Loved the location it was an easy short walk to Morro Beach. Cute house! However the house was a little dated the kitchen and bathrooms could use updating. The heating system was dated as well so the bathrooms were very cold for the time of year we were there. The owners were very good about responding to our needs and very friendly.
We had a great week at this property, and enjoyed the short walk to the beach. Photos of the property give an accurate depiction, the home is a little older but well maintained and was very clean and very comfortable.
Wonderful visit. Great location, clean, spacious, comfortable, quiet and safe for the kids. We enjoyed the walks to the beach, watching the sunset, and the trip to the natural history museum. The home is older but very comfortable and we had everything we needed. Spencer’s grocery store is just down the road on hwy 1. We enjoyed our stay
Was a very comfortable stay at Morro bay with very easy beach access . The house was very nice and spacious and accommodated 6 of us very easily . Cute backyard with lime and lemon trees . Morro bay and Cayucos towns are nearby with great restaraunts .
This is an older property that is in great condition. It was comfortable and is only 2 blocks to the beach! Beautiful citrus trees in the private back yard! The neighborhood is quiet and well kept. It was the perfect getaway for our family!
My family and I had a great visit to the central coast. This house is in a quiet neighborhood just a block from the beach. Property is exactly as advertised. Beds are very comfortable and the house had everything you need to relax and enjoy some down time!
Very quiet neighborhood and access to the beach is just around the corner!
The home was comfortable. The owner was very quick to respond to a question about the internet. We enjoyed ourselves!
Nice simple place to stay. The walk to the beach was super short and wonderful. Walked up and down the beach picking up sand dollars. Short drive to main town for dinner.
We unfortunately did not read the listing carefully before booking last minute. No dishwasher with 5 of us was no fun. The kitchen was not good for cooking, between the lack of pots, pans, and containers, and the poor quality of the utensils provided. The overall maintenance of the property is very lacking (rust in the tub drain =can’t bathe the kids). Would not recommend for families with young kids, and personally didn’t feel it was worth the price at all for the quality of what was provided.
We will certainly consider another stay at this cute little get away. Location was great. Plenty of room. Warm and cozy.
We would have liked to stay longer. Bathroom sinks did not drain well and lighting could be improved but otherwise very delightful.
We have stayed at many vacation home rentals as a family. This was a pleasant stay. The price matched the quality. I would stay here again based on the location and price. The beach is 1.5 block away!! My kids boogie board and surfed 4 times at the beach just down the road, in the 3 days we were there. My husband and I also rode our ebikes from the rental to the Embarcadero twice(the bike trail is only 3 blocks away) Overall the house is a bit old but if you don't mind that vibe you'll love the price point. The only negative was not having a dishwasher but we managed. Be sure to bring your own: dishwashing sponge, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and laundry soap. The owner was very attentive with any questions. We are already planning to stay there again in the fall. Thank you for the memories!!!
This little house is just right for family. It is in good condition, but not so refined that there is fear of relaxing. Even though it is small, it has a very good layout. Each area is spacious. There is a convenient hose in the back yard to wash off beach sand. We thoroughly enjoyed our time and plan to book it again. It could use a "woman's touch" to change out some of the kitchen utensils.
The 4 beds were comfortable, the bedrooms, living room, bathrooms, and kitchen were clean, and all of the necessities for our stay were in the home. It could use some updating of decor and linens and some attention to the spiderwebs inside and outside, but overall the house met our needs and we enjoyed our stay. The refrigerator should be looked at because it makes a clicking noise that you can hear in the master bedroom while trying to sleep.
We enjoyed our stay on Gilbert St. In Morro Bay. We were there for a quick weekend wedding in Cayucos. Slept 6 of us well. The pics of home are accurate. The decor & home is older, but clean. The neighborhood felt very safe. The beds in bedrooms we’re comfortable & nice bedding. The 2 twin beds are at the far side of the living room, but in the living room. Worked out fine for us. Kitchen had everything we needed. 5 min. walk to the beach. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Don’t believe the photos, older house needs some TLC
Firstly, the property manager was great. Had two separate issues that required attention, both quickly resolved. Don’t believe the photos that show a fireplace, it doesn’t work, nether does the ice maker/water dispenser shown. While unloading the car, found an old fuzz covered zip tie under the kitchen table, lots of crumbs in a cupboard, back yard needs care, nice washer/dryer though
The owner could spend a little money and buy new sheets and towels as they were all stained. I would also recommend that the cleaning crew actually vacuum or shake out the covers on the sofas. There were light bulbs missing and paint peeling. Light switches didn’t always work. With that said, it is a great location and good for short stays when most of your activity is away from the home such as wine tasting or beach dwelling. Easy walk to the beach and close to a supermarket.
We were looking for a place in Morro Bay/Cayucos area. Althought his house is located in an amazing neighborhood, there were issues with the house. I have stayed in a lot of VRBO's over the last ten years. This neighborhood is just a short walk from Morro Strand beach. The boardwalks were wonderful to take our grandaughter on walks. The park had nice facilities and clean restrooms. Being able to see Morro Rock as your strolled the boardwalk was incredible.
The house....the fact that most of the windows do not open or have screens can make it quite stuffy inside during the summer. In addition, the couches were not comfortable and the slip covers had pet hair on them. Although one of the couches was a hide a bed, I cnnot imagine what the comfort level would be with the state that the couches were in. The kitchen did have the basics. However, as we sat down to dinner we realized we only had five forks for six adults. We made do with a larger serving fork, but honestly I was disappointed. It would not take much to make this place one that I would go back to. But, as its, I will be looking for something else on my return.
The overall stay was nice. The garage door was broken upon arrival and the management company was available to take my call, but couldn’t come out to repair which was an inconvenience to close manually all weekend when we needed the extra room in the driveway. (Property has a short driveway). One of the neighbors parks in front of the rental so you lose that parking also (little blue car).
We also had a sand issue upon check in. The front room (living room) bed near the window had sand all over the comforter). We took the comforter outside and cleaned it off.
The cleanliness over all of the house was good. The decor was okay but seemed like it was a lot of Mia-marched items from Goodwill and thrift stores.
The backyard could use some tree trimming and cleaning up if you wanted to use it for little kids or something. There is a small patio covering that didn’t have a cover anymore, but the 2 x 4 beam is low enough to hit your head on it. (Ask me how I know).
For the location and quietness of the neighborhood, I guess it was a decent price? Personally between a hotel room and VRBO. I’ll probably stick with a hotel. Hotels are consistent on what will be available in the room where as the VRBOs are hit or miss? (I.e. I know a hotel will always have an iron and ironing board….VRBO’s not so much.)

Not worth the price
I am a Vacation rental owner in same area, but family was staying in my house, so I rented this one close by. It does not sleep 6, since only a king and 2 twins, couches are so old we had to help each other up. Kitchen is no where a "full kitchen" 1 skillet, 1 sauce pan, no salt and pepper, agency said due to Covid19, but previous years reviews said same thing. Stove burner is broken and wrong size stand on coil, making very dangerous to use. Food particles still in burner trays and they are very corroded. Drip coffee maker heating plate was so corroded that it was a fire hazard. Only 2 electric outlets in kitchen and 1 is hidden, the other is next to sink and microwave takes up 1 plug. Lifted throw rugs so as not to trip and pile of dirt underneath, front door mat was full of sand. Windows have not been cleaned on outside in years, cobwebs, leaves, dirt are in the outside window frames, Kitchen chairs are extremely uncomfortable (bar in front cuts into thighs) so all meals were eaten at coffee table. Dining table is very unsteady and not easy to get to since couch is blocking it. This house was built in 1953, but has not been taken care off. The only thing it has going for it is couple of blocks to beach. Will be interesting to see what happens when MB Fire Dept starts doing the inspections on VR's. There were some puzzles but small and Star Wars, no games were found and there was a binder with some maps but not identified, just stuck in cabinet with TV and not organized in any way. This house is what gives a bad name to Vacation Rentals, especially at this price. Mine is 4 bedrooms, sleeps 8, across street to beach access and is only a few $$ more per night in summer and weekends. I understand that this house DOES NOT have repeat guest and that is very understandable. The only good thing was working with the agency, when called about the heater thermostat, he was right there to see what could be done, it needed to be replaced. Unlike the title of this house, it is NOT the PERFECT getaway.
