This super comfy house is in the Hillcrest area with charming bungalows in historic neighbourhoods. Just two blocks off University Ave which unlimited food and entertainment options. Can get anywhere easily too or walk everywhere.
This was a nice place for me and two friends to stay for a few days in San Diego. Neighborhood was quiet and safe, and the outdoor patio area was great. The host was very responsive. The ceilings were quite thin and creaky so we did get woken up by the neighbors upstairs a couple times—not an issue just a slight inconvenience. We enjoyed our time here!
Property was a little musty smelling when we first got there, but it might’ve been closed up for a while. Once we aired it out it was good. People upstairs were a little noisy but overall a great stay.
We loved being able to walk to restaurants, shops, and coffee shops. We loved the location.
This house is conveniently located to everything. You can walk to major tourist attractions and nice local restaurants. Comfortable beds. Very clean. The hosts are very helpful. Perfect place for us to stay on our 1 wk vacation.
DO NOT BOOK THIS HOUSE
This is the creepiest, most unsatisfying listing on VRBO. The apartment is hot, small, and in need of renovation. If you were looking for something nice, then continue to keep on looking. But the worst part is the patio cameras. Cameras are great for security, but these cameras are used to creep on guests. We felt so uncomfortable in the space as the host would text us in real time about things he saw on camera. Our group felt demoralizingly uncomfortable. The eye is always watching.
For the perfect example of this hosts behavior just look at his responses to some of his reviews. He has been rude, called someone fat, and is all around just an unpleasant person to work with.
If you book this house, may God have mercy on your soul.
Pros: This place is very clean and for the most part comfortable. The owners are very good at communicating and responding to questions quickly.
Cons: The property is located on a very busy corner due to being very close to the 163 hwy so the traffic is loud. There is very little privacy in the front of the house due to all the windows , which are beautiful but the shades don’t do much especially at night. The people upstairs are loud and quite active late at night, on one particular evening it sounded like they were dragging furniture across the floor right above the room we were sleeping in at midnight . In regards to amenities, in all of the other home shares we’ve stayed there has been at least coffee, cream and sugar. I appreciate there being coffee but would’ve been nice to have cream and sugar to go along with it. Overall if you don’t mind the noise I would recommend this very cute and stylish place.

weekend away
I am not one to give a bad review but this stay was not at all what I am use to. The communication with the owners was terrible. Our fist night there when my sister went to bed she found sand all in her bed so we suspected they were not cleaned. The only way to get in touch with the owner was a message through the app and they only answered you during business hours. I sent them a message to call us asap, after waiting 3 hours for a response we sent another message and they responded to that. I did not know this was a 2 story house with people staying upstairs. They were so noisy they were up at 5:00 am making a racket and then did not go to bed until late. We were unable to get a good nights sleep. When I sent the owners a message about this problem all they said was have a nice day. If they handled our concerns better this would be a much different review.
Located at busy 4-way stop intersection, street parking is minimal and patio is in noisy front yard. Booked for 4 Seniors (60+), 2 from Canada, 2 from Arizona. Arrived at house early and enquired about early check-in, Host said once housekeeping was done she would give us code. We left in our car to run errands and while gone the host message us to move our car from the driverway?? Arizona couple were parked on public street in truck/camper. Came back, parked on street, waited in camper with friends. Woman drove up and shouted "you can't park there". When we asked who she was she said she was "just trying to be nice", but her demeanor was anything but. Come to find out she is our host, she marched around checking gates and mailboxes and lock boxes as if we had done something to the property. Then she left. Camera's everywhere, host seems paranoid and watching all the time and causes unnecessary drama. 1 hour before check in she cancelled our booking! Thanks a lot. Reason - unfixable damage from previous tenant. Lies! Oh, and between 11 and 3, never saw housekeeping come or go. More lies. Luckily we found a much nicer place, quieter neighborhood and professional host. In the end we enjoyed San Diego with our friends but I would not recommend this Host.
This was our first visit to San Diego and we had a great time!
The house was cute and clean and literally 5 minutes walk to great food and shops. I loved the location!
Some things to note, there isn't a washer and dryer so pack accordingly. Also, the furniture in the pics show a couple of chairs and sofa in the living room but there is only one chair and sofa.
Lastly, there are also tenants upstairs above and it can be a bit loud due to the proximity but not for long periods. Not a deal breaker by any means.
Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would gladly choose this house again.
Easy check in. Williams communication was impeccable. Walking distance to restaurants and Whole Foods. Beds were comfortable and water was hot. Loves the outdoor seating made for a great night cap in the cool Southern Cali air.
This will be my home when visiting SD from now on. Thanks again William. Well done
Our stay was wonderful. This property is located in a great area of San Diego - close to nearby tourist attractions. Very seamless check in process, and the host even messaged me to see how things were going which was nice. The house was clean and has everything you need. Will definitely check to see if this property is available next time I visit San Diego!
Hosts were very communicative and helpful. The location of the stay was central and easy access to freeways. We loved the outdoor space and the house itself. Would definitely stay here again!
Fabulous location close to the activities we wanted to do!
This house is a terrific location near several things we wanted to do - walking distance to the zoo, Balboa Park, getting food at Whole Foods, a couple good restaurants, and easy driving distance to a concert at the Pechango Arena and to SeaWorld.
The decor is retro and reminds us of the houses we grew up in during the 50s many years ago! It was really clean and had all the kitchen utensils and cookware we needed.
We are so grateful for the wonderful hospitality of the hosts!
The house was in the perfect location to explore San Diego. Great neighborhood with lots to do in all directions. The house was clean and had the amenities for a long weekend. Would recommend this house to anyone.
