About this property

Be in the center of all Mt. Hood has to offer. Our chalet is in the heart of Government Camp. You can walk one-two blocks into town to go to resturaunts, grab the shuttle to Timberline, activities at Multipor/Ski Bowl, sleigh rides during the holidays, even a grocery store for the items you forgot.

Government Camp is only 45 minutes from Portland and PDX by car.

Our chalet is off a plowed street in winter and includes off street parking for 2-3 cars. Although it looks like a two story in the winter, it is actually three stories and includes a cozy living room with fireplace, half bath, kitchen and dining rooms on the second floor, upstairs is the master bedroom with queen and additional bedroom with a full and two twins. There is a shared full bathroom up there. In the basement or first floor is a family room with a woodstove, a futon, if needed, and a bedroom with a queen and a full bath. It works great for two families.

Our admin fee is the 6% lodging tax for Clackamas County. Not extra income for us. The State of Oregon lodging tax is collected in VRB0 quote.

Our stay

Overall the house was cute and just what we needed. The basement smelled strong of must so some couldn’t sleep down there. The house was clean and warm. We left a few items and trying to connect to retrieve them hasn’t worked at all.

Location was good and the heat worked. It’s pretty run down and basement smelled funny no one wanted to sleep down there.

Just Like Home

Perfectly cozy, close quarters for a at home feeling. Lots of fun and laughs at the kitchen table here. Walkable distance to everything in Government camp made everything that much easier.

This is a nice property very close to main drag. Accommodates two families with ease. Only downside is you have to take garbage with you.

Great location, terrible beds and you have to PACK out your garbage!

The layout is great for multiple families. NOTHING has been updated since it was built. Light fixtures without bulbs, limited bath towels, lots of silverware, few bowls and plates...pans from 1980... one cookie sheet that was over 40 years old and was warped... and you have to PACK OUT your garbage! There is no garbage service on site nor in town to dump your garbage. So, pack light!

Perfect cabin for a weekend getaway

Perfect house right off the main strip in government camp. Our friends had a cabin 2 houses down and we all had a grand time skiing and snowboarding. The house was larger than I thought it would be and there were plenty of extra beds. All the queen beds had plenty of privacy perfect for a couple for each queen or king. The extra twin beds were perfect for that random friend that just wanted to stop in to snowboard with us at Skibowl. The snow wasn’t great but we had a great this weekend but we had a great time at the cabin. Thank you

Great time at snowflake

We had 7 people 4 adults 3 teens, and the sleeping quarters were perfect. Made good use of the fireplace, and stove. And their being sleds, was a nice touch for the kids.

We enjoyed our stay. The location is awesome!

The location is the best part of this house. It did get very warm however and the house was very hot which made sleeping hard. We were also very surprised to learn we had to take our garbage with us. This posed a challenge we did not anticipate. We also never found a key inside but were able to just use one in lock box by the door. The lay out of the house was great and worked well. All and all it was a good stay.

Great location but a bit run down

The home is in such a wonderful location so close to all the fun things Mt Hood has to offer… however, everything about the home and its furnishings felt like they were falling apart. The upstairs shower leaks through the floor, the front door’s doorknob fell off, the dryer sounded like we were trying to dry boulders instead of towels. The lack of trash service at the house made it difficult to manage our garbage - so we had to take a trip to nearby dumpsters each night which was very inconvenient. And the house doesn’t have a broom so the floors got progressively dirtier throughout our stay and the vacuum in the closet didn’t seem to do the trick. We definitely had a blast staying in government camp, but unfortunately the cabin didn’t add to that experience.

Snowflake cabin is functional in a great location

The cabin was very clean, especially the kitchen and bathrooms. Location is excellent, including the wonderful creek that runs through the back of the property.
