About this property

Stunning Property * Yellowstone Park * ChicoHotSprings * Hot Tub * Amazing Views

Gorgeous modern home with rustic & contemporary finishes inside and out.

Make our splendid Montana home near Yellowstone Park your vacation destination of choice this summer! “Alpine Lodge” is a welcoming home with more than a touch of luxury, ideal for family vacations, gatherings and reunions. The Yellowstone area is an amazing place to spend quality time, and this home is a rejuvenating retreat for body, mind and soul.

The property is located 35-40 minutes from the north entrance to Yellowstone National Park at Gardiner, Montana, the perfect place to enjoy all that the Yellowstone / Paradise Valley area have to offer - including fishing, boating, floating, horseback riding, hiking, photography, wildlife viewing, and more. Chico Hot Springs Resort (20-min) has a natural hot springs swimming pool, hot pool, horseback trail rides, river floats, sporting clays, day spa and dining. Further south are the fabulous Yellowstone Hot Springs in Corwin Springs (35 mins). This home is accessed by a paved road for the first couple miles, then a gravel road for the last 3 miles. It takes approx 12-15 minutes to get from the highway to the house. This gives great privacy and tremendous views - almost all of our guests feel it is worth the little extra drive because this place is so special!

With stunning views of Emigrant Peak through the large expanse of windows in the main living areas and the home’s large patio facing the mountains, this is a perfect spot for relaxing with a barbecue cook-out while you enjoy the mountains, the valley and the big skies after a long day at the Park!

The interior is a blend of modern luxury/rustic charm with a very modern kitchen - stainless appliances and granite countertops. Kitchen has everything you need for delicious home cooking, farmhouse sink, large pantry, and a conversation-friendly breakfast bar. The dining area comfortably seats 8 guests and is located just off the kitchen.

LIVING AREAS: The living and dining areas are spacious and comfortable, with a cozy wood-burning fireplace for gathering around and sharing stories. There's also a smart TV with basic channels, Netflix, Hulu, and a small DVD library with a selection of movies for young and old.

SLEEPING ACCOMMODATIONS: This property has three bedrooms, including two master suites with en suite bathrooms.
(1) The spacious Master suite has a king bed and walk-in closet, with clear views to Emigrant Peak. Bathroom has a tiled shower, freestanding soaker tub by window with views to Emigrant, and his-and-hers vessel sinks.
(2) The second suite has a queen bed and private bathroom with a tub/shower unit, enormous windows and views to Emigrant Peak. Door to outside, steps from hot tub.
(3) Accommodations in the third bedroom (sleeps 3 children) include a bunk - full bed below, twin on top. Third bathroom has a tiled shower with separate sink/water closet area. This bathroom provides facilities for third bedroom sleeping accommodations.
(4) Sleeping arrangements provide for 7 guests altogether.

ACTIVITIES: Some activities available in the Valley include river floats, whitewater rafting, horseback riding, zip-lining, scenic flights, guided trips and tours into the Park, art galleries, rodeos in June and July, Fiddler’s Picnic in August, and concerts at the nearby “Music Ranch Montana” throughout the summer. Plus lots more…

SHOPPING: In the nearby small town of Emigrant you’ll find a well-stocked grocery store, bank, post office, gas station, gift store, fly fishing store, cafe, bar, bakery, and restaurant. A little further north are the towns of Livingston and Bozeman with more options for shopping and dining. Closer to the Yellowstone Park is the small town of Gardiner, which also has grocery shopping and Montana gift stores.

We look forward to welcoming you to Paradise Valley and our beautiful Montana home, a place to make your vacation something special you will remember for many years to come.

Relaxing getaway near Yellowstone
The house is awesome! They have decorated it beautifully. We really enjoyed the open floor plan to hang out. The downstairs bedrooms are great for kids to have some downtime in their own space. My husband and I really enjoyed the beautiful loft bedroom and sitting area looking out onto the mountains. It was so peaceful and we’d open the window at night to let in the fresh mountain air. All of the beds, pillows and bedding were extremely comfortable. The lovely living room had seating for everyone, we were all able to sit and recline 😃 The kitchen is wonderful with dinning table looking out onto the mountains. The hot tub was fun with the colorful lights and sitting at the fire pit looking at the stars was incredible. The sunset every night was gorgeous! We went to Yellowstone 5 days and had a fantastic time, the drive to the North gate is beautiful. We really enjoyed eating at the Old Saloon, it’s truly stepping back into the Old West. Food and service was great. General Store across street is stocked with pretty much anything you want, prices are good and great kind service, gas and car wash. Emigrant Outpost was also good. Follow Yer Nose BBQ was also yummy and super casual, outdoor seating. We liked Iron Horse on the River in Gardiner. Perk has great coffee and ice cream in Gardiner. Absolutely great trip, loved coming back to the house to chill after a long day at the park. Mary is fantastic and supplies anything that you might need. Loved the trip!!!

The start of a new journey!
If I could, would have given it 100 stars! This property is absolutely amazing. With... as was described several times on our trip... million dollar views. Everything we needed or wanted was at this location. Loved having a fire going in the fire pit in the morning to have coffee dates to having fires in evening as the sun set to having fires later at night with a million stars in the sky... all the wood we needed was already there... the hot tub was just an added bonus. The house was as comfortable as advertised... down to even an iron and ironing board for our formal attire for our elopement. The house is surrounded by nothing but beauty and is conveniently located only four miles from Emigrant... 30 min give or take either way from Gardiner and Livingston, as well as the North Entrance to Yellowstone. Mary even sent us a informative list of local hotspots to eat at, activities in the area (hiking, etc.)... and even provided bear spray knowing we would be doing a lot of hiking and exploring while we were there. Thank you so much Mary for making our special week with myself and my new bride such an increedible memorable experience.

Amazing views, clean, and cozy!
We chose this home based on the views, and we were not disappointed. Sitting high on top of a mountain, this home offers privacy and spectacular mountain views. The home was so clean and spacious. The linens and mattresses were soft and cozy. Past guests had left behind plenty of items that were of use to us (cooler, Bear spray, ice packs, bug spray, ect). We got a lot of use out of the hot tub, which also has amazing mountain views. Firewood was provided for outdoor and indoor fires. A window unit a/c in the living area provided enough to cool the home even in mid-July. We enjoyed both Keurig and drip coffee along with blended frozen drinks. The north Yellowstone entrance is only about 40 min south, and is an easy and scenic drive. The best part of the trip was having an awesome host, Mary, who was quick to respond and makes her guests feel so welcome and taken care of. Thank you Mary!! We will be returning!!

Great Place
This is our second time staying at this house. I can't say enough about it. It's a few minutes off the road but the drive itself is spectacular. Wonderful views of the valley the whole way. The location provides plenty of privacy with expansive views of Paradise Valley. The house has everything you will need. The owner is very responsive with any questions.

A Little Slice Of Heaven
If you want beautiful views, privacy and quiet, then this is the place for you! The road up to the house is partially paved and partially gravel and takes a little under 15 minutes to get to from the main road. Don't let this intimidate you, as the result is well worth the drive. We enjoyed expansive views of Emigrant Peak from the house and everything we needed for our one week stay was at our fingertips. Paradise Valley has plenty of things to do including hiking, rafting on the Yellowstone, wildlife viewing, and more. There is a small general store about 10 miles from the house. We were able to get everything we needed for our stay. Things to Do: The north entrance of Yellowstone is about 45 minutes from the property. You go through the small town of Gardiner to get there. Gardiner has a larger grocery store and has some places to eat. Bozeman is about an hour from the house and has plenty of shopping and restaurants. Our favorite place to dine out was the Old Saloon (across from the general store). This place had ambiance, decent food and was very convenient to the property. The bedroom upstairs (in the loft) was a wonderful experience. There is little privacy up there, but enough to make it enjoyable. And you can't beat the views from this room. There are two additional bedrooms on the main level. Mary, the property owner, was a joy to communicate with. We did not have to, but knew we could reach out if we needed anything. Wonderful stay!

This property is amazing and we loved the views. The owner was great to communicate with and provided lists of restaurants and things to see and do. We had an amazing horseback ride in Paradise Valley, hiked the Pine Creek Trail, and did a lot of back road driving taking in all the beauty. If you are looking for a house with everything you've found it. I have rented over 50 houses in Montana over the years and this in the top five. Extremely well equipped. The views are just fantastic and completely secluded. I really can't say enough about this place. I'm already trying to figure out when I am going back next year.

Stunning Stay
This is a beautiful house with stunning views and top-notch amenities. The environment is supremely quiet, but with close access to the Northern entrance of Yellowstone (although it wasn't open when we visited due to flooding). There are also close-by activities like horseback riding and white water rafting. My family and I enjoyed our stay completely.

Breathtaking Views Beautiful Home
This was a wonderful family vacation - we had it planned for over a year then like most vacationing in Yellowstone this year the flood came and we needed to change up our plans. Mary was very upfront about what was required and what she to do as far as accommodating our changes it all worked out beautifully. We enjoyed our time at this mountain home and hope to be returning visitors!

Yellowstone Adventure
What an adventure for our first trip to Yellowstone! We had a party of six (four adults, two children) making our first trip to Yellowstone. Little did we know that we would be caught up in the "100-year" flood of the Yellowstone River. We were cut off from Gardiner to the south by a road collapse, but luckily the road north to Livingston was only temporarily impacted by water over the road. Our host, Mary, was in constant contact providing needed updates on the situation. The home itself exceeded our expectations. Everything was very clean (including the gas grill outside), beds were comfortable, rooms were spacious, and the pantry was exceptionally well-stocked with essentials. The views were spectacular! Regardless of our flood experience, we enjoyed our stay immensely and would highly recommend this home to anyone planning to visit Yellowstone and the surrounding area.

About the host

Hosted by Mary Wallace

Host profile image
I'm Irish, from Dublin, my husband is from Belfast. He and I fell in love with the Paradise Valley area when visiting in the '80s, built a large geodesic dome home and raised our two kids here. Our kids also love Montana, have traveled widely but still want to call Montana home, which makes me very happy! We have lived in Montana for over 30 years. My husband Robert built this particular house after decades of building homes here in the Emigrant area, and we never tire of the great wild wide-open spaces of Paradise Valley.

Why they chose this property

Words cannot adequately describe the specialness of this place - peaceful beyond description, private, and readily accessible. Our home has the most amazing views, especially from the upstairs bedroom - waking to the sunrise highlighting snow-capped mountains and vast mountain landscapes to the north - south - east. A most wonderful heavenly place.
