Fantastic home and location

Perfect Family getaway!

Relaxation at its best

This property is a wonderfully relaxing getaway with space and openness that lives large. Really enjoy the modern amentities, appliances, furnishings, and most importantly view of the ocean and close proximity to the beach. Just can’t beat it, as there are also great restaurants and shops within walking distance too!

Wow what a spot

What an amazing job by Jillian, the property was perfect and has an amazing location for anyone that wants to surf beacons or Grandview. They have all the right stuff for cooking and the place has an amazing view. I can't praise this spot enough.

Relaxing Stay at Leucadia!

Amazing!!!

One of my best VRBO stay in a long time. All aspects from responsiveness, check in and cleanliness were amazing. They owners literally thought of everything to make it a special stay. The property manager, Jillian, was very helpful. They even provided a Welcome Basket that was very much appreciated as we checked in late and we had no food. We plan to return!

Spledid getaway

To be perfectly honest, this property was at the top of our vacation budget, but I can tell you that it was absolutely worth it. Every detail has been well thought out and the amenities are immaculate. The view alone was worth the price of admission ; ). Overall it was a great stay and the communication with the property manager was top notch along with ease of access to the unit.

Wonderful holiday by the beach

My wife and I rented the property with our kids and mother-in-law over Christmas. Everything about it is absolutely first class. From the easy communication with the hosts, to the beautiful furnishings and finishes, to the provisions that were provided from bikes to iPhone chargers, the owners have truly thought of everything. There are beautiful views, a short walk to the beach, and a fantastic donut shop a block away!

Quick Escape

We loved our stay at Sea Loft! Location is great with a quick walk to the beach. Wonderful welcome basket. We have stayed at a lot of rentals and the kitchen was absolutely one of the best stocked we ever had! Out of habit we always bring towels, umbrellas, boogies boards, chairs and a cooler...... it ALL stayed in the car. They had everything.

What a beautiful, contemporary and family- friendly beach house house! Steps from the Ocean!

My family and I traveled from Washington, DC and we were looking for a family friendly beach house walking distance to the beach. We were welcomed by Jillian with a wonderful basket of wine, coffee and snacks.The beach house house is stunning--with a Malibu contemporary design. Each room is welcoming with comfortable spaces and plenty of room to spread out. We loved the cruiser bikes, boogie boards, surf boards and the gym in the garage. We walked everyday to the beach and enjoyed afternoon bike rides. We only wished we had more time to enjoy the sunsets from the outdoor patio space. We cannot wait to visit again. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

A surfer chic spectacular stay

Our family of 4 loved this boho-chic, nearly oceanfront property. Jillian, the property manager, was informative and went above and beyond making sure everything was just right. The property is new and decorated in a high end surfer-chic motif. It was very clean, with comfortable beds and a well stocked kitchen as well as baths. The balcony is spacious with comfortable furniture and peekaboo views of the Pacific. We loved the stocked garage full of gym equipment, surf and boogie boards, and all things beach related. We especially loved the beach cruiser bikes which we used everyday. The area is great for taking a leisurely ride with the sounds of the ocean in the background. There were a lot of sweet little extras-such as the the lovely welcome gift basket, use of an instant Polaroid camera, binoculars, chilled drinks in the fridge upon arrival, bathroom toiletries, wireless printer and even flameless candles set to come on in the evenings. Every detail was well thought out within the property, making our stay one of our favorites in Southern California. We have rented dozens of oceanfront homes and townhouses in the Encinitas area over the past decade and even though Sealoft is not direct oceanfront, this is one of our new favorites. We will definitely return and recommended it to friends and family.

Surprisingly placid Leucadia

My wife and I were "refugees" from a wildfire raging in Santa Barbara and Montecito, so decided to spend Christmas in the San Diego area, where my in-laws live rather than at our Montecito home, which, even though the fire threat was over, was covered with ash and soot. Many places were already called for in La Jolla and closer in but someone recommended we look further north, in Escondido and Leucadia. Everything seemed taken there too, but we stumbled upon this, which had just opened up, and booked immediately. It was everything we could have hoped for and were afraid we wouldn't find. We did not know the area at all, never having been here, and were concerned that Neptune was a main thoroughfare and may have proven noisy. But the one-way street turned out to be as quiet as a summer breeze, and a stroller's haven, as a main beach stairway featuring a large parking area, is just a block away. We enjoyed sitting on the patio and watching people and pets meander by. Highway 101 (with a maximum speed of 35 mph going through town!) and the trains are just over the hill but may as well have been 100 miles away. All we could see and hear across the street was the sun and the ocean. Inside, cotton sheets with high thread counts, large fluffy 100% cotton towels, a big "welcome" basket and a bottle of Prosecco in the fridge greeted our arrival, along with the owners of the unit, who were helpful, friendly, and informative. There are two ocean-fronting apartments here; we chose the downstairs one (still up one flight of stairs) because my 91-year-old mother-in-law was going to join us for Christmas dinner. Otherwise, we probably would have chosen the upstairs unit; its patio is smaller but the view is better. We cooked and served Christmas dinner for 8 thanks to a well-stocked and roomy kitchen and the thoughtfulness of the owners, who supplied us with utensils and other implements we couldn't bring along with us. All in all, a delightful stay, allowing us an elegant three-day respite and a revelatory look at an attractive low-profile (no tall buildings at all) but sophisticated California coastal area with a spectacular west-facing beach featuring continuous ocean swells for miles. Pretty cool.

Wow! Amazing!!

What a special place! Just spent 6 fun days at this very cool, luxury loft. My family of 4 (2 teens) did not want to leave! Definitely the Best VRBO!! We Loved the location and the vibe of this designer decorated loft. It is exactly as pictured and even better in person. Exceptionally clean, everything brand new, and perfectly tidy. The owners Steve and Laura, put a lot of thought and care into providing every ameninity you could possible think of so their guests can just enjoy family time and relax. It was the little things that made our stay so special. Upon arrival, hot and tired, we were greeted with a handwritten welcome note, thoughtful basket filled with snacks, cold drinks in the fridge and even cream for our coffee in the am. (No need to run to the store). Nespresso coffee machine w/ pods (loved), cube phone chargers next to the bed (genius), ice cooler w/ ice packs in the freeezer ready to go for the beach, surfer wall with trundle bed (very comfortable), cozy blankets, soft textured rugs, beach towels, plenty of beach chairs, beach cruisers w/ Locks, surfboards , boogie boards, umbrellas, sun shades, outdoor shower, the list goes on! Basically you won’t need to rent or bring anything but a bathing suit. Location was perfect for our family. Quiet one way street with the Grandview beach entrance only a block down. Beach was never crowded, mostly locals and perfect rolling waves for boogie boarding and surfing. Loved the deck for morning coffee and sunset drinks w/ illuminated solar candles. Jillian, the on site manager was awesome! She checked in with us upon arrival, quick response, and just a text away if you need anything! Met the owners, Also very warm, and friendly. Made sure we had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. Laura even purchased more surfboards after she noticed we were short. Very accommodating and much appreciated! Love Leucadia/ Encinitas! Very laid back surfer town, cute shops and a lot of amazing places to eat. We Enjoyed riding the bikes into town to eat at Encinitas fish shop and Handels homemade ice cream! I would highly recommend this beautiful rental and Already checking our calanders to return next year! Thank you for the wonderful memories!!

A beautiful spot close to beach access.

This property was very much as advertised. Clearly, the owners made every effort to be their guests. Everything from thoughtful welcome gifts to on-site bicycles, helmets, beach chairs, beach toys etc. was available onsite. Each unit was appointed beautifully, providing a very relaxing stay. In fact, we probably stayed at the property much more time than we usually would on vacation because it was so relaxing just being there. We rented all three available condos and upon arrival discovered that a fourth condo in the rear of the property is both private and occupied by the property caretakers. We found them observant but not intrusive during our stay, though they were clearly interested in whether we were respecting the property as per the rental agreement. Bottom line, this was probably one of the top properties we’ve ever contracted for a short stay and we would definitely recommend it to others. Just know that although there are four parking spaces in front of the property, only three are available to guests; one for each condo. That caused us a last minute scramble when we arrived because we had already worked out that there would be plenty of parking for our four cars, not knowing one was reserved for the caretakers. In the end, it wasn’t a big deal because we found nearby street parking when necessary.

Grandview Getaway

What an amazing vacation spot! From the decor, cleanliness and location of this property to the management team, we were all impressed. Having the bikes, boogie boards, surf boards, beach chairs and beach towels made going to the beach, which was less than a five minute walk away, so easy. Loved sitting on the decks in the morning with our coffee as well as enjoying happy hour and the beautiful sunsets in the evening. We highly recommend this property- it was well suited for our teenage grandkids, our adult kids and us (the grandparents!). We would love to return some day. Thank you Steve, Laura, Seth and Tennille!

Perfect spot for family to gather

The three units we rented were pristine; fresh, clean, so well stocked we could have had a feast for dozens. Nice extra touches like record players and records, guitars, toiletries and cleaning supplies. Beach, which was gorgeous, was just a short walk away. It was perfect!

Super Clean & Modern Beach Vibe

- The unit is well appointed. There are comfy beds (including the Murphy bed), and clean linens/towels. The kitchen has lots of serving pieces, all the utensils needed and a Nespresso machine with a milk frother. There is also a full sized washer and dryer with laundry starter kits, iron, hair dryer. It has everything you need for the beach with towels, chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards, bikes, helmets, mini cooler, etc. The gym equipment with free weights and mats were also nice to have there. It was great to fly in and not worry about bringing too much with us from home fora beach vacation. - We loved the décor. - quiet neighborhood. - very close to Grandview beach - beautiful view of the ocean from the deck

Simply perfect

We could not have had a better stay. What amazing hosts! So responsive to our every need and furnished the house beautifully. We are a young family and especially enjoyed frequenting the three different beaches within 2 miles. Every piece of beach equipment needed was provided, allowing us to travel just a bit lighter. We plan to come back! Thank you again.

Simply Incredible

This was by far one of the best places we have ever stayed at. The place was beyond comfortable- both inside and out. The location and view was superb, and the access to just about every amenity you would want/ need (bikes, boogie boards, beach chairs and umbrellas) made this the perfect vacation. Steve and Laura were incredible hosts, and made sure we had everything we needed. This was truly like a 5-star resort stay.

Excellent choice for a relaxing socal vacation

Place was spotless. Property owners were responsive, flexible and gracious at every opportunity. One block to a relatively quiet beach, great deck with views, well appointed kitchen and access to small gym area. If we come back to the area this will be the first place we will look to book.

We grew up as family friends in the Pacific Northwest, and both relocated to sunny Southern California on our own in the '80s - Laura to Newport Beach, and Steve to the Carlsbad area. In 1994, on a snowboarding trip to Oregon with mutual friends, we renewed our friendship and were married on the La Jolla shores the following year. We have lived and worked in the Encinitas area ever since – we absolutely love the weather, the beaches, the community vibe, and the location just doesn’t get much better. We love to cook, travel, meet people, and create & share new places with others.
