of and were startled when we saw a car pull up late in the evening our 1st night. Another issue, we were not told of was the oven did not work before purchasing $300+ in groceries for our stay and when we tried to use the microwave the breaker would flip causing no power in kitchen, upstairs bath and downstairs bedroom. Owner was nice enough to drive out to fix the problem however, it took the entire day to have electrician come out to access bottom floor unit to flip the breakers. And after we had no power for a full day, it happened again on the morning of our last day. The owner explained there was a fire caused by the renters that left the day we checked in therefore, hopefully just a one time incident and hopefully they are able to have the problem fixed. Aside from these minor issues, very nice home with all the amenities for a wonderful vacation getaway.
