Lovely oasis

What a wonderful property. Stayed here with our friends and three small children. Lovely decorations for Christmas. The kids loved petting the cat and dog on the property. The beds were fairly comfortable and the space was nice and roomy. Overall would recommend!

Beautiful Location

Serenity Valley is as advertised. Beautiful and serene. Located in a rural area, but, beautifully landscaped with ponds, fishing piers, and an outdoor fire pit. It offers a very comfortable stay for 6 adults giving each their own bed and bath facilities. The kitchen area is small but, easily accommodated cooking a meal or two during our stay. We highly recommend a stay at Serenity Valley.

Winter get-a-way

Family members (4 adults and 2 children) spent 4 days in a very comfortable cabin away from our homes, no work, no stress. The cabin had a well equipped kitchen and even bunk beds for the kids. A great place to just spend some time.

quick stay

Love, Love, Love this house! Needed a place for Luther College graduation and so thankful it was available! We didn't want to leave. The grounds were amazing, everything was clean and their animals made our stay so fun! I would highly recommend staying here if you are in the area. It was well worth the 20 min drive to Decorah.

Perfect getaway

Loved the property and home. Very welcoming and so much to offer. The only downside was the smell of either a hog farm near by or the manure that the farmers spread in the field.

We just finished our annual girls weekend and absolutely loved Serenity Valley. The pictures are great but the place itself is even better. Beautiful outdoor space. Lots to do. Hope to do it again next year.

Perfect Spot for Relaxing

The property owners were very friendly. It was perfect for the kids to play and have fun and the parents to relax. I would say it is best to bring all food with you as restaurants are about 20 minutes away. When you get there you won't want to leave anyways.

Quiet and Relaxing

The three days spent at Serenity Valley were wonderful. Just what 6 senior college friends needed for relaxing and reminiscing. The beautiful grounds, the fishing ponds and the fire pit area provided excellent gathering spots for stories to be told and laughter following! This home is one of the best the area provides.

Amazing stay!

We recently stayed at Serenity Valley and had an amazing time to say the least! We spent most days on the pond fishing, kayaking, and swimming. We were able to eat all meals outside on thepatio overlooking the beautiful grounds. The inside of the property was amazing too.. plenty of room for everyone to spread it. The kids loved the bunk beds! Everything that we may have needed was there and the hosts were a text away for questions. Can't say enough good things about this place.. hope to be back next summer!

Perfect place to get away

This place has got a little for everyone. If you want to be outside or inside. It has great amenities for either. The pictures look amazing and yet still somehow don't do the place justice! The owners were super friendly! More than willing to leave us be, but if we initiated a conversation, more than willing to have a great chat. If/when we make another trip to the area, we most certainly will be back!!

Beautiful accommodations...Beyond expectations

The property is beautiful, relaxing and met all of our needs. The whole place is decorated beautifully and with high-end finishes. Beds were cozy and comfortable. The fire pit area seats several people and is a great plus when you want to sit outside and enjoy star gazing. The two resident dogs greeted us most times we arrived back to the house. Fluffy, the cat, was so cute and very entertaining to watch when we were outdoors. 😄 We'll go back again, if we're in town with a group. The owners made check-in and checkout a breeze and were available if we needed anything. 10 stars!!!!

Wonderful and Relaxing Getaway

Serenity Valley is a beautiful place. We were in town for the Luther College Christmas concert in Decorah so was only an 18–20-minute commute. The pictures do not do it justice as the cabin is spacious with beautiful woodwork. We stayed in December and everything was decorated to the hills for Christmas! Even had a Christmas tree. The cabin had all the amenities that a family could need. The property is spacious with opportunity to swim and kayak. Deb is a wonderful host and was available if needed. Will be back again. Thank you!

Wonderful

This was a beautiful place to stay at the night before my wedding! The owners were very welcoming and even set up tables and mirrors for my hairdressers and makeup artist to set up all their supplies! I would very much love to go back again maybe at a warmer time to enjoy the lake and the campfire area.

Country Living at its Best

Our stay in Ossian was one of the best ever! The large country property was well manicured and offered many amenities. The house was decorated beautifully for fall and was extremely comfortable. Bedrooms and bathrooms were designed to accommodate our friends as well as any family group. We will return.

Host profile image
Serenity Valley was built in 2014 and opened for business in January of 2015. The land is owned and managed by Dan and Deb Hageman who farmed the land for over 40 years. In 2005 development of the large pond began and thousands of trees were planted. In subsequent years, three more ponds were developed, a shelter, dock, bridge, arbor, and woodworking shop were built , and several more trees and flowerbeds were planted. In October of 2013 construction on the log home began. Golden Eagle log homes provided most of the materials and plans for the home. All three Hageman boys, Matt, Mitch and Adam, contributed to the design and/or development of the home and property. Serenity Valley is the realization of a 30 year dream for the Hageman family.

What makes this property unique

Whether you want to listen to the frogs sing, gaze at the stars, photograph wildlife, or just sit beside a crackling fire, Serenity Valley is the place to kick back, enjoy nature, and spend time re-connecting with family and friends.
