About this property

Remodeled Prospector Condo, Washer/Dryer, Fireplace, Kitchen, on Free Bus Route!

Recently remodeled studio unit in Prospector with both a queen bed and very comfy full size Pier One sleeper sofa with a memory foam mattress. It features a dining table that seats 4, electric fireplace, 40" HDTV with DirecTV, DVD, and phone casting capabilities. Our covered deck has a nice view of green space...not a parking lot...lol! The new kitchen features a clothes washer/dryer combination unit, bar height fridge, 4 burner cooktop, full size microwave, K-cup type coffee maker with a selection of free coffees, tea, and even hot chocolate! There's also and an Oster Countertop Convection Oven large enough for a 12" pizza, pop-up toaster, blender, etc., everything you need on an extended vacation, even free Wi-Wi! We even stock some canned foods, soups, and dry goods for purchase, in case you arrive late and are hungry, or want a midnight snack!

For skiers, you have a ski rack and plenty of room to store your gear. And The Prospector complex has a ski rental shop on-site, swimming pool (outdoor, summer season only), and year-round outdoor hot tub. The Prospector is located right on the free Park City Bus Route, so you can catch a lift to Park City's Main Street, ski areas, and lots of entertainment, dining and shopping options just minutes away. One minute walk to local gym and spa, that offers day and short term memberships. A variety of restaurants and bars are conveniently located within walking distance of Prospector Square Conference Center, plus several restaurant/food delivery options.

We assume 1 or 2 guests will only use the queen bed, if this is not the case, please contact us. If 3 or 4 guests are booked, we will automatically provide additional bedding and pillows for the sleeper sofa. We charge a small fee for more than 2 guests, just to cover the occupancy and hotel taxes assessed by Park City and Summit County, and the additional laundry fees associated with the extra bedding.

Undeclared guests will be noted by the on-site security cameras, and the HOA will report violators to the authorities. There are very heavy fines imposed for fraudulently avoiding the city and county hotel and occupancy taxes. Please, our additional guest rates are very, very low, and only cover these taxes and costs for extra guests. We strongly recommend you accurately report all guests to avoid substantial fines and the need to return to the area to face legal issues.

NOTE: We do not offer seasonal or long term rentals during the ski season, just the nightly and weekly short term rentals, at the rates published on VRBO. Thank you for understanding. Also: Last minute bookings (made the day before, or the day of your check-in) may require a later check-in time, up to 7pm. This helps to insure the housekeeping staff has time to properly service the room with enhanced cleaning protocols.

Finally, the Prospector HOA does NOT allow dogs on their premises, unless they are service animals, as set forth in ADA regulations. If your canine meets this requirement, please contact us before booking.

Cats are allowed, but incur additional cleaning fees due to the dander and allergens they spread...contact us for details. (I'm an animal lover, an AKC registered breeder of English Springer Spaniels, and have had dogs and cats my whole life. We don't make the rules...sorry!)

Great little condo steps from the bus stop

Condo was as advertised, great location abutting a quiet little neighborhood steps away from the bus route. A few great restaurants within walking distance. The hot tub was well maintained and spacious. Lots of great little extras in the condo, the cupboards were stocked with lots of items for use, and bed was comfortable. It was very quiet and private (despite the condo complex being full), the walls must of been well insulated because I rarely heard neighbors. Definitely a little gem for the price! My only suggestion would be do go easy on the room air fresheners. When I arrived there was a strong air freshener/deodorizer type smell. I quickly realized it was coming from 2 little purple air fresheners and was able to reduce the odor by putting them in a drawer during my stay.

Very cozy, but..

This place was cute! Very homey, the kitchen area and dining table were very convenient. The host has a cabinet with snacks in case you need them, coffee, and water. Our only complaint was the cleanliness, which had nothing to do with the host. The shower had hair on the walls, the same hair was in the brush for washing the dishes. On the topic of dishes; that was also a great touch. However, they were sticky. Not very uncommon, but definitely had to wash anything before using it. The keurig was a little dirty as well, though it was nice to have it there. Overall, it was in a great location and a very nice stay!

The Sundance Week

The place is what is described in VBRO. I stayed there for the whole week, and my wife stayed with me for a night and my brother for a different night. I was surprised that the sofa bed was locked. It's the first time I've experienced this anywhere, and it's strange to do this. The hallway smell was a bit uncomfortable - besides two items, the rest was great, clean, location and positive experience around Park City

Super cozy, super functional

We had another fantastic stay and felt like home. Condo is very clean and extremely well equipped. Love that there is no need for a car with the bus stop right in front and buses going every few minutes. Owner is very responsive and flexible. Highly recommend!

Great place

My son and I had a wonderful stay. The condo exceeded our expectations - very clean and well equipped (including comfortable mattresses). We really appreciated how uncomplicated the owner made everything for us. For any of our questions we found the answer in the concise manual. Skibus and hot tub are super convenient right up front. And what I didn't realized when I booked: The condo lies conveniently between Park City Mountain Village and Canyon Village and the bus ride is short to either side. Start skiing in the morning on one side and end on the other - very cool.

Watch your back!

Lots of little fees that add up when you're trying to leave! Be sure to check everything in the checkout, because the fees they charge are very steep (I missed one thing and they charged me 10% of the cost of my ENTIRE STAY)! Renters BEWARE!

Great accomodations, great owner, the site management - not so much

WiFi was very poor, often no connection to Internet despite strong connection to node. Regular deal staff were very nice but they told me that they've raised concerns with the manager kany but she didn't really seem to care or do anything. When I raised it with the day manager she was extremely unpleasant, and told me that I had an attitude. She stated that the owner had not raised concerns - as if that was a reason to dismiss my concerns. The issue was not addressed during 2 week stay. I could not participate in meetings that u needed to. I was better off participating from a chairlift seat. There was a wifi router/node right outside of my room so they should have been able to correct the issue promptly. This had a profound impact on the quality of my stay despite the efforts of the owner. Note that the site receives delivery from Amazon, UPS and FedEx but doesn't receive delivery from USPS. They couldn't even tell me which post office would receive the package that was sent - eventually I was told it was the main street PO. It was not - it goes to the Park Avenue office! I suggested that they note that they don't get USPS delivery on the welcome info package but the manager told me that's the owner's responsibility. Seriously - the Prospector couldn't note that where they tell the customer about the got tub and trash pickup?? My studio was great and the owner was helpful. Why can't the prospector be the same?

Great Condo!

Condo was conveniently located near a bus stop, so it was easy to get to Main St. and the village. Lots of great restaurants in walking distance, too! The condo itself was great for our 3 night stay and had everything we needed. The owners were very thoughtful when stocking the condo and included a stocked medicine cabinet, mini fridge and pantry in case you got in late and needed a snack.

Great little place for our ski trip

We spent 5 days at this cute little condo and enjoyed it as part of our family ski trip to Park City. Everything was ready for our family of 3, including sheets already put on the foldout couch, that our kid slept on. We also appreciated a little pantry stocked with basics, it was nice to be able to make popcorn, and have some snacks when we first arrived. The ski bus was right around the corner from the building, and we did great relying on the free shuttle. We also enjoyed walking to a few dinner places, including Fuego Pizza (really close and great) and a little Mexican restaurant.

Perfect place for a quick ski getaway

My son and I stayed here for 3 days for a ski trip. Barry was very communicative and helpful with any issues. We even left our travel ski bags there after check-out but Barry reached out right away and offered to meet us to get our stuff. The condo itself was great, it was a bit smaller than I had thought but still fit our needs. Having the bus line right there was also perfect for getting around.

Property is in a great central location, easy to find easy to get anywhere around the area. Condo was clean and had everything you could need to enjoy your stay including extra snacks, food, pots pans etc if needed. Wonderful experience and will absolutely use again the next time I’m in Park city. The only “negative” I could say is the check in being in another building so hauling your luggage can be cumbersome.

About the host

Hosted by Barry Brown

Host profile image
We're Kandilyn and Barry, and we purchased this condo in September, 2017, and remodeled it for ski season guests. Barry works for the State of Utah as a Director of Information Technology, while Kandi works for Applegate Home Care and Hospice in Park City. This is our "ski condo", we use it ourselves, and so does our family.

Why they chose this property

We really fell in love with this condo. So many Prospector Square units face a parking lot, but this one looks out on green common space. And it's adjacent to not only the bus stop, but the local walking/biking trail, (union Pacific Rail Trail), and it even has a little babbling brook (Silver Creek) running by! We stay here ourselves, and let relatives stay here when they visit from out of the area. We even plan to keep it when we retire and move away! (Gotta have a place to stay when we come back to visit the kiddos and grand kids!)

What makes this property unique

Great location, right on the free bus route that'll take you to the ski area or downtown. The walking, jogging and biking path runs right by it, and you can walk to several stores and restaurants. It's literally 3 turns to get to the condo from the Salt Lake International airport! (Nice if you're somewhat "directionally challenged").
