Elegant Rehoboth Beach Family Retreat, Resort Living at its Finest

This home is perfect for family reunions. The 'Scarborough Affair' home is situated on a 17,600 square ft. triple lot, six (6) blocks from the beach. This is the ultimate in vacation privacy. The rear yard is adorned with lush landscaping, hardscape, low voltage night up-lighting, and pergolas draped with Wisteria and grape vines. The 30x15 in-ground heated pool (in season) is a fabulous retreat. In the evenings enjoy the illuminated pool (on timer) and the tranquility of the yard and gardens with added ambient lighting throughout the pergolas. The interior entertaining spaces are open, light and airy and filled with a mix of antique, designer and casual beach furnishings. The open floor plan is perfect for daily family gatherings. The first floor living space has beautiful Mahogany floors throughout, and walls of floor-to-ceiling French doors and windows overlooking the multi-level deck and rear gardens with pool.
The kitchen is fully-equipped for entertaining with stainless steel appliances including a gas range w/electric convection oven. There are multiple dining areas and you can easily accommodate 12 at the main table - 20 using the granite kitchen bar area. The all all season glass porch dining seats 4 to 8, and the rear deck dining, overlooking the yard and pool, seats 12-18 so you can dine under the stars whenever you like. The 15x24 foot screened porch just off the living area has recently been glassed in with air conditioning and heating and boasts the original brick floor and vaulted cedar ceiling with 60 " fan and large L-shaped sectional, large flat screen TV, and dining area - great for relaxing after a day at the beach. You can also enjoy our private, open-air outdoor shower with hot and cold running water.
The lower level serves as lovely private quarters for an entire family or a space for the kids. It has an additional family room with large flat screen TV, 2 bedrooms (one queen and one w/a twin and set of bunks), small dining area, kitchenette with microwave and extra refrigerator (no stove) and full bath.
There are two king bedrooms on the main floor level and one full bath. The second level has 4 additional bedrooms including the spacious master bedroom suite with a King sleigh bed and en-suite bath with vaulted ceilings. Other bedrooms on the second level include 1 queen, 1 w/queen and twin which connects to the 4th bedroom with a double. In addition to the King en suite, there are 2 additional full baths on this level. Parking off street for 5 cars plus 3 City of Rehoboth street parking permits provided.

The house and surrounding landscape at Scarborough is absolutely beautiful. Our family of 17 fit perfectly with beds for everyone. Rich was very attentive from my first email upon inquiring about the property thru our stay at the house. We had a couple small issues during our stay & Rich handled them immediately. The pool was such a bonus that we found we had to force ourselves to head to the beach. It was a bit of a distance to the beach so plan on driving there especially if you have young children.

**Great Family Vacation House (5 of 5 Stars) - Hap P.
My wife and I had all 7 of our children and grandchildren at this house for a week-- a total of 18 people. It worked great. The home has enough bedrooms whereby each family had their own and the lower level could accomodate many of the children. The large dining table and bar stools allowed us all to enjoy dinner together. The backyard and pool area was great for gathering and having fun;even for chatting after the kids went to sleep. The house worked perfectly for a large family like ours.

**Private Beach oasis (5 of 5 Stars) - anna c.
We had a very comfortable family reunion celebrating my husbands milestone birthday! There were so many comfortable and quaint seating areas that everyone really enjoyed. The kitchen is very well stocked. All the bedrooms were used, so we had a houseful. Marcia and Rich were easy to rent from. We did drive to the beach to help manage chairs and umbrellas. Off season parking was easy.

**Great house for a large group (5 of 5 Stars) - Brittany
We stayed at this house for a long weekend in September for a family event. The inside is immaculate and comfortable, and very clean. It has a great open floor plan, perfect for entertaining. Our favorite part was the outdoor space. There is a large wrap around deck in the back that connects from the screened in porch to the dining room. There is plenty of seating, and we loved the lighting and landscaping. The pool was perfect, and the outdoor furniture is very nice. The location is in a neighborhood off the beach, but it's an easy walk to the beach. You can also walk to downtown Rehoboth and Dewey in about 20 minutes. The bedrooms and bathrooms are all updated with nice beds and lots of space. One thing to note, the fourth bedroom upstairs in the back of the house can only be accessed through the third bedroom, or through the bathroom of the master bedroom. Would be fine for families, but worth knowing.

**The perfect space for a big family. (5 of 5 Stars) - Eamonn T.
We loved this house. The outdoor space is great for getting together and having fun. The basement apartment was really useful as well. We had a great time and if we go back to Rehoboth would book this place again. It was only a 14min walk to the beach through a quiet neighborhood, the walk was really great and most times takes less time than driving over to the beach and trying to find parking.

Wonderful Family Retreat (5 of 5 Stars) - Pat E.
This is the second year we have rented this property and it won't be the last! Our family of three generations love the house with its large rooms and spacious porches. It is conveniently located for our teenagers to walk or ride their bikes to the boardwalk and beach. The house has a fully equipped kitchen which is surrounded by a very comfortable great room. It is well maintained, clean and very livable, providing spaces for privacy as well as for large gatherings. This year, because of the extreme heat, we had a problem with the air conditioning. The owners were right on it, and the problem was fixed with a minimum of inconvenience to us. We really appreciated the owners' attention and to make our vacation problem free.

**Family Celebration (5 of 5 Stars) - Helen K.
8 couples got together for a family celebration. The house was perfect. Everything we needed for cooking a big dinner and plenty of room so we were not on top of each other. The weather was horrible, but that just meant we got to enjoy being in the house more! Rich was great to work with. Answered questions and had left great information at the house for us. You will need a car to get to downtown and the beach.
