Live like a local in a quiet residential neighborhood just 10 min from the nightlife of Waikiki.

Apartment is located behind the main house and includes queen bed, full custom bathroom, TV, table & chairs.

Outdoor Kitchenette includes gas burners, full size fridge, toaster oven and microwave.

5 min walk to local restaurants, grocery store, Starbucks's, post office, bus stop & library. Costco 3 miles.

2 blocks from Ocean,
3 miles to best snorkeling at Hanauma Bay

The space

Private Apartment in a Redwood "Pole"house. Queen sized bed, full bathroom, Hawaiian style kitchenette located on the "lanai" (covered balcony) butane burners, full fridge, 8 ft counter and cabinets. Utility sink for cleaning dishes and access to washer/dryer. plenty of free street parking. Owners live onsite in the main house.

Guest access

You have access only to the private apartment and deck spaces in front of your apartment.. Not in front of owners living area, which is in a few pictures.-- Just to show neighborhood and proximity to ocean..

We will need to collect Hawaii GE tax 4.5% and of 9.25 = 13.25% at check In please.

Interaction with guests

I love to help others, I am a world traveler, and have lived in Honolulu for 26 years(coming from East coast) so I know what appeals to most visitors, and know the Hidden Hawaii, and how to get off the beaten path...i.e. great hikes(45 min to be on top of mountain and see other side of island)
great value in eats(healthy and pacific Asian specialties) can walk to Aina Haina Shopping Ctr- Sushi, custom pizza, restaurants, upscale grocery, large fitness club, post ofc, library.
2 miles to Kahala Mall, Costco, Hanauma Bay(pristine tropical bay -world reknowned for snorkeling..)

Start your trip in Honolulu in your private apartment, and I'll be glad to fill you visiting neighbor islands(I fly every week to the other islands) and know the sites, hiking and camping....

Other things to note

This is the way to get away from "living " with the other tourists, while only being a 10 min drive(4 miles) to the Waikiki Jungle... quiet, suburban living on the Gold Coast of Honolulu... if a quiet place to relax is your preferred base , then this is the place for you.

Not quite as advertised
I booked this VRBO for my boyfriend's parents, while my boyfriend and I stayed at a separate VRBO in the Aina Haina area. My boyfriend's mother reported the following: The room itself was ok, however, the lanai view was not as pictured. This room does not have a view of the water, but instead has a view of a rock wall and the back yard. They were not allowed to go to the part of the lanai that has the ocean view. The room is not very private, as it is a master bedroom inside of a house, and was noisy. Also, there is a long staircase leading to the room, which is not very well lit at night, making it difficult for them to climb the stairs. However, Rich, the owner, is a very kind and personable gentleman who wants his guests to be happy. His home is conveniently located and the Wi-Fi works well.

You can be like a local by living in a quiet neighborhood yet minutes away from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki. Perfect for a base for driving or bus stop at end of street. If you prefer not to be in tourist central yet close by, this could be your quiet sanctuary?

This is my house the master bedroom suite I rented an apartment usually to a permanent tenant yet sometimes have it available for vacation rentals occasionally I'll have the rest of the house available ,, as it's another listing,
Both house and apartment can be rented as one complete unit, now we have three bedrooms full kitchen and picturesque ocean views from the house
