About this property

Very private, 6900 square foot 1920s mansion set on a 15 acre estate overlooking Lake Erie. Home is situated on a bluff with views of Canada and Buffalo. Rear of the home includes herringbone brick terrace, large sandstone patio. On the west side, adjacent to the kitchen is a small covered porch. On the east side is a large covered porch. Front of the home faces a 1.5 acre vineyard through which one enters the property.
The first level includes a large professional kitchen with fireplace, formal dining room, large formal living room, center hall, half bath and a sunroom facing the lake for viewing sunsets.
The second level includes 4 full bathrooms, 6 bedrooms, a laundry room and an outdoor covered porch facing the lake.
The third floor includes 1 bedroom and an oversized recreation room with pool table, ping pong, foosball table and air hockey.
The property is on a bluff with great views, but no water access. Wendt Beach is just a few minutes away by bicycle or car.
We are unable to allow parties or weddings on the property.

Lakefront Estate

This estate was just as described, secluded on 15 acres overlooking Lake Erie, a beautifully restored 1920’s manor house with high ceiling, wide halls and beautiful details. Our family of 8 enjoyed ourselves reading and playing games in the living room, cooking in the well-equipped spacious kitchen and sitting out on the front terrace. The nearby Bennett Beach was a lovely place to swim - so well kept by Erie County! The kids especially enjoyed the fossil digging and collecting at Penn Dixie only 20 minutes away.

Schmitt family reunion

It could not have been more excellent and accommodating 👍❤️. We all had a fantastic time. The kitchen was fully stocked including a delicious welcome basket. We will definitely recommend to friends. The location was ideal for us. The kids loved the game room and the wildlife.

Phenomenal rental

Great Location - wonderful for an extended family!

We had extended family from various states to meet at this location. Lots of room, great kitchen to allow for lots of home cooked meals and a grand Thanksgiving feast. Beautiful property with plenty of yard space. It was a little cool for outdoors, but it would be a great summer location with outdoor cooking and plenty of patio area. The owner was very attentive and had extra firewood brought by when we had daily fires in the fireplace. We will keep this place in mind for a revisit if in the area again.

More than a mansion

This estate is just incredible, the property is beautiful, and the interior is a perfect combination of original 1920’s and modern updates. It was the perfect get away during our wedding weekend and so many memories were made with our family and friends here. Our wedding was in nearby Hamburg and this estate was the perfect space for us to stay. The lake views and the gentle breeze made for such a calm and beautiful weekend. The owners are so sweet and were very accommodating. We have talked about coming back in the future for anniversary trips with our friends and family because we loved it so much.

Amazing Lake Erie shoreline property to host a large family gathering. No details were missed.

Ample storage in every room to include built ins, dressers and drawer space in bathrooms so we were able to fully unpack and immediately feel settled. Game room with ping pong table, billiards, air hockey, quick shot basketball game and foosball table was a huge hit with the kids and helped on a rainy day. Very organized with extra towels and sheets to use while you do loads of laundry and each shelf is labeled as to what sheets go to what room and sized bed. Extra large master closet with windows, ventilation and a door served as a bedroom for our two small children so they felt closer to us in a new environment, but still afforded us all privacy. House had nightlights provided throughout to help anyone that needed to navigate to a shared bathroom in the middle of the night. Amazing kitchen with a huge refrigerator and freezer, two separate sinks, top of the line appliances and storage galore. Excellent formal dining room with easy access off of the kitchen, but secluded enough to make it feel intimate if wanted. One of the shared bathrooms was easily accessible by an elderly family member with only a small step up into the very large shower. Great BBQ setup with a gas grill, plenty of counter space, an outside fridge and plenty of utensils. The large family room was the focal point of the house where everyone gathered to chat, play games and watch television. This house is the perfect combination of old world charm with modern creature comforts and amenities. Our family had a wonderful week in the house and had our extended family visit us off and on all week. We were able to let the kids run around the large yard and still have someone within sight at all times. We will be back again next summer and will be able to pack much lighter thanks to all of the thought put in and details covered by the owners. If you need a large space to host your family or friends that affords you places to gather when desired, but also privacy when needed this is the perfect house.

This beautiful house is worth every penny!

The house is stupendous. The bedrooms are large and grandiose. The beach near by and the access with the house impressed our family and my grand kids. The owners gave us the privacy we needed for this soloum event. We are so grateful to have made memories at this house. The 2 bald eagles we saw every day were good omens to us. Thank you. Elegance and fun on the lake.

My extended family and I spent a wonderful week at the Estate. Our family reunion could not have been better. It was one of the hottest weeks I can remember in Western, NY, thank fully the Estate remained cool. The grounds encourage out door activities such as bocce, playing catch or just enjoying views of the lake. We spent the majority of our time outdoors enjoying the natural beauty of the lake, however to our surprise, we also enjoyed bird watching. Bald Eagles we frequently seen in the air or perched in trees on the property. The Estate was well equipped and supplied, no need to run to the store for supplies. The owners and care taker were very responsive with answers to our many questions and could not have been nicer. I highly recommend this property and are planning our next trip to the Estate. Dan
