Wonderful home in Harbor Country, perfect spot for your getaway. One short block to the sandy shores of Lake Michigan. Our home is peaceful and comfortable with plenty of room for everyone. Large wrap around fenced-in yard with lush gardens, hammock, fire pit, and new Weber gas grill. We have two cozy screened in porches at front and back of the house. Our sun filled kitchen is the heart of the home, with ample space for cooking and hanging out before dinner. We've got everything you need for your carefree beach vacation - including beach chairs, umbrellas, beach towels, and even a wagon for carrying it all down to the best beach.

Perfect spot. Perfect location.

Perfect beach cottage. Super close to the beach and "downtown" Union Pier and very well equipped for an easy stay - everything you need in a kitchen to feed the lot plus beach chairs, towels, and umbrellas, etc for hanging out. Best part is there are sooo many windows allowing you to open up the house and take advantage of the cool SW Michigan nights after a hot day at the beach.

Fantastic Beach Home!

We were are family of 5 adults. Plenty of room, super cute, better than the photos.Fully stocked kitchen, everything you would need. Loved the backyard with the fire pit. The location was amazing ,close to the beach, local store and coffee shop. Susan & Victor are incredible hosts!

Location is perfect! We loved the large dining area for meals and games. The fire pit was perfect for evening s’mores! The house is comfortable and inviting. Lots of towels, beach chairs, and the perfect wagon to help cart it all to the beach.

We had another wonderful stay! This year we made a point to use the backyard fire pit which came loaded with tons of firewood. Such a great family tradition spot!!

The Pefect Stay

We have rented several houses in Union Pier and this is by far the best one. Everything was top notch. We love to cook at home and the kitchen has everything you need and then some. And a Weber grill! Plus a large table to dine at if you have a bigger group. Also, towels, bedding etc great quality. I have stayed at many places where that was not the case. Great fire pit area in the yard where we sat at night several times. When the owners say a quick walk to the beach they mean it. I wouuld say about 5 minutes. I never really timed it due to how close it was. The beach was great and owners provided Tommy Bahama chairs and plenty of beach towels. Communication was great as I spoke with Susan serveral times. Will definitely be back. Thanks for a great week for our family.

Great family house for playing at the beach!

We enjoyed four nights with my husband and four children ages 8, 6, 4, and 2 and my mother and father in law. We slept comfortably and loved the spacious and well supplied kitchen and large dining table. We easily walked to the beach multiple times a day to play in the sand and water. The front and back porches were great additional spaces for spreading out. Everything was very clean and well organized!

Everything at this house is amazing. They had everything you could need for great family trip. The beach is a very short walk away. The hosts were great and easy to contact. We will definitely stay here again next chance he get.

Awesome house for family beach getaway!

We loved this house! It was a great location - about a 5 minute walk to the beach and also a short walk to the Black Currant Bakehouse for morning coffee. The house is so well designed and comfortable. We loved sitting in the backyard by the fire pit and on the hammock. The grill is great. The beds were comfortable and the bedding great! The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed! We were 7 and fit comfortably in the house. We had everything we needed including beach chairs and towels and a wagon to get it all to the beach. We highly recommend it and can’t wait to come back!

Three Gems Cottage is a gem

A very comfortable cottage, well decorated and stocked with everything you need in the kitchen and throughout the house. The gardens surrounding the cottage were absolutely lovely at the beginning of August. Very short walk to great beach - soft sand and lovely vistas. The only caveat in the house might be that the stairs to go to the second floor are old and very shallow so anyone that is a bit unsteady may find them a challenge. As for the beach, the public area is fine, but it is bordered on both sides by prominent signs that read "Private Beach!" I don't think I have ever seen that posting before. We were a family of four adults and one four year old child and there was enough to do in the surrounding area. If you need a day trip, St. Joseph has a wonderful carousel and lots of shops and restaurants. p.s. the bakery in Union Pier is amazing and the hosts give a lot of restaurant information in a packet in the house.

Perfect home for a perfect vacation

Absolutely lovely house within minutes of one of, if not, the best beach in the area. Wonderfully appointed home that has everything you need for a perfect beach trip. Room for the whole family, of all ages. Fantastic hosts, don’t pass this one up!

Absolutely Wonderful!

Amazing location and property. The place had ample beds for kids, and the trundle setup on the top floor is excellent. Between beach chairs, wagon, and sand toys - we truly didn’t want for much during our stay! Highly recommend and can’t wait to return!

Blissful Birthday Getaway

We returned just yesterday from our wonderful stay at Susan and Victor’s cottage. My young adult sons, my brother, and I gathered to celebrate my milestone birthday. And it was all we hoped for. Everything was just so…easy. Susan responded in record time to my one or two initial questions. The kitchen is impressively stocked. . . I didn’t need to bring most of the kitchen supplies I packed! And Susan was kind enough to let me “borrow” a few peppers from her lovely garden for our dinners. The layout was perfect for us and allowed for both privacy and generous common areas to spend time together. One of my sons had a few remote meetings — the upstairs front bedroom has a little nook with a desk that was perfect for him, with a strong WiFi connection, too. Other reviewers mentioned kind touches such as complimentary toiletries. Or the best of both worlds — proximity to the beach as well as a feeling of privacy from the mature trees that provided a buffer from any sounds from neighbors. But, for us, the icing on the cake was the back area — one of the best fire pits I’ve found, and a back yard that’s large enough for silly grownups to play a little frisbee. Thank you so much, Susan and Victor. You made my 65th birthday one of the most memorable ones of my life, for both me and my family.

Great cottage for all ages!

Our multi-generation family enjoyed this property. The cottage was well equipped with everything we could need. The beach is a short walk away. The cottage is well stocked with beach equipment including chairs, umbrellas, toys and even a wagon to haul it all! We hope to stay at this cottage again!

Great all around

We spent a week in August and have only good things to say. The location is a 5 minute walk to McKinley beach which is quieter than other beaches, and the house has everything- chairs, umbrellas, laundry detergent, paper towels, cable- it’s all there. We didn’t cook but it’s a fully equipped kitchen. This is a perfect spot for a relaxing beach vacation!

A wonderful week at perfect beach cottage!

We had the most wonderful week at Susan and Victor's cottage. This was a family trip to meet up with other relatives in the area before a wedding. The cottage is super cute, bright and fresh and very comfortable and roomy - enough to have all the family over for dinner one evening. We didn't want for anything. The kitchen was VERY well supplied. There was plenty of space for my daughter and her husband to work remotely and still feel like they were on holiday. The wifi was perfect. We loved the porches in the front and back. There was space to squirrel yourself away to work or read or to be with the family in the main area. Loved all the flowers and the herbs in the garden too and the picture perfect arbor and picket fence. It was so warm we didn't use the firepit, but we'd love to another time. Our daughter and her husband had their own upstairs area and we had the downstairs bedroom and bathroom - so everyone had their privacy. But there would be room for our other daughter and the grandkids too. We hope we can return with them all next year as they would love it. Super easy walk to the beautiful beach. Really, everything was thought of - beach chairs, a cart to take your things to the beach, towels, and it wasn't just that they were supplied, everything was so nicely done and beachy. I think we will have some competition from other family members to rent it next year, because everyone loved it. Thanks for sharing it!

We love the short drive from Chicago and always look forward to getting away from it all to Three Gems Cottage. The beaches in Union Pier are stunning. This is an incredibly relaxing and refreshing retreat. We cherish our time here and we know you will as well.

Why they chose this property

This property has been a dream come true for us. Our cottage is quiet, clean, cozy, (yet spacious) warm and welcoming. We can cross the street and walk one short block to Lake Michigan's shoreline. We love taking leisurely walks through the neighborhood, and the town of Union Pier is a nice easy walking distance from Three Gems Cottage.

What makes this property unique

Home sweet home and so close to the beach. Relaxing evenings abound.. whether sitting by the fire pit in the back yard, gathering with friends and family at the huge dining room table...barbecuing, or just relaxing in the spacious screened back porch, we cherish every moment here.
