Cozy, clean, updated home located in-town Bar Harbor, a 5 minute walk from the village green.
Situated in a quiet neighborhood with a large enclosed yard, this home is a great spot for a family vacation.

Three bedrooms, one bath, fully equipped kitchen, dining room, living room and wrap around deck with table and chairs- all on one level, also with a basement-level laundry with washer/dryer.
There is a propane grill and picnic table in the fully fenced yard.

Bedrooms: master bedroom with queen bed, 2nd bedroom with queen bed, 3rd bedroom with 2 twin beds, all have have AC units.

Kitchen: all updated appliances - dishwasher, microwave, fridge, stove/oven, blender, mixer, center bar with 2 stools.

Dining room: Seating for 6 around dining table.

Living room: large couch and love seat and chair, table and bench for computer/work area, satellite TV with DVD, high speed wireless Internet.

Note: Due to insurance regulations the fireplace is non-functional.

Wonderful stay!
We have stayed at Shannon Cottage many times. It is very comfortable and well stocked. The location is perfect! It is in a quiet residential area just a couple of blocks from the town square. The fened yard is great for our dogs. The owner is lovely and provides a personal touch.

Another nice stay at Shannon Cottage
This is our 4th stay here, I think. Have lost track. It's amazing how quiet it is considering how close it is to BH ctr. We value being able to park the car (plenty of room for multiple cars although we only ever have one) and walk everywhere in town after a day in the park. Not only close to restaurants but also < 10 minute walk to the YMCA

Great Location in a Quiet Neighborhood
We loved staying at this cozy cottage! It’s conveniently located within walking distance to restaurants, shops and the waterfront. And it’s just a very short drive to explore Acadia National park. The neighborhood is very quiet. Our pup enjoyed the fenced-in backyard too 🐶 We’re looking forward to coming back to Bar Harbor soon!

Wonderful stay in Bar Harbor
Shannon Cottage was a great home base for exploring all Mount Desert Island and Acadia National Park has to offer. The house was well-stocked with essentials and kitchen gear. The fenced-in backyard was perfect for our dog. The host was communicative and helpful. Highly recommend!

As good as a high end hotel
This property was amazing. Yard and house was much bigger than expected. We had 4 adults, one kid, and 2 large dogs and had room to spare. Perfect location off of main roads but short walk to everything. Everything was stocked more than any other place I've stayed. Its clear the owners take pride and joy in this place.

Great Stay in Bar Harbor
While we had some unexpected events happen while we were on our way to and in Bar Harbor we are very thankful we truly had a home away from home! Anything and everything we could have needed was at the house and a lovely treat was waiting for us from Barbara too! Having a single story worked great for the aging family members we had with us as well. Overall I couldnt have wanted or needed anything more for our stay. We will be back to stay again!

Great location and responsive host! Needs improvement in cleanliness And maintenance.
Shannon cottage from the outside is charming and the location is fantastic. Barbara is very responsive and very helpful. Perhaps because it was the end of the season, the bathroom was not very clean, and there were a number of minor maintenance issues that need to be addressed which we communicated to her.

Very comfortable house, great location!
We have stayed at Shannon Cottage 4 times and love it there. The house is comfortable and well equipped. We take our dogs and the fenced yard is great for them. The neighborhood is quiet but a short walk to the center of Bar Harbor.

Great relaxed house in a perfect location
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property and would do so again. Clean, comfortable, everything we could need was there, and the location was perfect for exploring everything while an easy walk to town. Our pups enjoyed the yard and were at ease in the quiet neighborhood. The owner communicated well and promptly. We even had fresh flowers! Our second stay here was just as nice as our first. The house is very comfortable with a lovely, fully equipped kitchen. The fenced-in yard is great for our 50 pound lab mix.

Another fantastic visit
This was my second time booking this property and it was just as enjoyable as the last visit! The house is clean and in an amazing location, nice and quiet but close to everything we needed. When the lock stopped working, the issue was resolved quickly. I would be happy to stay here again in the future!

Vacation in Bar Harbor
My husband, my daughter and two grandaughters stayed here for a week. The location was better than expected and the house was very cozy and comfortable with everything you need. Safe and quiet neighborhood about a block from downtown. I would drive my family to dinner and then return the car to the house (husband sprained his ankle). Really enjoyed our stay at this house!

Wonderful cottage
My husband and I have enjoyed staying at Barbara's cottage for the past 5 years. We love hiking in Acadia National Park and then relaxing at the cottage with a nice dinner or going into town for an evening. The house is clean, comfortable and has everything you need. Barbara is a very responsive host as well as a lovely person.

The cottage was perfect for 4 adults and two dogs. Everything that you could ever require on vacation was provided by the homeowner. The large fenced in backyard was great place to run our dogs. Wonderful stay
I brought my daugthers (9 and 11) and also my mom and dog. The fenced in yard was very handy. The neighborhood was quiet and it was safe and easy to bike and walk. We went to town by foot most times which was super convenient. Overall, everyone enjoyed their stay. If I could make one suggestion, it would be that the house needs room darkening shades for sleep purposes.

This was our second visit to this property and it will continue to be our first choice when planning upcoming trips to Bar Harbor. It's located in a quiet neighborhood that was within an easy walk to town and the water. Very close to hiking trails. We appreciated the special touches, including toiletries to cover unexpected needs and fresh flowers and chocolates on arrival. We're happy to have found this gem. It makes for easy trip planning in the future.
