Could be cleaner
We had the opportunity to rent your VRBO home this last week. We were very excited to stay there due to the location and very appealing photos of the property. It behooves us to point out some major concerns about our stay. The most critical was the cleanliness of the entire house.
1) There were cobwebs on the ceiling over our bed that would wave with the air from the furnace right over our heads, cobwebs on the chair legs and table stands in both the kitchenette area and dining room.
2) The floors had dust and cobwebs in most of the corners. We were asked to take off our shoes, but we had to use flip flops to dare walk on the floors, especially the bathroom.
3) The rugs and carpets need major cleaning, even just a good vacuum for some.
4)The bathroom and kitchen were really the worst. We had to wipe down, sinks, counters, and floors before we could use any of the space( with a hand held broom) under the sink as no cleaning materials were available)
5) We had to wash dishes before we could use them as they were dirty, especially the glasses. There was not one that we could drink from, still with lip stains from previous use and major stains.
6) There was food in the refrigerator that we left, that was not ours!!!
We were able to make this stay work for us, as we spent very little time there, did a lot of cleaning to make it work, but barely touched the surface. We felt you needed to be aware of this, so it can be more enjoyable for future users!! Thanks!!
Our family of 5 had a wonderful time in Bre’s beautiful, warm and inviting home....Sunny, airy and bright. Bre has everything you need in the kitchen to cook if you want to cook. We cooked breakfast every morning and sat at her mosaic tiled table in the sunroom looking at the incredible views outside. The beds and pillows were so comfortable and the house was very clean. Plenty of comfy seating in the family room with a large screen smart tv.
Although the house is old and in need of some renovations to the bathrooms, the house is beautifully decorated with great art everywhere and the location and unbelievable views from all the windows can’t be beat! We had such a wonderful stay and Bre was very quick to respond to anything we needed. We will definitely be back. Thank you for such an amazing family Christmas in your lovely home.

We had a HORRIBLE experience with this home owner . Let me start by stating that we have rented many homes over the years from VRBO and have never experienced anything like this .
Through email this property manager /owner agreed that it would be ok for me and the 4 girls that would be with me to arrive very late at night
We were driving after school sports from Northern California to L.A.
Upon the 1130 pm arrival ,she showed the house , and then gave a sob story about her sick cat and asked me if it would be ok for her to stay the night ...
She could sense my hesitation ( because she’s a stranger !, I’ve paid to rent the entire home for privacy and comfort !!!)
She offered me $50 a night compensation ...
She said her boyfriends home was 2 hours away and that she would be taking her sick cat to the neurologist first thing in am and we wouldn’t even know she was there .... and because I’m expecting that she will respond to this with some crazy defense I will say that the room that she wAnted to stay in was in the downstairs of the house and had it’s own entrance .... but never was I told that we would only have access to part of the house or that the owner would be staying basically in the house with us .
I was extremely uncomfortable in this situation because of the time of night it was , being responsible for 4 very tired kids and the fact that I was alone !!!( husband flying in next night to join us .)
The next am at 1030 we were on our way to the car ( assuming she was long gone by this point )
And here she comes meeting us in the front yard still in her pajamas .
She was commenting on how much better I looked this morning compared to last night and said she thought I could use a drink and asked if it would be ok to go into the house and put it in the fridge ....
Seriously ?!?!?!? Again we were in a hurry had a tour booked .... and I was just in shock .
So I have no idea how long she was inside the house with all of our luggage and belongings etc because she was gone by the time we got back from our long day and evening out .
She also asked if she could stay the other 2 nights in that same room and that she would credit me $50 /day .... I said NO to that( my husband would never have been ok with ANY of this ).
In hindsight I wish I would’ve just called VRBO right away but like I said it was so late , I was put on the spot and I made the best decision I could at the time . I was scared to rock the boat while she

Classic AND convenient Hollywood Hills home away from home
We couldn’t have asked for more during our long weekend stay in Hollywood. While our goal was to find a convenient location to accommodate our two families near Universal Studios, we found so much more! We were walking distance to the Metro (along the Walk of Fame!) and only one short stop to Universal. No long wait to get in/out of the parking lot and a money-saver, too! We were tucked back in a quiet neighborhood, but only blocks from all of the excitement of Hollywood Blvd. We loved having coffee each morning in the bright and sunny breakfast room, and the patio was a wonderful spot to unwind in the evening from a fabulous day at the park and sightseeing. Bre was a wonderful host. She was quick to respond to questions prior to booking and throughout our stay. We couldn’t have asked for a better location or accommodations. The home was outfitted with everything needed to make it our home away from home!
The host was like a concierge to LA, letting us know her recommendations for restaurants and events around North Hollywood and beyond... more than anything we've ever experienced. Also, this was a classically beautiful, early 20th century home, with the domestic architectural features - intimate and romantic - that reminded me of the mid-century aesthetic of the movie "LA Confidential". The downside is that the plumbing and electrical infrastructure is on its last legs (toilet paper cannot be flushed and electrical appliance use must be coordinated). Therefore, I do not recommend housing more than 7 people, especially for people who will not be out and about for their stay. Also, take note that this listing may appear with "Washer and Dryer" search criteria, but laundry service is only available if the stay is 8+ days (drop-off laundry services are nearby).
