House in Duras, not St Pierre du Dropt

Nice house, poor location Finding the property was difficult as it is not in St Pierre du Dropt as advertised but close to Duras. It was difficult to contact the owner to sort this out as they we away from the area during the arrival time frame and their mobile phone kept losing signal. The road on which the property is situated is on the N608 which is a major road with noisy, heavy lorries and agricultural vehicles which destroys any countryside feeling. Further, it may be in a wine growing area but you cannot see a vine from anywhere in this property. Sitting in the garden leaves you open to being annoyed by ants and midges / gnats possibly due to the dried out but still damp pond in the garden. The back garden is small and suffers from proximity to the cesspit tank vent. Duras is an interesting town with a decent market but not a good base to explore other heritage or countryside locations in the area. Finally, one set of towels and bed linen for a fortnight during a period of hot weather is simply not acceptable.

3de keer dat we hier waren. Tijdens corona kreeg het hele huisje een nieuw kleurtje en de toevoeging van de spa vinden de kinderen geweldig. Zoals steeds een Hartelijke ontvangst door de eigenaars, die steeds klaarstaan als je iets nodig hebt of al eens een bakje met tomaten of ander lekkers voor je deur zetten. Een huisje met alle gemakken, rust en genoeg te zien in de omgeving.

We hebben een geweldige vakantie gehad. De gite is zeer sfeervol ingericht en voorzien van alle gemakken en ontzettend schoon. De eigenaren zijn zeer vriendelijk komen je welkom heten met een flesje wijn. In de omgeving is veel te bekijken en er zit een goede bakker op 5 minuten rijden. Ook een supermarkt is in de buurt. Ons heeft het niet gestoord maar er loopt wel een redelijk drukke weg voor.

Wij hebben een dag na aankomst een ander huis gehuurd vanwege de ligging aaneen drukke route national. Maar we willen geen slechte recensie geven. De gîte wasgoed en de eigenaren gastvrij. Zij gaan ook akkoord met terugbetaling van de 5 dagen dat wij elders zaten. Dat schijnt echter de beslissing van Belvilla te zijn, maar die kan ik noch telefonisch noch per mail bereiken. Hoewel ik kan zien dat zij me 3x gebeld hebben. Waarom ik dat niet heb meegekregen begrijp ik niet. Graag jullie interventie in deze. Alvast bedankt. Met vriendelijke groet, Jan

We werden zeer goed ontvangen, voldoende uitleg over de woning, veel tips over de omgeving. Goed ingerichte woning, mooie tuin. Alles is in Duras aanwezig van supermarkt tot bakker beenhouwer, eetgelegenheden. Veel bezienswaardigheden in de buurt.

De huiseigenaren waren zeer vriendelijk en gastvrij. Het huis ziet er zeer mooi afgewerkt uit en alles wat je nodig hebt is aanwezig. In de omgeving zijn vele bastiden te zien en als grote plaatsen zijn Agen en Villeneuve sur Lot aan te bevelen. Een grote Leclerck die bovendien zeer goedkoop is t.o.v. van vele andere supermarkten is in Pineuilh, slechts 20 minuten rijden.

Het huis is fantastisch en de ontvangst was zeer vriendelijk. Helaas spreekt de eigenaresse nauwelijks Engels en werd de uitleg over het huis hoofdzakelijk in het Frans gegeven. Alles is aanwezig in het huis en de accommodatie is bijzonder schoon en netjes. Op de sateliet-TV kun je helaas geen Nederlandse zenders ontvangen. De 2-persoonsbedden zijn smal en kort maar de matrassen liggen prima. Het huis ligt op een groot eigen terrein en je hebt bijzonder veel privacy. Het ligt redelijk ver van de doorgaande drukke weg maar het toch wel drukke verkeer is goed hoorbaar. ´s Nachts heb je hier met gesloten luiken geen last van. ´s Avonds is in de hele omgeving van het huis geen verlichting zichtbaar. Het is er pikkedonker en ook de weg heeft geen straatverlichting.

Fijn vakantiehuis, dat met veel zorg is ingericht. Goede meubels en goede bedden. Vriendelijke ontvangst door de eigenaresse, er stond een flesje streekwijn voor ons klaar. Heerlijke grote tuin met veel schaduwrijke plekken en mooi uitzicht over de velden. Mooi gebied met Duras vlakbij, met verschillende goede restaurants. Enige minpuntje is de drukke doorgaande weg voor het huis.

Huis doet aan alleverwachtingen. Wij zijn vriendelijk ontvangen door de beheerders ze wonen naast het huis maar hier merk je niets van. Je heb voldoende privecy.Het huis heeft een prachtige tuin hier hebben wij enorm van genoten. Er is ook genoeg te bezichtigen op korte afstand.O.a wijn route.Gezellige dorpjes. Wij hebben een geweldige vakantie gehad in dit stijlvol gerenoveerde en charmante huisje. De fraaie grote tuin met de vele vogels, het prachtige overdekte tegelterras rondom de gite bieden alle denkbare privacy. De ontvangst was heel hartelijk en op tafel stond een fles heerlijke Duraswijn. De streek is één grote wijngaard. Er zijn ook veel mogelijkheden om te fietsen.

het was een vakantie met ons tweetjes, lekker relaxed, de streek verkennen, langs de wijnboeren gaan, enkele flessen meenemen. het was vooral heel ontspannend. Bergerac is een heel mooi stadje, de moeite van het bezoeken waard. de ontvangst was uiterst vriendelijk! een aanrader voor rustzoekers
