2 weeks in Paradise...
Our family have stayed in these Villa's twice over the last four years. They are absolutely divine if you want an authentic French holiday. Don't for one second expect hotel-like accommodation with air conditioning, room service, valets, car parking and sterile rooms. DO expect long, lazy lunches outside under the grape-vine, swimming and reading by the pool, expert advice from the divine hostess Amanda on all the local activities and region's attractions. And if you like food, well how about catered dinners complete with music and dancing, divine Rose from local vineyards, and inpromtu lunches/dinners with other guests if you want. And visits to Uzes, the nearby village for their food markets on Wednesdays and general markets on Saturdays....oh...and did I mention the Flea market nearby???? Our family just love this place...we have returned once, and my daughter and I have just gone back for thirds....AND we are returning again next year !

Heaven on Earth !!!
There is something for everyone at Maison de Maitresse. I had to change my travel plans at the last minute from Sardinia to Maison de Maitresse ... but what a blessing that turned out to be !! I travelled on my own to St. Maximin but was collected by Amanda from the train station in Avignon, a soft top silver sports car in the South of France, I was in heaven immediately. I was treated like an old friend, I was given all the freedom I wanted or I was welcomed with family and close friends if I chose to join in, which I mostly did !! The best markets in the area are located in Uzes just 10 minutes by car or by bus which is located at the bottom of St. Maximim (9.28am to be precise), the markets are Wednesday and Saturdays. If you are very lucky Amanda will tell you where the local flea market is on a Sunday morning, the 9 french vintage crystal champagne glasses for 10 euro are now amongst my most treasured possessions. The entire property is devine, totally gorgeous, I hardly ate out at all, mostly enjoying food from the market or homemade cooking with Amanda and her friends. Luckily the best restaurant in the area is located in St. Maximin village so I would absolutely advise to book as soon as you arrive. One of the highlights, apart from meeting Amanda and her friends and family would be taking the canoe down the Gardon River to the Pont Du Gard. An absolute must with a picnic lunch, I was on my own that day and totally blissed out. Maison de Maitresse is a very magical place be prepared to return from your holiday a changed person – I have !! And I’m going back …. Very soon.

I am a kiwi girl living in the South of France and loving it!!! Especially the 300 days of sunshine, the cheap ( but good wine) the fabulous food and of course the gorgeous French men!!!!

Why they chose this property

It is in a charming village that dates back to the 11th century and is protected because the famous French write Racine was staying in the local Chateau. The old part of the village is restricted to stone houses with certain colours on the shutters so the whole effect is pleasing to the eye.Perched on a hill and looking out over the lovely country side.

What makes this property unique

Everything you want to see or visit in the Provence area from 4 mins to an hours drive from the house and nearby kayaking, golf, restaurants ,shops etc.
