Talahi Ranch is located in the gentle rolling foothills at the base of the California's Sierra Nevada. It sleeps up to four and guests have a private entrance and laundry privileges, plus free WiFi and a 48" flat screen TV. The small town community of Prather is just four miles away. Here you will find several restaurants, a CVS pharmacy, Mar-Val Food Store, two gas station/mini marts and more. You will be staying close to several several lakes, one in the foothills and four more in the nearby Sierra Nevada. The Sierra National Forest offers hiking, mountain biking, fishing, boating, sailing, hunting, several 4-wheel drive trails, horseback riding, back country pack trips, swimming, white water kayak adventures, spectacular photographic opportunities and bird watching. The McKinley Grove of Giant Sequoias is just over a hours drive. For winter visitors, China Peak Ski resort is just an hours drive and there are five Sno Parks where you can ride sleds, throw snowballs and have lots of family fun.

Very peaceful getaway

The house was just as described in the listing if not better. I enjoyed peaceful nights underneath the stars and watching the sun set over the beautiful property. Deborah and her husband were very hospitable and communicative, I would recommend Talahi Ranch to anyone looking to stay in the area!

Unfortunate check-in experience

The check-in instructions were completely wrong and I ended up walking into 2 separate private and occupied areas before contacting the owner for clarification. The owner did not in any way acknowledge that it was their mistake. I was extremely uncomfortable having entered these private areas of the home and still not being able to figure out what space I had booked. If the owner had not answered the call I would have left and forfeited the booking.
