The Beach house in Pleasure Point Area

This traditional 2 bedroom beach house is cozy and comfortable. Located in the desirable Pleasure Point Area. You can walk 1 mile to the beach, surf the point or watch the sunset from the beautiful cliffs! 3 miles to the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk! Experience Santa Cruz from this world renowned surf location and one of the most popular local surf spots!

The house is small but cozy. Its full of sunshine with fresh sea air! Three quarters of a mile to the ocean! It has a private yard with a sweet garden that provides privacy. Perfect to enjoy your morning coffee.
You will have access to the 2 bedroom house, kitchen, living room, bathroom and yard plus 1 parking space on left side of driveway. Memory foam bed. The first bedroom has a queen size bed with a nova gel foam mattress. The second bedroom Sleeps two in a full size pillow top bed. The couch also pulls out into a full size bed.

The outside shed is private.

There is an attached studio with a private yard that is also private. Please do not disturb the tenant.

There is one parking space on the left side of driveway and additional free parking on street
It’s overall a very sweet spot!

The neighborhood:

Pleasure point is a small beach community. A world renowned surf spot. Home to the inventor of the wetsuit, “ Jack O’Neil “. Location of the movie “ Chasing Mavericks”
The Beach house sits 3/4 of a mile from the Beach. It’s a nice walk through the neighborhood to the end of the street where it dead ends at East Cliff Dr. which is a popular walking path along the ocean cliffs where you can watch the surfers. When the tide is out there are several small beach areas.
There are several great restaurants along 41st Ave and Portola Dr. all within a mile.
There is a New Leaf Market, and Whole Foods market, Trader Joe’s, lots of shopping, movie theatre and 2 different fitness centers all within a mile.
There is a nice park a couple blocks away with basketball, tennis courts, and children’s play area.
Just a little further away at approximately 1.7 miles to the south is the Capitola village. A sweet little beach with fun shops.
The Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk is approximately 3 -4 miles away. You can drive along the coast.

Nice place to stay for UCSC Graduation

Everything in the cottage was cozy, clean and in order. We (parents & 2 adult kids) were in town to attend the 2024 UCSC graduation ceremony. Quiet neighborhood, easy drive to Santa Cruz (definitely not close enough to walk). House had everything we needed for our brief stay.

Santa Cruz get away

Cute cottage in a quiet area within east access to beaches. Good communication with the property owner. Would be nice to upgrade the TV even though that isn’t why I came to Santa Cruz.

Waste of Money

The best thing I can say about this place is that it has good water pressure and hot water. After that it's all down hill. It is definitely NOT for 4 or 6 people, it is only suitable for 2. The door to the 2nd bedroom only opens half way because the bed is in the way. The sagging, lumpy hide-a-bed couch may have been comfortable in 1962 when it was new but it is Well Past is "use by" date. Coffee maker but No microwave. Bathroom mirror is not above sink but BEHIND you so men who shave turn 180 degrees back & forth to shave. More than half the windows need a trick to either open or close. NOT ONE chair to sit in comfortably, only lumpy couch & wooden straight back dining rm chairs. Our friends chose to go to a hotel rather than stay there. This place may work for surfers living out of their backpacks but for mature adults who travel with luggage and want comfort, keep looking elsewhere

Family friendly Beach House

Great for the family to relax without worrying. The large hammock was a favorite with the little ones. We'll keep this property on our list of places to return.

Christmas in Santa Cruz

Leslie is a gracious hostess, responsive to our many questions and needs, and her house is well-appointed, comfortable, and exactly as pictured. We enjoyed spending the holidays in Pleasure Point, an easy mile walk to the beach and situated halfway between downtown Capitola and the Santa Cruz Boardwalk.

A nice, cozy cottage

A well-maintained rental! Although it's not a large house, it was comfortable. I really liked the attention to detail with instructions and bathroom/kitchen supplies. Great location for us, since it took only minutes to get to our preferred beaches.

Cute House, Great Location, Updates needed. An Honest Review

My husband and I vacationed here with our 3 year old and dog. Pros: - Nice clean house both inside and out. - Kitchen was stocked with flatware/dishes and Coffee maker. No microwave (no biggie to us). - Nice fully enclosed private backyard. Our reactive dog loved this backyard and couldn't see out of the fence so no barking. - Nice patio furniture in backyard with mood lighting. - TV had streaming and live TV. Internet was good. - Great location!! Centrally located. About a 10 minute drive to Boardwalk. - Good eats super close to house! Wide variety for eat-in and Doordash/Grubhub delivery services. 5 minute drive to grocery store/coffee/target/CVS. - Owner very responsive and accommodating! - Bathroom was stocked with large towels and lots of toilet paper. Cons. - The bathroom needs an update on the blinds. They have one large roll blind which didn't cover the corners so anyone looking has a clear shot at the shower. Kind of a peeping toms dream. - The living room slider does not lock easily. Had some security concerns if our dog wasn't with us. - The couch is very stiff and there is only one very bright central light in the living room. We moved one of the bedroom small lamps into the living room while we were there and it worked out much better. - There are connecting neighbors. We have a young child and their laundry room was in use at his 7:30-8PM bedtime and it kept our child up, even though we brought our own sound machine. - Also for people with young children or early bedtimes, there are no curtains in the bedrooms and the blinds are not blackout. The room was still bright with blinds closed. - Not necessarily a con, but an FYI: The beds are SUPER firm with super light fluffy pillows. Nice rooms and comforters but we didn't sleep well. - Neighborhood had some action. When we pulled up there were multiple police around the neighboring train tracks. And on our last night, we were woken by speeding cars and police sirens. Overall, we enjoyed the property. Wonderful for dogs. Maybe not for little children. Wonderful location.

Comfy and convenient.

The kitchen is a little small and did not have a microwave. But I liked the place a lot. The yard being fully enclosed and private was very nice. We were happy to have room for our family of 5 for sleeping plus a good space for our dog (no steep stairs.)

Enjoyed our visit

The bungalow was exactly as described. The owner was very communicative and provided all the information we needed ahead of time. We visited with 3 younger kids, and the walk to the coast was a bit far for them. We also had a minivan. The parking spot was great, but it was tight.

Beautiful private quaint beach house!

Super cute house! Love the yard and clean comfortable house. Great location to boardwalk and Capitola Village! Did not love that it was close to the railroad tracks but the secure locked gate around the property made us feel safe. Overall great stay!

Cute place for a get away!

This cute beach cottage is nicely decorated and comfortable. What was really awesome was that clean sheets, pillows and towels were provided. Comfortable beds and a fully stocked kitchen makes this a really great value too. You will not be disappointed. Can't wait to book another trip this Summer!
