Peaceful charmer on the lake

Our visit was a Maine dream come true. The house was lovely! Sparkling clean, stunning view, and completely equipped, it was everything we hoped for. The hosts were gracious, attentive and available. Given the bonus of its quiet location and the serenity of the surroundings, we give this home the highest recommendation.

Relaxfull

Absolutely beautiful, a place to relax and unwind. Wonderful lake view, the place was clean and had everything you needed. Enjoyed the visit of the Loon family, ducks and a bald eagle. Definitely looking forward to returning again.

Peaceful retreat with outstanding customer service and exquisitely clean property

The serenity and beauty of this place on the lake soothes one's soul with tranquility. Cleanest property we have ever stayed at. Hosts are outstanding in their customer service. Excellent mid coast location to explore Boothbay region. Cottage itself is awesome with great amenities. Difficult to leave and can't wait to stay again!

A true slice of paradise

My 8yo and I spend all year dreaming about our Maine vacation. Both times we've rented there, the cottage has been immaculate, and the hosts respond to every request, not that we have many since they think of EVERYTHING. We love the lake, the canoe, the sky, the fire pit, grill, outdoor deck, night time sky, sound of the loons and it is just the most relaxing comfortable place on earth. We feel so blessed to have found this place and can't wait for next year!!!!!!!

The location and view was excellent! We’ve stayed in a different area every year for the past 8 years. This place definitely needs to be updated. The living room furniture was faded and stained. The carpet was stained. Overall overpriced for how dated it was.

Slice of paradise...

This is our third year at Wildwood and each year we have extended our stay by a week! The cottage is perfect - beautiful setting, well equipped, and very comfortable. The hosts are wonderful. While there is plenty to enjoy at the cottage and on the lake, the Damariscotta area has so much to offer. It has become our home away from home! We love it!

Damariscotta Cottage

This is a lovely secluded cottage on a small lake surrounded by wildlife. We enjoyed listening to the loons and admiring the beautiful lake. There are nice hikes nearby and the town of Damariscotta has a few delicious restaurants. Great place for a relaxing vacation!

Wonderful stay!

We had an amazing week at this wonderful house! At first we were a bit worried when we realized there was no ac but quickly saw how the breeze coming off the lake along with the fans in every room cooled things off very nicely. Some evenings we were even chilly and I had to grab a sweatshirt. Myself, my husband, our 2 boys and our dog had the best time hanging out on the dock, swimming, kayaking and fishing. We also loved the convenient location to town with all of the cute shops and great restaurants. We also took drives into Boothbay and Freeport, both were very dog friendly! This house provided the best of both worlds for us- the peaceful nature and serenity of the lake (watching the loons in the morning was my favorite) and the closeness of town- a win win for my family. The house was clean and well stocked with everything we needed. We were all so sad to leave and are already talking about coming back next summer.

Very relaxing.

Lovely waterfront home. Wrap around deck, with nice breezes off the lake. Clean and comfortable, plenty of room for a family of 4. Washer/dryer and 2 bathrooms were very convenient. Would stay again.

Perfect Getaway!

My family and I enjoyed our stay at this beautiful property for a whole week. We only went out for groceries twice, which was just a few mins away and spent the rest of our time on the property. The home was very clean and felt so cozy. It was perfect for the four of us, and our frenchie. The view was amazing. It was very peaceful. We loved kayaking and hearing the loons. We were lucky enough to see a few too. We will definitely rent this home again!

What a gem! Clean, quiet and beautiful!

Beautiful, exceptionally clean cottage on a quiet pond where a family can bring their dog is just an absolute gem to find. The pond is just lovely for swimming and paddling. You can eat outside and even have a campfire. Wonderful thought by owners to really equip the cottage with items you may need.

Definitely off the beaten path (which we like). Clean and well equipped

Darling 2 bedroom cottage on a very pretty lake. Close enough to town for groceries and dining. Enjoyed the peaceful call of the loons in the morning. Upstairs access is by a spiral staircase - your group should be aware.

So peaceful!

The property overlooking the lake, is just what we had hoped for. Gorgeous sunrise and sunsets, very calm and private, and the overall layout was so comfortable. Hopefully we will be able to stay there again, and be able to enjoy the fireplace.

Wonderful Retreat!

Everything about this lovely home was perfect. The home is cozy and meticulous and the views are breathtaking. Everything you need is provided and the owners are gracious. Easy and relaxing for parent of tweens.

We had a great time! Kids went swimming every day, kayaked and fished. Easy for parents to sit on deck and watch kids play in the lake from a safe, yet relaxing distance. We tried to get the kids to go on a guide lead kayak day trip, or go the ocean but they only wanted to stay at the lake! Jen and her family are warm and welcoming. House is deep cleaned between guests. Hope to go again next year!

Just AWESOME!

Im about a year late leaving this review but my wife and I absolutely loved staying here! It was so quiet and peaceful here that I dont think I could of ever been more relaxed! I came with a bass boat that I put on their little dock and went fishing every morning which was just amazing! good fishing but BE CAREFUL of rocks out on the lake haha. Sitting out on the deck and just taking in all the beautiful sites and sounds is just the way life should always be lived, it was just fantastic. very clean inside and had everything we needed. theres 2 full bathrooms which is nice. We would absolutely stay here again like this month if it wasnt for this darn virus crazyness! I know its a late review but Thank you so much for renting to us!! LOVED IT!

One of the best rentals we've ever stayed in. Just perfect. Loved it. Right on water, lots of loons, eagles, really nice swimming. The raft was awesome. Loved the house, with the ceiling fan and dishwasher big keys to a relaxing stay. Kitchen was complete, everything worked perfectly. Owners next door, very nice folks. Rent it if you can get it.

Best of Maine vacation

This is a premier spot! Beautiful lake front location to see loons and eagles, to swim and paddle or row..or just chill. Easy access to town and a grocery store which may not seem important but when driving 25 minutes to find one..it becomes important! Plus a short hop to coastal spots for lobster and lighthouses. Plus this mid coast property gives you access to Boothbay, Camden and many many places to explore. House is totally livable with excellent views of lake and a large wrap around deck. We love it!
