Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Nice place. Wish there would've been fire pits for every cabin. When I'm up north camping a fire is mandatory! All in all it was a great vacation

Wonderful getaway

The property was as advertised. Clean with all the items needed to cook, sleep and watch cable TV. With that said, it wasn't totally let friendly because they wouldn't let the dogs on their small beach even though there were no children or adults using it. They also said all dogs must be on leashes when they had a large open area to let the dogs run.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The cabin was nicely furnished with 4 TV's and 2 bathrooms code door and WIFI. That was nice. I would look for another place to stay next time for the following reasons: The large couch had an unpleasant odor, The bathrooms and bedrooms are nice but they are small, the steps and walkway were solid ice and dangerous, the cabins are fitted together to get as many as possible on the grounds which is ok for some but I prefer more room.

Also a note to renters that pulling a long (28 ft) into cabin area is NOT recommended. Especially in the winter. We did but was able to turn it around without getting stuck.

Tons of fun!

Dad almost caught the biggest musky of his life (40+!!!) on Found Lake but sadly we didn’t have a musky net and it bounced out! We played mini golf and rode go karts at Elmers. We came up with a large group that stayed in multiple cabins so we spent most of our evenings playing cornhole toss, eating fish and living it up! We personally enjoyed the size of our cabin as it was just what 4 people and our great Dane needed. Lola enjoyed all the outdoor wildlife and walks on the property. The only thing this cabin was missing was a broom but the vacuum cleaner did the trick. We brought in a lot of sand! The beds were perfect, the couches comfortable and the stove worked great!

Cozy and Clean Little Cabin

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This cabin is where it all began for us almost a quarter century ago on Little St. It was as we remembered it. The bed was very comfortable and we had good night sleeps. Only wish the bedrooms and bathrooms were a little larger. A suggestion for the bathrooms would be to put a 12 inch wide shelf attached to wall next to the sink so you have some place to put your things. All in all, the cabin was cleaner than the rental houses that we stay in. The bed was comfortable, the refrigerator still working like a charm and the tv was working with no issues. It was great to be on the grounds of Elbert's again.

Reviewer Comments: The Elm cabin was very nice, with more than adequate kitchen supplies, dishes, glassware, etc. We found several light bulbs burned out y promised to send maintenance to supply new ones, but they never came. The smoke alarm in one bedroom was very sensitive. It alarmed when we used the oven, though the one in the kitchen area did not. We also found that better attention to cleaning is in order, as we found cobwebs in various locations such as in corners and from the ceiling. The gas fireplace made for a cozy warm atmosphere, and the front sitting area with a limited view of the lake was also very nice.

It took 4 phone calls and 3 days to fix a kitchen faucet. We had to use the kitchen of another cabin to do dishes because of having no water in the kitchen. We are in our upper 80's !!

No towels!

Elm - Elbert's - Hiller cabin rentals

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was more than happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Felt safe, location was good. However, once inside it was a different experience. As soon as we opened the door you could smell a nasty odor...like a soaking wet dog had laid on the carpet for days. (I love dogs, but the smell was horrible, and we bought candles to try and help the odor.) The carpet was filthy! When sitting on the couch it was like sitting on the floor as they were so low to the floor. The furnace wasn't working but was quickly looked at and the the proper person called to repair. The bathrooms were not clean. I needed to clean the toilet when we got there. The bathroom door had a hole in it, and the bedroom door had a hole in it. The bedroom ceiling had 3 holes in it and whole place could use a paint job. The coffee table had one corner of the top chewed off. The bedroom ceiling fan is so crooked it looks like it's going to come loose and fall at any time. Once you got the fan running it took extremely hard pulls on the chain to get it shut off (another feeling that the ceiling fan was going to fall down). All in all, it was horrible and disappointing. Way overpriced!!! Will not stay there again. We complained twice, but no compensation was offered. If we had been compensated we may have given them another chance.
