Perfect Spot for Fishing and Relaxing!

We were looking for a relaxing, quiet getaway with our seven year old son and this was the perfect spot. The cabin was very well maintained and we walked down to the river to fish every morning and evening of our stay. Centrally located, quiet and peaceful. We will definitely return!

Great getaway

My family really enjoyed there stay. My boys loved being right on the river to fish and built a fire in the firepit. And we did as well. Loved the hottub very nice to relax after long day of tubing which was nearby and walking to the linville falla and walking thru caverns which are all near by

Mt visit

The caretaker was very nice. Although I did search for a property with a hot tub specifically for the kids but once we got there they said no kids under 16 could use it so that was disappointing. Also I thought from the pictures it was a little more isolated but we had neighbors with one being about 8 feet from my window

Ski trip stay

Clean and comfortable property, had all amenities needed, Wi-Fi, tv, heaters, fireplace, 4 person hot tub, enough bedding, full kitchen. Just did not like the well water, had to use our own water for cooking. Good value for what we needed and responsive manager.

Beautiful river cabin, closer to others than anticipated

Overall, we thought this was a great cabin right on the river. Something we would have liked to have known ahead of booking was how close you are to the other cabins. You'll be about 20-40 feet away. That is the reason we did not rate this at 5 stars. Most everyone kept to themselves, but we're just the type of people who like being more secluded. The owner was friendly and polite and rides his 4-wheeler around the property. The cabin was very clean and had everything we needed for an extended weekend stay! This particular cabin was right on the river and we enjoyed listening to the sounds in the evening. We did fish (off the bank & in the river) and caught a rainbow trout!

Not accommodating for an anxious dog and water tasted and smelled of rust

This trailer park of tiny homes did not impress us. For our 9th anniversary we booked one of these tiny cabins. Even before we checked in our problems started. They didn't send the check in info so i messaged them through the app, no response. So i found the phone number and texted the owner that way. He was responsive , maybe too responsive because he called about 5 times that evening and told me I had not added our dog. Then called back saying actually I had. Now our dog does have anxiety but in the listing it makes you believe this is a secluded cabin. However, it's5 ft from the next cabin. He called us yet again the next day and told us we had to come get our pup because she was whining. After rearranging our whole afternoon, we were fed up with the whole situation. We almost just went camping, seeing as we didn't feel welcome or wanted. The owner never reached back out, imagine that. We washed all the dishes before we used them because many of them still had food on them from the last guest. Also, big also, the water from the showers and sinks all tasted of rust. Nasty. They need to address this and others should know. * btw if i leave a review its five star, this is the only time I've ever written a bad one. We just felt it was necessary for other pet parents and people who don't want to brush thier teeth with rust.

Not what I expected

Good things first: the stream and setting were beautiful, the house was well equipped, the neighbors were very welcoming and the bed was cozy I don’t like to complain but we arrived at about 5pm and requested the lock box # and cabin number and received no response until 730. Luckily a kind neighbor helped us locate the cabin and provide us with the lockbox# by about 6:30 This may have not bothered me too much if we hadn’t made dinner plans and missed them due to timing. Unfortunately the fireplace was also not working and Josh apologized. The spa had a very heavy bleach smell, rendering it unusable for us, it may have not bothered someone else. If I hadn’t filtered my search to include a fireplace and spa, these last two item would not have been significant but because I did it was very disappointing.

The perfect getaway and remote work setup

I needed to getaway, but still do some work. This cabin was the ideal situation! Spent the day in the hot tub overlooking to water and working remotely from the porch - connecting with nature and still getting work done. The winery around the corner is a great afternoon stop and hiking at grandfather mountain is only minutes away. The owner was super thoughtful and accessible. Will come back for sure!!!

Cozy and charming cabin for getaway

We were very pleased with the property and overall experience. It was very nice to find a pet friendly location that was so charming and well appointed. The gas fireplace was wonderful for the cold evenings and the hot tub was an added bonus. Excellent location near Linville Falls Winery (recommended on to do list) as well as reasonable drive to Blowing Rock and Boone. Everything we needed was provided in the cabin and our host Shane was very accommodating and attentive. Check in and check out were easy and uneventful. The property offered a large open space to walk our dog as well. We would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking in the area. Loved the whole log cabin feel and experience.

Quick getaway with my boys

During the Covid 19 pandemic and Memorial Day weekend, I wanted a change of scenery and a clean isolated place my 3 boys could go out and explore and have fun. This place was perfect. Right on the Linville River, perfect for fishing and kayaking. A fire pit right outside close to the river with a picnic table for perfect meals and a nice hot tub to relax in. There is also a big field the kids played kickball in. The owner was amazing and even offered to help us get into grandfather mountain with his pass. Everything we needed was there and we will definitely go back again.

Family Getaway

A great place to take the kids and slow down. The location of the property is just a few miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway, Linnville Falls, Linville Caverns, and lots of hiking. The cabin size was ideal for a family of three. The hot tub worked and was very relaxing after a day of hiking. Shane and Jennifer both checked in on us to make sure we had everything we needed. The property is situated enough from the main road that I felt comfortable with letting my kids roam up and down the river bank on their own. Certainly considering coming back!

False advertising and unprofessional management

We're looking for a private spot to visit where our dog could spend time off lead. This cabin seemed to fit however there are many rules. 1 is that your dog must be on lead at all times. I requested the booking and stated I could work with their rules except I planned to have the dog off lead. I also gave my dogs breed and weight. My booking was accepted but there was no response to my inquiry. I emailed again to state the importance of off lead training with my dog and got a response...a paste and copy of the rules. I thought these rules were to protect them legally in case a dog was hurt. This would've been a great time for Shane to let me know this wasn't a private area where I could let our dog roam but they were too lazy to communicate. They also didn't charge the correct pet fee...only charged me the minimal amount. They had the info to charge me correctly but didn't. They didn't know how to resolve the issue and this caused more unneeded back and forth. I wondered why a dog would need to be on lead when there's so much private property to roam. I get the address a day before we leave and quickly notice why there's a leash rule. This cabin is 1 of 8 cabins along the 1/4 mile river front. The surrounding cabins are about 40ft away from this rental which isn't private. The riverfront may be private to Shane but it's not private to his guests. At any point you may have another guest walking, or driving an atv 10 ft off the back deck. This is false advertising and I felt tricked but I had no time to find another location. The fridge and freezer smelled heavily of fish, which he was aware of, but we knew there was no quick fix for that. We made the most of it and had a good time. More offensive things occurred after we left. Check out was at 11:00 and I get a text that night at 5:30 saying our dog peed in the cabin and inferred we left him alone unsupervised...we didn't. If you own a housebroken pet you may know how stressful this accusation can be. He said he would send a pic, and location of the urine but he didn't. After that text he waits 36 hours and texts that we didn't pick up our dogs poop. Who acts like this? No answers to my ?'s just 2 false accusations with no proof. Turns out the urine was in the bathroom...great work Sherlock. He realized he could've investigated more and offered a free night, an empty offer, but I wanted the $ for that night instead. Who would want to return after all this. He said we didn't qualify for a refund.

Weekend in the mountains

Beautiful location on the Linville river however it is not the place for a romantic weekend for 2. The cabin is part of a series of riverfront cabins that is great for a fishing trip. The cabins are just off the highway so the are not secluded. Overall if you are looking for a great outdoor experience this is the place. But not for a secluded getaway

Cute and cozy cabin with beautiful surroundings!

We spent Christmas at this wonderful little cabin. The place is exactly as it looks in the pictures, except no snow for us. We had fires by the river and relaxed in the hot tub every night. The owners we gracious enough to leave us a basket with some essentials and some firewood too. Overall our experience was the perfect getaway. We hope to come back soon!

What makes this property unique

This property has the unique benefit of being both in the mountains and on the Linville River. Providing the best of two worlds, when usually you must choose one or the other. It's also a hidden gem - being minutes away from major NC mountain attractions but off the map enough to not feel like you are. It's truly incredible. I absolutely love it here. - Jennifer (Property Manager)
