Quick Getaway

We were looking for a convenient and different place to stay recently while visiting my daughter's. This place was perfect and central to everything we wanted to do and see.

Filthy

I don't know if it depends on which cabin you stay in but ours was filthy. Every flat surface was sticky and when wiped, came up actually brown. The floor was so dirty, bare feet were black just walking around during the day. I wouldn't say we left the place spotless but it's at least cleaner then when we got there so hopefully the next guest has a better experience. I will note that we were late checking out because we got stranded in Denver and while the management was firm, if a little aggressive, I get that they have other guests checking in. Just wish they had been a bit more understanding of our circumstance.

Passing through

Your policy regarding alchohol possession places you in too precarious of a position to actually enforce. You should probably allow travelers to consume their own beverages and simply test by breathalyzer if they express a desire to use your Adventure activities. We really look forward to future bookings. Hope you can relax these anxiety producing policies for

Gulch Spring tiny house

This was a spur of the moment late summer trip for two and we wanted something cozy, wooded and surrounded by mountains...this was an awesome find! Really appreciated that there were only a few cabins so there was lots of privacy, easy social distancing and it was quiet except for the I-70 traffic noise that was always present but we quickly learned to ignore. The cabin tiny home was perfectly adequate and homey; nice size fridge, stove/oven, microwave, some pots/pans/utensils, good size bedroom and living area (no closets but plenty of hooks and drawer space to put your stuff) and good water pressure in the shower. Picky points: the full size bed and fold out slightly larger than a twin futon were not the most comfortable....I would bring something for extra cushioning unless you like a hard bed and don’t mind the futon bar poking you. The shower is tiny and the shower head is not removable so if you are short like me, your hair is gonna get wet every time you shower....also there is no shelf /cubby/soup dish in the shower so all of your shower supplies are on the floor. The cabin could have been a little cleaner (dust bunnies, the grill tools were dirty, the freezer needed to be wiped out). . None of the picky stuff was a show stopper for us, just things to be aware of. Will say the staff was awesome and very prompt whenever we contacted them (we needed new sheets and check in/out was contactless and super easy). The location is good with a little bit of a drive to most places but nothing crazy. No AC but is was never overly hot in the cabin and there are plenty of windows. The grounds are lightly wooded and there are some short walking paths and a river across the road next to I-70 that is accessible but no path to walk beside. It was a great touchstone place to call home after days of exploring what Colorado has to offer.

ok for a one night stay

Grill was disgusting, cobwebs in every room, dust in bathroom vent, weird smell, dishes weren't clean. It was a good place near the river, and the bed was comfy.

Nice place!

We had a great time. The place was nice and clean and the location was convenient to get to lots of different hikes and outdoor activities. It had plenty of cooking equipment, but zero spices or condiments. Certainly not an expectation, but you'll find that at many properties, so I figure it's worth mentioning. Two small issues - nowhere in the listing, confirmation email, or any communication before we arrived was it mentioned that no alcohol is allowed at the property. Not a huge deal as you can go buy beers at the nearby bar, but for folks going on vacation, seems like it would be worth mentioning ahead of time, and not upon arrival. Second, they make it very clear that you are expected to thoroughly clean any dishes you use or you'll be charged, however they don't supply a sponge or brush or anything to actually clean with besides paper towels. Those are minor things though, and we had a great time!

Great family vacation cabin

Our family really enjoyed our stay in the Miners cabin. It was a great space for our family of 4 and 2 dogs. This cabin had a great fulll kitchen and was clean and so comfortable. It only took 5 minutes to go into Idaho Springs and 25 minutes to get into Winter Park for a great day of boarding.

Super cute and clean glamping quarters!

The property was very clean and accommodated four adults for two nights. The only negative was the metal bar in the hide a bed but what do you expect? No AC but if you don't plan to be there in the daytime it is not a problem.

Cute but noisy & dirty

The cabin was very cute but the location was so close to I-70 all you heard was traffic. It was so noisy that we couldn’t sleep. It sure wasn’t the quite getaway from the city we were hoping for. Staff seemed annoyed when asking for assistance with getting grill to work. So much so another guest offered assistance. If you have allergies beware. Cabins were very dirty & dusty. When packing up discovered that they probably never clean under their beds. Sure explained why my son could not breathe well in the cabin but was fine everywhere else.

Amazing staff, Amazing property, and Amazing views!!

I surprised my husband with a mountain getaway for our 7 year anniversary. It could not have been any more perfect! I can’t speak highly enough about the staff and their accommodating nature. We were able to check in early and our cabin was PERFECT!! It was clean, intimate, and the views were breathtaking. We hiked around the mountain, spent time next to the Clear Creek river, and ventured into Idaho Springs for a day of site seeing, massages, and a nice soak at the Indian Hot Springs. It was very quiet at night which made the experience even more lovely!! We will definitely be back to experience all the adventures they have to offer! It was a vacation we will never forget and can’t wait to return to! Thank you Lawson Adventure Park for being everything and more than we could have hoped for!!
